@5eliza87 it doesn't hurt to donate, even if you don't end up being Janet's match, you may end up being someone elses' match. She asks for Asians in particular because to be a match you need to have similar genetic traits and being the same ethnicity raises that probability :)
I've donated blood before, but I never registered to be a bone marrow donor either. After seeing this video I registered! I should be getting my kit soon. I hope your donor is out there is has also registered as well. Be strong!

@CaliforniaVolante Why would anybody use this to scam other people? You obviously don't know what it feels like to be severely ill and the only way to find a match is to get your word out. Chances of having a match is 1 out of 20,000 but higher when it comes to other ethnic groups. I'd be terrified knowing that I wouldn't be able to live much longer. @CaliforniaVolante Why would anybody use this to scam other people? You obviously don't know what it feels like to be severely ill and the only way to find a match is to get your word out. Chances of having a match is 1 out of 20,000 but higher when it comes to other ethnic groups. I'd be terrified knowing that I wouldn't be able to live much longer. Janet is a brave person, who has been going through so much more than you have. All I can say now is that I hope you can understand her situation.
