The crazy thing about those bands, and those days was they seldom knew just how GOOD they were. Only pity was that in that era we did not have too many good song writers in the pop scene of the time. I had a chat in about 66 with a Radio Caroline DJ and he kept telling me about the number of Irish Showbands that could do a gig covering a wide spectrum for 3/4 hours. I then told HIM that I had in fact seen them all live, and it was so true. They were good alright.
@thelittleleprechaun . Hello and thanks for your encouraging comments. The backing is a track I done myself and to be honest I have not considered a title for it as yet. Have you any suggestions. It's a bit long at nearly 8 mins. Regards to all 'down under'
@BlarneyO listening to your background music which helped to make the video so enjoyable and relaxing each time i hear it i think , thats "Brass with Class" seems a good title and says it as it is lets see a few more videos
@56BIGM Thanks for the coments BIGM. Happy, enjoyable and much simpler times, but superb entertainment. Remember the Brylcream and Old Spice and boy did we need it!
You can say that again...had the good fortune to be part of it albeit in a small way but it sure was fun travelling in an old Transit the length & breath of the country
Thanks muintir for your comments. Glad you liked the 'clip. Yes!... these fellows certainly 'hit the spot' honest, decent, pure and nonstop entertainment ... and great memories

Wonderfully put together! Mesmerising effects and beautiful music! I can't believe it, but I have bought your book Blarney called "Good Night, God Bless, Safe Home"...which is on the web! This video reinstates the magic of the Irish Showbands of the past...which were that good..they will always be remembered!!! Your book is fascinating and so professionally put together...you're a star!!!
I am deeply honoured to be the first to comment on this wonderful nostalgia.I was only young in the 60s but I remember sneaking under a tent to see Big Tom in Belmullet many years ago.Bring them back and God Bless u Blarney.
That was fun. Thank you.
