GaryMule.....Nice video (could be a little louder but very good!) I like how you point out that you just didn't stock all this stuff overnight. It took you a few years to build up but the main thing is to just start with whatever you can do each week. Most people will get more and more into storing supplies as they see their supplies grow. Kind of like a snowball effect. It starts out very small, but can fairly quickly build into something you can rely on for a long time! Get seeds too!
There's a lot of wasted space between the top of the food and the bottom of the shelf above. have you checked out the racks at goodthingsinstore.shelfreliance(dot)com/food-rotation-systems To get a great deal on the price, contact (top right corner, black bar) and purchase directly through the consultant for the lowest price. Also, the food is great. Earn free food for sharing the site with friends.
@myusernameisluc Funny you mention the water bottles, I have a video about what happened to them all. I do have a berkey water filter. Long story short, these types of jugs are not a good idea.
@GaryMule I LOVE seeing people reuse their empty food grade bottles to store anything from rice & beans (using a funnel of course) to good old water! People need to realise what a great storage vessel 2 ltr bottles are, and how well they protect your food. We put pasta, beans rice, oats, salt, sugar...you name it! But those items in a huge bulk bag & then parcel them out into 2 ltrs. That way, your not risking ruining your big bag with moisture or bugs and your stuff stays safer and better.
@Pablo113 Storing soda is ok for about 4 to 6 months. But try thinking more longterm for beverages. If you get drink mixes in the foil lined packets (koolaid and all the ones you mix into 20oz waters) they can last many years and still taste fine. Try to look at your storage as stuff you'll never be able to buy again for many years if things get bad. Then you'll be set!
@AaronCountee So the government spys don't hear me...just kidding. It was late at night and I didn't want to wake anyone. I have another video that shows it and is louder. Sorry
If I didn't live with sheeple, thats how my storage would look. But unfortunately im stuck with a small closet. Theres only so much you can store. I have a couple big boxes of MREs, some weapons and silver. My safes take up valuable food space, but its needed.
I love your setup and stock. You are definitely set. I havent seen any other vids from you but this is enough to subscribe.
These videos r really helpful but wonder why more r not storing things such as pasta's in critter free jars etc. I'm worried about inviting rodents or having everything destroyed by flooding? I have seen some rooms totally covered in heavy plastic. He said he started 4 yrs ago so I hope the baby formula etc has been monitored for exp dates. I beed a better system. I am nowhere near where he is - I started 6mths ago. Seems daunting but seeing these clips keeps me on track. Thanks for sharing.
@LoyaltotheUSA Thanks. The pasta and other things are rotated often, what is not rotated is stored in mylar and buckets. I started my food storage 4 years ago, but this is not the same food, it also get rotated and added too.
Most of these things have at least a year shelf life. We store what we eat, so it gets rotated. Also, I eat things after the date, it is a "best by" date meaning it is guarenteed to taste good by that date.
very nice, not only are you prepared for anything, but your investment has increased in value immensly, very nice to see that you have taken the steps to provide for your children.everyone i talk to with kids dont get it and dont have more than a weeks worth of food, and absolutly no water.
Looks great. Having a food pantry gives you peace of mind. If you lose your job or have a major expense pop up you can lean on your food pantry to get you thru. I guarantee you food prices are going up and up so look at it as a investment , its not losing value at all.

Filling all those water bottles must be a pain in the ass, and take up a lot of room. A water filter isn't an option for you?

@martykean1967 I agree. Bottled Soda doesn't stay fresh too long, better off buying canned soda, if you must have soda?
Pablo113 1 month ago
@martykean1967 There is also packets of dry gatorade, milk, hot chocolate, and I even store Emergen-C powders for the vitamins.
