  • great sounds mate

  • Can you teach me how to play this ???

  • it's so beautiful.. makes me want to cry

  • nice set up!!!!!!

  • preety good

  • sounds great man polymoog yee haa

  • Would you be so kind to share this patch?

  • Get an Alesis Andromeda, it's almost/nearly THE perfect Polymoog patch. Called Humana Numana on the original presets. Plus you can do so many other classic synth patches, and it's true analog. I think you would like it a lot.

  • @OFR The virus can do an authentic polyMoog sound, which I have since made, but not done a video of - the Virus can pretty much do anything... you just have to work out how to do it...

  • @AntonyBarton i have an andromeda and it sounds nothing like the polymoog, i had a virus ti2 also and it cant do the sound either, the virus is far too clean and thin, not to mention digital. If you want a polymoog sound, get the free samples from hollow sun, you will clearly hear the difference.

  • @cprostudio I already have multisamples which I use. The Virus can do it, you just don't know how to do it. The polymoog is actually really simple to replicate, you just need precise enough control over a couple of things.

  • Andy you still on line mate, if so whats your E-mail, cheers pete p&c records

  • fucking awesome sound chilling

  • Nice 1 I play this 1 in the key E as you do the same as Gary Nmn. I play loads of his stuff on keyboard I'm a HUGE fan of G N for years. I play J Jarr, Kraftwerk, record my own stuff. The Juno G has a sound called Combpad that sounds very much like what your using & like the polly moog. I've just done a CD of me singing & playing old classics that I do when I entertain elderly day groups but music is just a hobby. What other stuff do you do & what equipment are you using there. WELL DONE. Cheers

  • To hear this and many other numan sounds live check out TUBEWAY DAYS on myspace and facebook.

  • @AntonyBarton

Hi, how can i build this sound on my access virus ti ?

    best regards .... spinatze

  • @spinatze Part of it already exists on the Virus as a factory preset (it is a multi patch I am playing). The other bit I'm afraid I'm not going to share...

  • @weegerri1sm Sadly I wont release this patch - BUT - if you want to hear it in person you need to watch out for gigs from my tribute band TUBEWAY DAYS - find us on myspace and facebook

  • virus c on top?

  • @TrowbridgeHardcore Virus TI

  • Wow, that sounds really great. Is this just Virus? Any effects going on?

  • @rockdove81 Just the virus, nothing else

  • Remember hearing this at Wembley in 81 and the synth rocked the place, still one of my favourite live Numan pieces, love it you'd work

  • Wow... I've heard this intro on "busted" & "non-busted" Polys, the former sounding deeply atmospheric, but the cover you've done is actually celestrial! Beautiful!

  • nice virus and great patch :) any chance of sharing tips or the patch?

  • Sounds close, but not quite the same. A lot has to do with the analog phase. I have restored a polymoog 280a from the ground up and can honestly say that the sound you have is close. run it through a real analog phaser and you will sound much better.

    Good video!

  • I love this tune! great job i was a numanoid

  • oh what a melody...so brilliant

  • Antony i am a massive numan fan from way back then to the present day i have heard your cover loads it's great i love it mick

  • what a babe you've got there

  • You can almost imagine how blown away Numan must have been back in the 70's when he first came across a synth and put his guitar aside for a while to experiment.

  • @mail2gazza i remeber the first hearing this album i was 13 WAS BLOWN AWAY BY THE SOUND OF THE SYNTHS! the music i was a numanoid

  • This is very well done but why is everyone who can make this lovely sound playing the same song? There's two other polymoog versions on you tube. Why not try this sound in other pieces?

  • Because if you were there at one of Numans early concerts you would have heard this and felt the whole world shake !

This is the PMK at its best :)

  • You're right, it would be interesting. But "vox humana" sound is perfect for these songs (slow, dramatic, mysterious). This song, for ex., uses a lot of dramatic chords and sequences based on sevenths and penthatonic scales(limited to 5 notes) and slow frequencies which induce the mind to a meditation state.

