He means that he may hate the sight of the theatre, but the theatre has become a part of him, just like how he hates the sight of blood but it's a part of him (in his veins.) Another one of the incredibly brilliant one-liners in this magnificent film.
I will be watching this movie soon...Its a bit sad, the other day I went and asked for charlie chaplin and Laurel & Hardy at the videos rental shop...They told me that they dont have any of it
