Charlie Finch rips James Siena and Thornton Willis in his April 22, artnet article , and goes on to state, "there will always be morons like Panero, Kalm and Perl who think that they are gazing at the sky." However he doesn't mention Jerry Saltz on his "moron list" who also seems to enjoy the Siena show. Why?
I would hate to be judged by the folks who left such harsh comments. I enjoyed this off-the-cuff dialogue for just what it was. Can't that just be o.k.? I think it is great to see someone who is not doing pedantic posturing talking about art, top of his head, and juggling his own incites. One rarely sees that process.
@jpapare You're right. It is good enough to just say "I like it". I looked up more Jerry Saltz art appreciation videos and also read some of his book where he goes further into his approach to looking at art. It is refreshing.
Like the work. The mathematical commentary is pure nonsense -- self organizing systems, fractals, etc. Like 1:07 a bunch. This of course must be a 112th order Feynman diagram for Bremsstrahlung. Thanks mucho Jaime.

Jerry Saltz is to pretzels and chips as James Siena is to heavy bodied mediums

Sure ain't no Clement Greenberg or Harold Rosenberg. Can this guy make or break an artists career?
