    Then visit icodehelp (.) com

Your first steps into iPhone coding.

  • Apple says iMac or mac computers are clear screen and very large. Yet most of the video in youtube that use a Mac has a very tiny app.

Can't see anything just like the rest of other tutorial.

although nice video, you helped me

there is not alot of ppl like you that like to show and teach people for free

    but nice vids man

  • Its free to join and download, but it costs to put your app in the Appstore. The SDK is for Mac only.

  • its 4 mac only?!

  • Yeah. Thats how i felt.

  • do you need a mac computer to download iphone sdk???

  • Yes.

  • its free to joinbut it costs to download

  • No. It's free to join, and free to download. But you have to pay 99- 500 dollars for your app on the appstore. 99 is a single coder, 500 is the commercial.

  • other way around

  • Is there anyway to change the size of iPhone Simluator?

  • can u do it on windows?

  • Hey when i Run or Build and go on the Xcode my Simulator doesn't pop up can u help me.

  • where do you download this from?

  • it cost money

  • The Apple website.

Creating apps is 100% free, but if you want to put them on the AppStore, you need to sign up for the developers program and that does cost money.

  • uhhh, no. The developers program is free to join.

  • No it's not actually.

    Look at the site.

  • really? becuase I am a member, and I remember the cost: $0.

  • lol free for me

  • I just joined, free

  • Can SDK run on Windows?

  • No.

  • wow apples pretty gay to make you buy a fricken whole new computer just to make one or two apps that can possibly never be released

  • I'm on Linux right now making these apps :D

  • lucky u but idk about linux is it worth it by the way im on a terrible xp

  • You can do it on XP too :D

  • how?

  • Magic... lol

No you install the SDK on the iPod Touch and then compile on there using SSH.

  • whoopdido i dont have an ipod touch lol i just want to get rich off of apps T-T

  • how do u do it on xp

  • u cant mac only

  • how?

    im on windows

  • You need to jailbreak your device.

No appstore for you, but you can host it on Cydia, plus they are starting to charge for apps now too, so you could probably work something out.

  • wat program do i use to make em in windows

    ?

  • There isn't an actual interface builder yet, so all of the layout of your apps must be coded by hand.

All the code can be wrote in Notepad really, or you could find something better.

  • the iPhone SDK only work with an Intel Mac. No PC's.

  • ok so im going to make an app to sell, but idk how to leagally make one on a windows computer, and then put it on the app store... please help!

  • I just wish the SDK could run on Windows, I read it only works on Macs.

  • not just macs, intel macs with leopard, so no older macs allowed.

  • is sdk free

  • ya but the distribution is not

  • yah,.

  • you can develop for mac on windows if you know where to look

  • haha, thanks, you are the only person to notice (even i didnt)

  • this didnt help at all...

  • how can i get it to work on windows vista?

    please help!

  • You can only run it on Intel based Macs with Leopard.

  • check out iphone sdk tutorials

  • Why does it load in a web browser? O_o

  • it's a web app

  • Ah, that explains a lot xD. Although the SDK should be for native apps! Why is he coding web apps!?

  • *dashcode

  • download Xcode from apple's site, it comes with dashboard.

  • I have the sdk but where can you find dashcode?

  • search dashcode in finder. if you dont have a mac, i dont know

  • now... why the hell was this made in Dashcode?

You talk about how you just downloaded the iPhone SDK... so how about you actually use that? Dashcode was included with the developer tools in Leopard quite a while ago...

Right now I'm trying to change a tutorial application ("Currency Converter",) that was originally made for Mac OS X Cocoa into iPod Touch Cocoa. It's proving itself to be more difficult than I imagined... video helping with native applications please?

  • im sorry im new to developing but to learn iphone sdk does it have anything to do with java or C++? And what is objective-C is it a whole different subject?

  • Objective -C is object oriented programming. The main difference between Objective -C and a language like C is the object oriented, you have an object, such as your car, and you tell that object what to do. For example.

    my Car: Get Gas

    my Car: Drive

    my Car: Clean.

  • ok, so I only have a windows, not a mac, and iphone sdk isnt available for windows. is there a way to 'simulate' mac on windows to run the dmg file? or is apple going to release iphone sdk for windows?

    thanks for answering.

  • how come mine doesn't come up with an iPhone...

  • Please, detail in the video title that you are not using iPhone's SDK, because it's really confusing.

    Thanks.

  • he isn't???

i want to make this with a cool grafitti background

  • Too bad this isn't a native SDK tutorial. I was hoping for more Objective-C practice.

  • Keep 'em coming. Thanks.

My pet peeve has been no readily available WP/SS apps on iPhone (should'a had those built-in), and here you sat and created a basic one off the cuff; excellent example of what might be done.

More to the point, it's a great demo style for the behavior of the interface building process. That'll save me 10 minutes alone!

One thing you might consider is a rough script for your presentation to talk about the interface's details. But good job of it. (& Great name dude ;^)

  • wow that's quite a description.

  • ya man. It is gay!! Not all of us can afford em.

  • i agree they should make it for pc users with iphones too

because these apps are gunna turn out like widgets and come out fast... imagine with pc users also making some apps for the iphone

  • Amazing...thx ...Please do some more? please please!!!!

  • nice intro. thanks

  • You are building a webpage here, there is nothing magic about it.

This video doesn't show anything about the SDK itself and programming with Objective C. It's pure html.

  • but for begginers who dont know how the f*** applications are made, its better to start them down with web apps and work your way up.

  • what is SDK for???

  • Can you please not call this video "SDK" because I thought this was a tutorial on how to use the actual SDK released yesterday.

  • ok

    1. This is part of the SDK

    2. Please stop being retarded

    3. BANNED!!!!

  • Thats awesome, is small but a first! Will you be doing more?

  • Ya we plan on making more. Not sure how many yet, but we will be making more. Thanks for your interest.

  • I really miss programing, I did a lot of basic back in the 80's but then I stopped due to studies. So this was really helpful

  • hey do you know if they will every make an sdk Developer Program for windows XP

  • No since Windows doesn't use the Mac OS X frameworks the iPhone simulator wouldn't work, and Apple also doesn't give windows users Xcode so they get more people to switch I guess.

  • oh ok thanks

  • thanks so much

  • thanks a looot dude!! pretty helpful!!
