I will not only never buy an apple product again (I haven't got one since 2005 when I got my ipod), but I'm never buying another electronic from China and other impoverished nations of the world where the companies force people into shit like this!
Also it is not capitalism that is evil. The idea of capitalism is with some government regulation large companies can benefit the community and society while making a profit.
@LordCHull Capitalism allows for the exploitation of workers since the beginning. Marx's critique of capitalism was spot on and still applicable today, although his "solutions" did not hold up in practice and was insufficient in regards creating a framework of economic equality for all. He wanted instead a "dictatorship of the proletariat," which was just another form of elitism which exchanged places with the former elite.
@DarrylWThomas Capitalism can work well as a system if under control. You speak of a laize-faire economy where anything goes and businesses are allowed to exploit whoever they want. Which is why regulation is needed. Capitalism can be the best system because it allows for opportunity and individual advancement.
@LordCHull Maybe it can, maybe it can. All I know is what Capitalism has manifested for the world as it exists now. And when half of the human population can't even come close to scratching an existence for themselves - "individual advancement" isn't even possible. So how can there be any "opportunity?" You're just offering slogans and blandishments. Get to grips with the reality of billions of people who are locked out of the system instead of succumbing to neoliberal theorizing.
@DarrylWThomas neoliberal theorizing? I'm talking about Theodore Roosevelt and his ideas of a square deal he was pretty conservative. The world can change it will just take a lot of work to do it. Regulation of corporations here in the United States so workers will be given suitable quality of life. Countries left in the dust by colonialism will slowly catch up with the aid of the world. All I can do is currently try to help those less fortunate within in my community and campaign for change.
First of all, we shouldn't have to pay to live on our planet. Second, this sociopathic "cult"ure is based on entrapment. Banksters bankrupted our countries and robbed us of their sustainable past through assassinations of honest leaders. To be replaced by thugs, inflation, reprogramming through brain numbing media chants. ..Sound Familiar? Create Chaos and Provide New Order. Criminal Cartels/ Bullies, Living off fraud, extortion, and terror.
@DrRejectz Personal attacks are counter-productive and unacceptable in public discourse, wouldn't you agree?
If someone can't handle their ego while 'defending their point,' banning is completely justified. Maybe others have time to waste dealing with such unreasonable people, but I don't.
@anarchist344 It's hard for you to make friends, isn't it.To be middle-aged and not have your ego sorted out is just sad. Good luck in making "anarchy work." The masses are waiting to be liberated.
All huge corporations do this... what do you think, that this is new. Microsoft, Sony, GE, Intel, HP, Dell, and many other well known corporations are doing this. Unless something is done then every bit of our remaining jobs will go to China so their citizens can work like dogs, while their upper class sits pretty!
@Thejeter5770 They all do this, yes. But what are you saying? It isn't about "american jobs sent overseas." This is about the predatory and anti-life aspects of capitalism that has been accepted as 'the way thing are," especially by those who are abused the most in the system! This is a call for those to reconsider the accepted "truths" about people and money and find a way to make sure nobody is abused by another. Equal Money will do that, and we will see it manifested before too long.
@DarrylWThomas Well I was just stating that all our jobs were being sent to China because a lot of Chinese factories are doing this for big corporations to make their crap. We won't change anything because these big businesses will never stop because the demand for these tablets and computers in limitless. Capitolism has been in OUR, and China's system of government for years now. We accept this, and the big businesses will keep doing this to Chinese citizens.
I hope that this isn't the case. But if it is, then Apple needs some competition. They need someone who will compete with them for employees and give them a better work environment.
@LifeIsABigPuzzle - What we require is a new Money System which actually Honor Life. A System where we do not spend our lives building the same product over and over and over which we could have just built once.
There is so many things wrong with this picture - Suggest to research equal money to understand a real solution - Creating another massive corporation to compete with Nike is Not a solution.
@brigandscholar Let's begin with the fact that "free market capitalism" is a neoliberal myth. In the case of Apple and China, where the major concern is the profit margin. The workers can go to hell. The thesis that one's hard work will be rewarded in a capitalist system is false, as economic slavery - not free market capitalism, is the reality. Or do you think that the rich getting richer, China owning the American debt and the post-industrial middle class is being wiped out are good things?
@DarrylWThomas The only system a free market could work in would be anarchy. Government, by virtue of it's parasitic nature, can only negatively affect a market. This is true because it has always been true. Also, in Florida, you can get the same kind of abuse at your job. Go USA.
@anarchist344 The "Free Market" is a myth and anarchism is an unprovable political theory. The human being is programmed to be a social animal, and this is key, because only in groups do human beings get more done than they could operating alone. I used to subscribe to anarchist views, but I found that the post-anarchist critique more compelling. Anarchism is great at conjuring visions of social change, but is useless in actually doing something to bring that change into fruition.
@DarrylWThomas Anarchy is not a myth, it has worked before and is working today. The internet is the probably the best example of an entire civilization using anarchy. As far as an instrument of change, the Occupy Wall Street and Anonymous groups are using anarchist principles quite effectively. Though of course, the statists keep on wanting to stick their nasty heads in it. Government is the true myth. It serves no function that the people cannot do for themselves even better.
@anarchist344 Where has anarchy "worked before?"That implies that such a social experiment was "successful." There is no record of a successful anarchist society - specifically because it would be impossible to work. People work best in organized groups. An anarchist community would still be a group in essence, and there would still have to be agreements in place to ensure people aren't fucking others over. There would always be some sort of enforceable law agreement within the group.
@DarrylWThomas It has worked in this country before. Try most of the west during our "Manifest Destiny' era. Too bad you are completely and willfully a slave to the state with your own education. There are tons of examples, you are simply too much of a pompous ass to actually develop your mind. Now quit wasting my time with your ignorance. I despise arrogant little self=important slaves like you.
@anarchist344 Do you have any FACTS that back up your claim that anarchy "worked" in the Western United States? Is this the time when the Euro descendants slaughtered and subjugated the indigenous peoples who were already living there? Or do you believe people will agree to your views simply because you call them names? I can see the kind of "anarchism" you subscribe to. It doesn't look at all different from the elitism of "statists" you deplore.
@DarrylWThomas Had you any interest in learning your history, such basic facts wouldn't have to be explained to you. Look it all up for yourself. If you don't, then you are merely wasting everyone's time. What a douche.
@anarchist344 I have plenty of interest in history, which is why I'm asking you to cite your claims. Will you answer me or resort to stalls and more name calling?
thanks for exposing this darryl. unbelievable - once you start opening your ears and eyes to what is actually going on in our world due to our acceptance... this must stop - we must stop this!!
Yay! Capitalism! Our choice of shiny technology at the expense of work that NO ONE here in our western money-filled world would EVER CHOOSE to do, put in by human beings that were UN-FORTUNEately born into a part of the world where working at the apple factory is the 'best' way to survive -- unacceptable
Equal Money will end this and change the way technology is produced
Will ppl ever realise that any country that has a relatively better quality of life now, will be tipped on its head when best serves the Oligarchy
They think long term, born fulfilling their grandparents goals, lucky to ever start their own. Yet everything they flood into the public psyche is all about happiness, fulfilment, get what u want, what u deserve NOW!
Which only creates a completely self-centred & divided world right down to the micro
Denounce unattainable dreams for ur descendants liberty!
Reading this, after just buying an iPhone makes one stop and consider 'what am I supporting?'
But then I realize that there is nothing in this world that is not abusive - so there must be no morality about it - only determination to walk the path of change until a New World is HERE.
