  • my right ear is lonley

  • Balls of steel, with pilots with that kind of courage and calm under pressure, we should all be proud

  • I stil get chills every time I see this video......absolutely amazing!!!

  • Does anyone ever consider what the co polit was doing.....he was there too, you know

  • @BobAndGeorgia02

He was working furiously to try to restart the engines and complete emergency checklists. Crew Resource Management.

  • @fox2mike28 Yes, thats my point. There were 2 hero's that day, not one

  • @BobAndGeorgia02 Correction. There were THREE heroes that day. I was aboard Cactus1549 on that fateful day, and I served as the "Jive Translator"!! ;o)

  • yes cactus.

  • anyone know if those Canada geese were affiliated with al qaeda

  • I don't know why we spend so much money on anti-aircraft missiles. We should just buy a bunch of birds.

  • This is who I want flying anything I go on.

  • awsome pilot i wish i can b like him

  • Just read Sully's book "Highest Duty."

There is no doubt that this great man

lived his life in a diciplined and gallant

way so when this moment happened

he handled it with calm bravery.

  • mcdonalds should make a burger called the sullenberger and put bird meat on it :D

  • Pilot stayed calm, used his brain, and got everyone safe to thier homes. He is a hero.

  • As much as I'm mesmerized by the incredible work of the flight crew, I'm also impressed with the boat captains and crews. They had to approach the downed plane, and keep from colliding with it. Not nearly so easy as it might appear to be.

    All of these people rock!!

  • The woman helicopter pilot oddly sounds like my flight instructor...

  • if this was an L1011 it would have never had happened. The 3r'd engine would allow them to land, due to aerodynamic design the L1011 never had a flameout in the center engine from foreign object or bird strike.

  • Mistake in the transcript at 1:06, it is'nt "If we can get it to you"... It is definately "Couldn't get it for you". Hence why air traffic control is asking if he can make it to another runway.

  • hes so calm

where will u be landing. "The hudson"

  • hahahhaha

  • the miracle on the hudson was complete ....

  • haha

  • WHOA

  • this is beautiful

  • If I were that crew I'd be taking book deals and keeping off of planes for a while.

  • great airplane! airbus :)

  • boeing ftw!

  • I still can't believe how professional the crew did this. He sounded calm, but inside, I bet he was worried which is normal. Anyway, the result shows the professionalism. Great job.

  • Great landing.

  • they need some type of sonar repellant installed on all air craft.

  • Sorry! I intended to rate this with 5 stars, but accidentally clicked 4. I checked youtube help. There doesn't seem to be a way to change it.

  • there i 5 starred it for you

  • Thank you!

  • Fantastic job by the crew and everyone helping during and after the water landing. A lot of heroes on this day.

  • poor birds

  • Ha ...totally agree. Glad people are safe but the birds were like.... Who's putting all these loud smelly death machines in the way of our migratory path. Birds were there first.

    DON'T HATE THE BIRD
