. . .Yet finding a voice speaking about the LDS Church isn't always easy, explained several local journalists.
"I always want more than usually I get," said Jennifer Dobner, who covers the LDS Church for the Associated Press. "It's an institution, and institutions inherently have limitations on how much they can say, what they're willing to say, and sometimes that's never going to be enough for a journalist."
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will issue a new administrative handbook to hundreds of thousands of its lay leaders in a worldwide leadership training meeting tomorrow.
The handbook will be introduced in a special training meeting originating at Church headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah, and broadcast to 95 countries in every time zone and in 22 languages during the course of the day.
As a worldwide church dealing with many complex issues across the globe, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints promotes broad, foundational principles that have worldwide application. The Church regards the declaration of the Utah Compact as a responsible approach to the urgent challenge of immigration reform. It is consistent with important principles for which we stand:
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints issued the following statement of support today following the announcement of the Utah Compact, a document backed by a broad spectrum of community leaders:
"What the Scriptures Teach Us About Adversity," by S. Michael Wilcox, Deseret Book, 2010, 152 pages, $19.99
When S. Michael Wilcox began dissecting the scriptures to find insights for his new book, "What the Scriptures Teach Us About Adversity," he had no idea how much those principles would come to mean to him and his family.
The Book of Mormon is a volume of holy scripture comparable to the Bible and is a record of God's dealings with His chosen people in the New World. The main purpose of the Book of Mormon is "to the convincing of Jew and Gentile that JESUS is the CHRIST, the ETERNAL GOD, manifesting himself unto all nations." (Book of Mormon Title Page) It was written by ancient American prophets for our day (Mormon 8:35) and is an American testament of the Lord Jesus Christ.
@LDS4Life71 I will not stand, and let you lead others to Hell, I will stand for Truth against your lies, I will be a light in the world of darkness, I will stand for the True words of God against the words mr.Smith made up.
@Domodeath Again talk to the hand, because you are just ignorant and listening to the lies from your pastor. You are not born again, and you have not entered the straight gate according to Matt 7. Repent.
@omiolo Thats not what Scripture teaches! Man may say one thing, but God says something oppersite! Let me tell you about judgement day, On judgement day
a mormon comes before the throne, and he is asked "why should I let you into Heaven?" by the one seated on the throne. The mormon replies "I went to church, I feed the hungry, I was kind to others, I never got drunk and I believed in you all my life." Then a Christian goes before the throne and he is asked the same thing, and the Christian says
@Domodeath why don't you post the scripture? So we can both see EXACTLY what it says. Your types have a tendency to IGNORE what the scripture says EXACTLY.
Continuing a recent general conference time tradition, the Church History Library is hosting a "Treasures of the Collection" open house for the public. The open house begins Friday, Oct. 1, and continues Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
I think we should all just grow up and follow teachings of kindness, respectfulness, and sensitivity. we should all just listen and then accept other peoples' opinions and ask that they do the same to us.
Each time I watch this video I am impressed by the simple yet bold message it declares. It is a perfect description of how truth and good are treated in our day, as it was treated when the Savior himself was walking the earth teaching it!
The most irrefutable evidence to date I can think of is the location of NAHUM/NAHOM located on the anciently used frankincense trail that was traversed by Israelites and others in Lehi's day. This information was unknown to the western world till much later. Making Joseph Smiths's claims not coincidence.
Sorry guys but I kind of got tired of getting emails with comments from martlut so I just blocked him. I am pretty sure who he is. The guy has several YouTube accounts and every once in awhile opens a new account to throw some spam under my videos. I believe he has some mental problems (after receiving some PMs with threatening I even contacted the authorities a few years back). Anyways, sorry to interrupt your conversation.
I agree...you did the best thing..and you are right..this guy martlut has some serious mental problems and I too have seen other accounts of his. He should be blocked everywhere because he is not contributing anything good in the form of dialouge nor is his comments uplifting - instead he is full of hate and lies.