PD: perftect to have a good dream(ssssnnore). |-(

  • LordArsehat, I guess I need to educate you about synths. First off, if you claim that there is no vibrato in his patch (sounds close to the original to me), then you have to understand that that doesn't mean the synth can't do it, just that he didn't program it right. Don't blame the synth. The Polymoog keyboard only has 2 oscs and the Vox Human sound probably uses 3 LFO's. Using the same things in the same way on a digital synth will get you the same "never sounds the same" effect.

  • I thought you were kidding, but his name really is Lord Arsehat! Awesome.

  • Brilliant!

  • AntonyBarton, that is an amazing re creation!! Wow, I love the tone that you have, keep up the good work! Thanx 4 posting...

  • that sounds totally original...i'm flattened, really!

  • what a lovely atmospheric sound! Numan owns :P

  • well done antony!another great video, thanks for posting..

  • The Virus is the best synth I have ever owned. I like it better than my Roland JP-8000 and Nord 2X.

  • Ha, ha. That is a cool 'retro' sound. Nice. Trouble is, it's such a huge sound, the danger is that it swamps everything else!

    Cheers for sharing tho.

  • Dude it rules. It sounds perfect I think...

  • Numan rules... R.I.P Paul Gardiner...

  • Indeed

  • Wasn't the polymoog used for the Swirling Star logo?

  • FUCKING HELL that is as natural as a Gibson Les Paul Custom and a Fender Twin Reverb. Awsome

  • That litterally gave me goosebumps!! AWESOME!!

  • Cool.

  • wow next thing to a polymoog. must be very hard to find that sound

  • Nice. Im getting a virus ti desktop in a week or so cant wait.

  • Synth excelence, a Moog of course.

  • COOL. Sounds incredible.

  • sounds magnificent!

  • when i can be bothered i will post my actual Vox Humana clone which sounds the real deal, i was just forming this for my cover of films...

  • wasnt slaggin just thought i could lend a hand

  • not bad chaps. you need two sawtooth waves slightly detuned each one having lfo added AT DIFFERENT RATES trust me you wont get closer to the vox humana polymoog preset unless you play a polymoog if you can actually programme a synth. that is the core of the sound' set cut off freq accordingly and keyboard tracking as desired.. you must be able to have independant lfo settings on each osc to obtain desired effect

  • Quality

  • Really great. Excellent timing. Hope to hear more.

  • ahh these sounds are so terrific it always sends me shivers down my spine.

  • wow!!!! !

  • very good

  • That sounded effing amazing! What are you playing on? Great job with having the correct notes, too ^_^ 5*****

  • WOW! These polymoogs sounds are just unique. I think gary was at the right time. For me the sound of later 80ies bands (with digital synths) are quite replacable or similar.

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOH!!!MOOGS,LUV-EM!

  • Great.. we got you on Keyboards, nigelartist on guitar and i play Paul Gardiners Basslines :)

    Mark :)

  • Just love this track,Awesome intro to Micromusic. You have it spot on,Tanks for posting.

  • BRILLIANT!

I can play Jo The Waiter on acoustic guitar LOL

  • Antony sounded spot on! more stable sounding than my polymoog ever was wish it survived tho!

  • Very good, but its not got the power of a polymoog, the only synth ive used that stands out like a polymoog, not that it sounds 100% the same is my casio CZ5000, doing Numan type sawing string refs is the only thing I use it for,it standsout too much for anything else.

  • I get get the famous Vox Humana patch of the Polymoog out of my Roland D-50 and Roland JP-8000.

  • I have a JP-8080 (same as JP-8000) and it comes pretty close indeed.

  • How is the JP8000 set up for the Vox Humana sound ?

  • this is brilliant

  • Great playing but nothing can come close to sounding like the awesome Polymoog.

  • That is a CME-UF7, which is just a controller keyboard, all of what you are hearing is the Virus|TI

  • sounds great. i see the virus on top whats the synth your playing?

  • really good man.

    COLLAB FTW...
