  • True Brazil has great infrastructure, wealthy citizens and good universities but people who live in the favelas are also Brazilians. The commentary is very telling, in that those that "have" in Brazil are completely divorced from the challenges of the "have nots". The rich and middle class truly disdain the poor. That being said, the same problems do exist in the U.S. but this documentary is about Brazil. BTW, Fluminense, why do you volunteer in the favela if you don't resepect the people?

  • ainda eu amo minha querida Rocinha!

  • where can i get this documentary i think this is a real deep subject!!

  • Please watch our films with care, and judgement. We should not be interpreted by the eyes of these left-handed-socialist-full-of-crap artists.

  • continuing from the text below:

Our movie-makers ALL feel the urge to represent the poor side of our country to the rest of the world so they - with their credit cards, expensive cars, and upper class houses - can feel a little ease on their inherited guilt of being rich or middle-classed.

And also they do this to score some points with other movie makers, 'cause all of them would bash any movie maker that doesn`t make a film about the slum, poverty or violence that goes on in Brazil.

  • Nicely shooted, good quality film.

WARNING TO ALL OF YOU AROUND THE WORLD: This is not Brazil. This is a slum from Rio de Janeiro, just one state. In Brasil and even in Rio we also have enterprises, university, middle and high class society.

Brazil is one of the leading countries in genetics research, AIDS treatment, cancer treatment and the list go on.

We own natural resources that are important to the world, and we are mostly friendly when it comes to international politics.

  • metalmassacro: leading country in what you say, but corrupt and doesnt take care of its people. I live in Rocinha and see first hand how people of favelas are assumed to be bad when most are not, but people who are paid low wages and treated like crap by the asfalto world. How can one move out of favela if is not given oportunity?

Brazil does not recognize favelas and up until 5 yrs ago you would never find a favela on a map!

Brazil, take care of your people..and it starts with education!

  • How can you have the nerve to say this is not Brazil. This is Brazil! Maybe you wanted to say Brazil is not only this, but still. People from the favelas are also Brazilians, and human beings. We deserve respect, health, education... Dont act like you dont know why we HAVE to live in the slums...

  • Where can I see this documentary in the New York? Is it on DVD? Thanks

  • GO back to the editing suit and make another trailer.

I just seen the actual documentary and it´s is MUCH BETTER!

    Congratulations.
