  • Absolutely fantastic playing. Stefano really looks as though he as enjoying playing that piece.

How much does one of those guitars cost?

Gorgeous instrument both visually and tonally.

    Who's the builder?

  • Grondona è un grande chittarrista. complimenti maestro!!!!!

  • Very nice.. You played this perfect.. This is one of my best composition on guitar..

  • 4:36 amazing.. great perfomance!!

  • Mamma mia che legati *-* vi sfido a farli così lucidi e puliti, gente!

  • bravo. nice left hand configurations . the ornaments come out good .for that you get a point .

  • true professional

  • This artist achieved a high level sensibility and technic. He was able to extract from the guitar many diferent colours ranges and matisses

    Congratulations.

  • i just love that solid sound of spruce top guitar <3

and the bass is so robust

i wonder what the back is....

  • It's a great interpretation, he obviously has buckets of skill. But nothing touches JB's expression, or JW's fluidity for me

  • Great playing and great interpretation throughout the various passages of this piece...greetings from Ireland.

  • beautiful music !!!

  • HAhAHhHAhA did you tune your guitar in the middle of playing?

  • I can't believe this guy is a world class performer, I mean he's good but if I played for my teacher with Stefano's left hand he would yell at me to the extent of, "Straighten your wrist!" and, "Use more elbow!"

  • 5 stars, really, among the others, from the highest constellation...

  • Ha ha. I am trying to learn this just now. Oh! to get it down half as well as this. He is a terrific player, no doubt about it.

  • I must say that this is an extremely good interpretation of Enrique's piece. I have read this in prim a vista and it is quite hard to get the overall structure of the composition. But after hearing Stefano Gronodona's version, even the most inexperienced musician can get an overall character of the piece.

It is simple an extraordinary interpretation that shows the many colours and aspect of the composition. But also what a great player Grondona is.

    My "hyllningar" to you Stefano.

    /Swede

  • Very nice indeed! We met in Mexico City in '82 for the Ponce festival and I'm glad to see and listen to you here. Congratulations.

  • sei un mago

  • Maravigla delle maraviglie!

  • Why not 5 stars ? he's among the best i've heard...ever !

  • Never heard anyone use tonal colour as well since Bream. Never a dull moment Excellent

  • Bravo!

  • Si la perfezione è asssoluta

  • oh my god this is heaven

  • Absolutely bloody amazing!

    (excuse me)

  • its very difficult to get the pizzacato right on this one...i am having trouble with the expression too. Sigghhh....but its worth it...this piece deserves hours and hours of practice.

  • what a great man who said stefano tuned the guitar irregular. i think he must be the next agustin barrios.

  • COMPLIMENTI, ECCELLENTE.

  • I am sure Mr. Grondona knows the subtleties of guitar, even tough he may seem not at ease with it most of the time. Why?

  • It's a pity the guitar is out of tune.

  • if one must say the truth fretted guitar is ALWAYS out of tune by default...it's not true that in a way Stefano's guitar is out of tune

  • The intonation and tuning on this guitar is just fine and the performance is first class.

  • Excellent performance.

  • Barbaro! Muy bién!

  • I'd love to hear Mr.Grondona play the music of

    Philip Rosheger!

  • @ fiboribo:

Sorry guy, but I remove your comment.

You can post a negative comment, of course, but in your you forgot the respect for the person.

No problem if you don't understand this, I live well anyway...

  • If I had 10 stars, I'd love to give 'em all to this video!

  • this is the best i've ever heard

  • Superb, the sound is excellent.

  • Very fine indeed...

  • Segovia's version is still my favorite, but this is one of best version's i've heard no doubt.

  • Absolutely wonderful! I love his style of play. He really feels the music and displays it through his actions.

  • Bravo! Well played!

  • simplemente excelente

grondona es uno de los mejores

    guitarristas clasicos de esta era

    ¡BRAVO!

    q tecnica por dios

  • Great, makes me want to know the text as well.

  • THis is a great interpretation. I prefer this by a mile to Williams' version. Thanks for posting this one.

  • Doesnt get any better....

  • ntonio de Torres was probably the best classic liuther of all time. This guitar in particular has very great tone, and a large sustain ,incredible for a cypress guitar.

  • It'a a maple Romanillos guitar...

  • Beautiful!!

  • very, very nice, but your guitar is slight out of tune

  • Inside!

  • I see you understand, GOD bless you! grondona is a clown, it reminds me the barbers playing in barbershops....

  • answer to fagapperd14: I see you understand, GOD bless you! Grondona is a clown, it reminds me the barbers playing in barbershops....

  • To each his own - he plays classical guitar which a lot of people love. U may prefer more spontaneous music - so be it. No need to slag the guy off though dude.

  • Stupenda interpretazione :-)

  • great and unique interpretation

  • So good

  • What guitar is he playing? maker, finish, model, etc...plz reply

  • The guitar was made by J. L. Romanillos in years 2003/2005 and named "La Culé", spruce top and maple back and ribs. It's not owned by Grondona, he is playing it just for this concert.

  • The guitar that you can see in this video is an Antonio de Torres made with spanish spruce top and Cipress(Spanish) back and sides. A

  • It's original for piano and voice!

  • wwooopphhss! :-) thanks xxxbra, just corrected the video info.

  • F'ing AWESOME! Beautiful sounding guitar too.....looks like a Romanillos.

  • Simply great!

  • Grondona doesn't play the thing as much as he conquers it, masters it, possesses it as a man does a woman. This piece sounds closer to the painting it was inspired by if played "under" the hand, softer as the curves of that lady, the exhuberance of the second part waltz more pronounced. I know this sounds odd, I don't care. Grondona is still absolutely magnificent in spite of all that.

  • wow, absolutely amazing!! closest interpretation i've ever seen to Julian Breams :)

  • where is everybody,, this guy is a genius guitarist ,,

  • This is very much like the Julian Bream interpretation of this Piece. Definately the right way to go and well executed!
