  • I know him personaly

  • Pretty cool! I remember when I was in elementary school a little over 10 years ago he came to our gym and gave a presentation like this.

  • Joe rules! I have been a fan for many years.

  • He is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • he came to my school 2day

  • he is awsome

  • he's communicating with a group of young children. most children in elementary school understand poisonous before venomous, hence tailoring the words to fit the audience. i saw Okefenokee Joe back in the mid 80s when i was in kindergarten and he was quite entertaining and relayed information in a way that children could understand and grasp.

  • Minor doesn't matter-- try being bitten by one and seeing if you care if it defines as 'venemous' or 'poisonous'. :P

  • Um...There's no such thing as a "poisonous" snake - there are venomous snakes, but no poisonous ones. "Venomous" refers to toxins which are actively transfered (e.g., a bite) from one critter to another; "poisonous" refers to toxins being passively transfered (e.g., by an animal that eats something with toxins in it). Minor detail, but worth getting right.