@martlut Robert Thompson and Jon Venables on 12 February 1993 tortured and murdered 2yr old James Patrick Bulger, Mary Flora Bell killed 2 little boys 3 and 4 yrs in 1968, Geoffrey Robert Dobbs committed 116 child sex offences over a 28 year period, Peter Dupas convicted in 2007 of killing 3 women, was known to cut the breasts from his victims. Bevan von Einem, convicted child murderer.
Mormon Sunday school teacher Thomas Eugene Dawkins was accused of "the worst case of sexual abuse I've ever seen during my 30 years in law enforcement," according to Richard County Sheriff Frank Powell of Elgin, South Carolina.
Okay we get it, you can copy and paste like no other.
Scroll down and see my post about your psychological projections. You need help and the first step is to get off computer, head down to local police department and confess. Seriously, this is very disturbing.
@martlut You posted on my profile page: "Um Mormons arent Christians that's a teaching of old joe smith the convicted glass looker and murderer he would turn over in his grave and have to be baptized again if he herd you call yourself christian"
Why would you not want everyone to see this? Could it be that Joseph was not convicted of glasslooking OR murder and you would be called on your lies. Or is it that you didn't want people to see how nasty you are to your fellow man?
"I'm not sure how a child can cope with something like this." Dawkins was accused of brutally torturing and raping a girl over a two-year period starting when she was 13, terrifying her into submission by cutting her, showing her body parts he kept in jars, and threatening to dissect her.
Much of the abuse occurred during church outings, or during privately arranged meetings. Dawkins denied guilt, instead, according to reports, "praying and reading from the Book of Mormon." South Carolina Circuit County Judge John Hamilton Smith termed the abuse of a "sadistic and macabre nature." Dawkins was found guilty and sentenced to 60 years in prison in November 1986. (Source: [Columbia, South Carolina] The State, 4/25/86; 11/8/86)
Former Mormon missionary Arthur Gary Bishop, 36, was executed on June 10th in Utah for killing 5 boys (ages 4-13) for sexual gratification, saying he was "misled by Satan." (New York Times 6/10/88)
But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou FOOL, shall be in danger of hell fire.
YOUR QUOTE: "wow you one liners are really good now put them into context you fool"
MY REPLY: Matt. 5: 22
But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou FOOL, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Robert D. Campbell, 20, a Mormon missionary from Idaho, was CHARGED with sexually assaulting two Tennessee sisters, ages 7 and 9, at a prayer meeting. David Campbell, of Nashville, president of the missionary program, told the press "That's not true." The thirty two year old woman said "I'll probably be excommunicated over this." She said David Campbell advised her not to call the police, although he denies that too.
“Ye STIFFNECKED and uncircumcised IN HEART and EARS, YE DO ALWAYS RESIST the HOLY GHOST: as your fathers did, SO DO YE.
Which of the PROPHETS have not your fathers PERSECUTED and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:
Who have RECIEVED the law BY THE DISPOSITION OF ANGELS, and have NOT KEPT IT”.
She also said church officials called her an hour after the missionary's release from jail asking permission for her daughters to "take a lie detector test." Said the mother: "He can deny it all he wants to. He told me not to tell anybody, and not to report it... He said the church's attorneys would look into it. (Idaho Statesman July 21, 1988)
Makes all sense now. What we are seeing with martlut is a classic case of psychological projection.
As you see from martlut posts he absolutely obsessed with any "news" involving pedophilia and sexual abuse.
We won't even discuss the Catholic Church's abuse, but someone who is a predator will show these signs of psychological projections for the guilt plagues their mind.
martlut, I can only recommend a confession not with your local priest, but a confession to the local police department.
An undisclosed out-of-court settlement was made by the Mormon Church to Cynthia Brown of Mesa, Az., who accused the church of failing to report to law enforcement authorities that a man had molested her daughter, age 2. A July 1988 ruling by the Arizona Court of Appeals had compelled two Mormon bishops and another church official to testify about conversations they had with RICHARD KENNETH RAY
@martlut We don't even know this Ray, however, we all know the cover up by Pope Ratzinger of the pedophile priests and his reshuffling of them around the globe to create more atheists by molesting them.
about molesting children. Ray, 47, was sentenced in Sept. 1984 to 61 years in prison for molesting 5 girls, including Brown's daughter. (Arizona Republic, 1/11/90)

Sobbing Mormon Sunday School teacher John Allen Midgett asked for God's forgiveness before being sentenced to 30 years in state prison for molesting & terrorizing 8 girls, ages 5-10. 2 Tim. 4: 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
You are a liar..we love and believe the Bible to be of God as far as it is translated correctly and from the original men who gave it to us - we cannot trust it is perfect after going through the CORRUPT hands of the Catholics who twisted and corrupted the TRUTH..thus the LORD restored the CHURCH.
@imtherealthing To be fair, there were many who simply made translation errors. They were dealilng with texts that were many centuries old. Even so they many not have known the cultural meanings of words. For some words have more than one meaning, or they change over time. Or a phrase is not meant to be taken literal. Such as Isiah who uses the phrase, "all the nations of the world".
I am working on my MA in Early Christianity my focus being 1st-3rd century Christianity. I have studied Classical Greek and Koine (Attic) Greek (Biblical Greek) and Classical Hebrew. I am aware of all the errors made by the scribes and then some. I agree, but nevertheless many evangelicals are IGNORANT or cease to be honest in thier evaluation of the Bible - there are many verses that have become corrupt or are in dispute - that is FACT - FACTS they need to deal with honestly.
@imtherealthing Orthodox Jews also have blinders on as well as many other religious sects. backyardprofessor has a source for early christian writers condemning the Jews for destroying many books of scripture as well.
Navajo Mormon Tried For Molesting Girl. In August 1989 George P. Lee was charged with the sexual abuse of a girl, 12, his daughter's friend. He surrendered to police but was released with orders not to have contact with anyone under 18. He appeared in court in September and asked for more time before his preliminary hearing.
@martlut Again there are volumes of abuse by the Catholic church. You can pull a handful of disobedient LDS, but the fact remains, the Catholic is not the same organization that Christ set up on the earth, but a counterfeit.
He is accused of fondling the girl, now 16, in her home and on trips. Lee contends he is innocent and the charges are part of a big plot by the church to excommunicate him, which they did in 1989 for polygamy and immorality and later apostasy, before the current charges were brought forward. Lee was also dismissed as high school principal in Tuba City for insubordination. If convicted, Lee could be sentenced to life in prison. Source: Sunstone, 12/93
Scottsdale, AZ. A Mormon bishop, Arlo Kay Atkin, 38, who was excommunicated from the church for sexual misconduct, is being sued by a Mesa woman who says their sexual relationship beginning when she was 15 resulted in a pregnancy and a child, now 4. The suit alleges negligence by the church in trusting him with minors. Atkin, now of Ventura, CA, pleaded guilty in February 1991 to sexual contact with the woman and was sentenced to 4 months in jail. Source: Arizona Republic, 7/8/94
Utah. The first Native American named as a Mormon general authority, George P. Lee, 51, pleaded guilty to attempted sexual abuse of a girl, now 17. He entered his plea as he was on the verge of being tried on a felony charge of aggravated sexual abuse of the girl,
Here is a scholarly proof of your corrupted, man-made Trinity. The Encyclopedia Americana: "Christianity derived from Judaism and Judaism was strictly Unitarian [believing that God is one person]. The road which led from Jerusalem to Nicaea was scarcely a straight one. Fourth century Trinitarianism did not reflect accurately early Christian teaching regarding the nature of God; it was, on the contrary, a deviation from this teaching." -- (1956), Vol. XXVII, p. 294L.
who lived across the street from him. Lee was sentenced to 18 months' probation, fined $1,850, and ordered to undergo counseling and pay for his victim's counseling. Brother Lee told her he had fallen in love with her, and that it was OK with God, the girl reported. (Arizona Republic, 10/12/94; Salt Lake Tribune, 10/11/94)
The New Encyclopedia Britannica: "Neither the word Trinity, nor the explicit doctrine as such, appears in the New Testament, nor did Jesus and his followers intend to contradict the Shema in the Old Testament: (Deut. 6:4). . . The doctrine developed gradually over several centuries and through many controversies . . . By the end of the 4th century . . . the doctrine of the Trinity took substantially the form it has maintained ever since." -- Micropædia, Vol. X, p. 126. (1976)
Jackson, MI. A Mormon bishop's clerk, Bruce A. McAskill, 66, with a past rape conviction, faces a minimum sentence of 5 years in prison after a judge found him guilty of kissing and fondling a boy, 8, whom he was babysitting. The boy's mother attended McAskill's church. A police officer who was called to the scene said McAskill told him "he didn't see any problem" with an adult sleeping naked with a child. NAME SUPPRESSED BY COURT ORDER, Brisbane Mormon school teacher, scout master and Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints minister. Receives 15 month jail sentence in Brisbane District Court after being convicted on 3 child sex charges, including 3 counts of indecent assault and 2 of indecent dealing, against boy, aged 12, at Mt Cotton scout camp, south of Brisbane. Court hears defendant, of Manly West, Brisbane, assaulted boy at scout camp. (CM 951209) (Queensland, Australia, 1995).
The deity of Jesus Christ was decided upon by a vote . A few hundred church leaders gathered at Nicea in 325 AD. to vote on the matter. (the vote was loaded, because most of the opposing bishops were either KILLED or EXHILED or excluded!) Representation for the TRUTH about the Godhead was allowed by only a small fraction of those TRUE Christians...we lost the TRUTH then to the pagan trinity of man.
KAY Stephen, 56 (Queensland, Australia, 1996). Brisbane Mormon school teacher, scoutmaster and Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints member. Receives 15 month jail sentence in Brisbane District Court after pleading guilty to 5 child sex charges, including 3 counts of indecent treatment and 2 of indecent dealing, against 3 school students, aged under 12, in 1993 while teacher at southside Brisbane school.
Court hears Kay assaulted boys on school premises. Also receives additional 6 month sentence in 1996 for indecent assault of boy, aged under 16, in 1993 at boy scout camp, QLD.
@DrPorterRockwell The deeper question is: Where does all this hatred stem? He must have some injury from a saint or perhaps indoctrination into anti-LDS beliefs...or has he been led by the Devil himself to fight against a Church that so obviously does not promote or condone this kind of sexual misconduct? Hmmm...
A teen-age girl testified in Provo, Utah, that her father, John Chaney, leader of a Mormon polygamy sect, repeatedly had sex with her and forced her to marry a middle-aged man when she was 13. (unknown, 6/27/97)
Why are you afraid to answer those docrtrinal questions put to you about the trinity?...ah yes..another so-called "expert" on my faith, but one who can't even defend his own faith...for it is easier to cut and paste objections from the internet than to actually "THINK"...too funny.
BAKERSFIELD - A Mormon missionary working as a reading volunteer at an elementary school was arrested on suspicion of molesting an 8-year-old girl at the school. Jason Chad Larsen, 20, is alleged to have fondled the child in the school cafeteria which was filled with other children and reading volunteers. The girl reported the incident to a teacher's aide. The principal called the girl's parents and then the police.
The Rev. David Kingston, a leader of the Latter-Day Church of God, a polygamous Mormon offshoot in Utah, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for marrying his 16-year-old niece against her will as his 15th wife. (unknown, 7/3/99)
NAME SUPPRESSED BY COURT ORDER, Ipswich practising Mormon. Receives 7 year jail sentence in Ipswich District Court after being found guilty on 2 counts of raping his stepdaughter, aged 14 to 16, between 1986 and 1989. Court hears defendant, who quoted Bible passage concerning lust to support his case, forced victim to have sexual intercourse so he could show her "how it was done". Name SUPPRESSED BY COURT ORDER to protect stepdaughter. (CM 020817) (Queensland, Australia, 2001).
Wow..you pull only a FEW mormons out of a hat who did some bad things...we can pull THOUSANDS of Catholic priests ALONE about pedophilia...not to mention the millions of catholics who are thieves, murderers, liars, adulterers, etc...don't even dare compare.
@imtherealthing Of course, there are a lot more catholics than LDsaints. Corruption and Evil do not play favorites but they do seem to root and grow in so many places :(
Multnomah County, OR. A Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints high priest, Franklin Richard Curtis was convicted of sexually abusing a boy repeatedly in 1990 and 1991, in Portland, when he was 11
. Curtis became a member of the Rocky Butte Ward in Portland, where he sexually abused at least five children, according to a lawsuit. He was confronted by the Rocky Butte bishop and admitted the molestations. The bishop kept it quiet until parents began to complain, and then he only reported to Salt Lake City superiors of the church, not police, the complaint states.
Then Curtis joined the Brentwood Ward, where he told then-Bishop Gregory Lee Foster that he had abused in the past, and Foster kept it quiet because Curtis said he'd repented, according to the complaint. Foster had long known that Curtis also had abused his own stepchildren but still invited Curtis to teach Sunday school, the lawsuit states. (The Oregonian, February 9, 2001)
Fictional people mentioned in a fabricated story made a non-existent journey to some vague geographical area where they formed enormous nations, fought massive wars in undisclosed locations, wrote contradictory records in an unknown language and subsequently disappeared without leaving a single shred of evidence they ever existed.
@martlut You believe that Christ performed miracles but that the miracle of the Book of Mormon could not be true? Or do you not see Him as the Savior but simply as a teacher of morals?
Salt Lake City, UT. A child sexual abuse victim filed suit against The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Monday, accusing Mormon leaders of providing a safe harbor for the pedophile who abused him. @LDS4Life71 The articles shows nothing but conjecture no proof whatsevet just some Mormons wild eyed nonsense trying to prove the unprovable because it never existed he would have more luck in proving the cookie monster
@martlut They aren't facts. Joseph Smith was acquitted of all his enemies charges, and you are lying. let's talk about history of the Catholic church, and we'll see who is wrong. How about the thousands of Filipinos that were killed because they didn't want to convert to CATHOLICISM, and the hundreds of thousands that were put to death in South and Central America because they didn't believe your cult?
@LDS4Life71 really they werent killed by catholic but by the Spanish government then the untied states government to Christianize them. How ever when the pres did it the country was catholic . and the Spanish the people Filipinos wished to replace them with Jesuits and other catholics sorry epic failure on your part again or should I say epic lie on your part
@LDS4Life71 a forgery too bad you cant come up with the proof for that one. I guess the court room old joey boy made his confession was fake as well. Or for that matter the Bank he ran in which he was chased out of town fro stealing everyone's money
@martlut There's a reason you're not posting a source. You can't make the opposing side of the argument post a source that they don't know exists. So please support your argument on this point or concede.

The most irrefutable evidence to date I can think of is the location of NAHUM/NAHOM located on the anciently used frankincense trail that was traversed by Israelites and others in Lehi's day. This information was unknown to the western world till much later. Making Joseph Smiths's claims not coincidence.

Such as Isiah who uses the phrase, "all the nations of the world".

On the devil-inspired doctrine of the “Trinity”

@LDS4Life71 fake really now your trying to prove court records are fake gee
martlut 1 year ago
@martlut There are no court records. They were a forgery.
LDS4Life71 1 year ago
@LDS4Life71 a forgery too bad you cant come up with the proof for that one. I guess the court room old joey boy made his confession was fake as well. Or for that matter the Bank he ran in which he was chased out of town fro stealing everyone's money

@martlut haha get real. There isn't room enough for all the atrocities the Catholic church committed against humankind around the globe, idiot.
All the rapes, plunders, and stealings, and abortions of nuns, and child molesting priests. You are an embarrassment.

@martlut
You must be an "expert" in LDS history since you think you words are "truth" and "fact" with absolutely no source.

@martlut
Court records? Well? Where are they?
Not going to post a source are you.
DrPorterRockwell 1 year ago
@DrPorterRockwell they are directly from the court to bad your to shallow to investigate further but you'd just rather deny its simpler for you.
martlut 1 year ago
@martlut
Directly from the court, yet all of the thousands of anti-Mormons do not have this on their websites. Interesting.
DrPorterRockwell 1 year ago
@DrPorterRockwell court records are public documents available at the court hose for anyone to read
martlut 1 year ago
@martlut
"hose"? I have to be a hose to find them?
There aren't any court records, nice try.
DrPorterRockwell 1 year ago
@DrPorterRockwell no records for those who don't look for them that is sorry they are their putting your head in the sand wont make them go away
martlut 1 year ago
@martlut There's a reason you're not posting a source. You can't make the opposing side of the argument post a source that they don't know exists. So please support your argument on this point or concede.

@martlut
If he was proved guilty of these things you claim, then where is the court record? After all it is public record. Well?

@martlut 2 thesalonians 2:1-3 The original church underwent extra biblical changes of doctrines. And the church apostacized from the teachings of the apostles after their martyrdoms.
There is no line of authority from Peter in the RCC or any of its afiliates.
Acts 20:29 For not long after the apostles martrydoms shall ravenous wolves enter, not sparing the flock.
Matt 16:18 doesn't contradict our faith, because we put the scripture back into context.

@LDS4Life71 what extra biblical changes you clowns always say this but never offer any pfroof. Gee Did you prove Joe smiths prophecy about the men living on the moon how about Brigham young with the people living on the Sun .Just a bunch of lying devils you morons are
