Hello Mickey is 6 he will be 7years old on 11-2-12 .He is still very much a little chatter box but I haven't posted any new videos. thanks for the comment and intrest in how My litle chatter box Mickey budgie is doing.
So how did you make them talk?! I always wanted to teach my budgie how to talk but he will fly over to his crazy girlfriend in the cage :( he won't pay attention
@Mr8063 Try to video him/her use a head set you may be able to make something out .Budgies talk very fast if you slow your speach when you talk to him they will talk slower when they learn what you want to teach them.
@warboop thank you very much..but unfortunately just day before yesterday my budgie flew away 'coz of my friend's mistake..and now i m very sad and worried abt him...he was with me for more than 3 months...i don't know how he would survive in outer world..i m keeping that window open day and night with the hope that he will come back..:(

You can't impose your expectations of a birds personality on it. The bird will have its' own personaity and if it isn't compatable with you, then it is the wrong bird. Take the time to find the bird that is right for you.
You said it so true same goes for the bird if it wants to talk or not. they deside to talk or not .Mickey wanted me he came up to the window and he was looking like take me home so he knew just what he wanted and he knew how to get it lol by staring at me with hthose little blue eyes
How did you teach him to whistle? Sad, I can't whistle myself like that. But I taught my budgie to do kiss sound. lol It's always trying to kiss me when sitting on my shoulder, now.
I would whistle songs to him it is easy when you know how to whistle.they will learn the sounds they like the most that is even the words you don't want them to like some bad words mickey likes he picked up .
Oh yes, he is a talker! I am very impressed. I feel he is even saying things that I can't hear to understand. On first listening, yes I could hear him talking!!!! Fun bird for you! Lucky.
damn i used to have a bird this same color when i was younger...then after a year it died....i think someone had sprayed something in the house when their was a party that day, these birds are real sensative to aerosols....I was pissed off!!! i was all attatched to the bird too.
hey i think i'm getting a parakeet. i can't find anything about potty training except its really hard to do. when you let them around the house do they go to there cage to go or do they just go wherever they want please respond. awesome vid by the way
Well I have to say Mickey has 3 fav spots he sits 1 on his cage 2 on his play gym 3 my shoulder oops 4 the kitchen faucet.And he will poop on those 4 spots Most budgies poop every 15 minuets soo they say .I sent you a note in your inbox

He talks like that all the time.They are all very smart and as long as you take the time to play with them they will treat you just the same .They are a flock bird so if you only have the one you need to spend lots of time with it and keep it in the living room wher everyone is .being mindful of windows and doors .I will send you a comment to give you more info that may help you.

Wonderful little bird! My cockatoo won't sit and chat like that, but he does communicate with me...when happy he says "So good!" When angry or unhappy he says "Not so good!" He will ask for "water" when out of his cage, or tell my husband "I'll GET you!" (jealous!) He calls my son Garbage Head, and he calls himself Gurch.The only bad words are the 4 letter word for feces and ..um...a female dog, if you get my drift. He says that when angry!!

Budgies are in the top when it comes to talking birds, Greys and Amazons being better but I was told they are in the top 10 for talking. Yours might be higher than that!

This Is TRUE budgies DO talk !!! you work with them talk slow drage out your words slow and they will pick them up Mickey is talking in this video you can hear and see him can't you It is NOT FAKE. He was 3 months when i got him froma pet store so I got him use to my hands at the same time teaching him to say hellow then added hello mickey .He learned in a month to talk and go on my finger.

Thanks I got him at about 3 months old and talked to him every day two times a dray 20 minutes at a time training him to say hellow Mickey when he learnd that I add more words each time. But Mickey is always in the living room so he hears every one talk .I am also home with him all day and always talked to him saying do you want to go get coffee. when i was getting coffee or do you want a bath .Oh that's good coffee .He picked it up.There you have it .
You would have to play all the talking Mickey budgie videos over and over lol the draw back of that is your budgie would sound like mickey and say Mickey budgie lol There is one person that has her budgie talking like mickey and 2 other budgies from the net very cute.
He had a sudden stroke. It was 20 years ago and I'll never forget him. I'm thinking about adopting a parakeet and Mickey has really inspired me. Thanks, warboop!

SOme people do But I don't The only thing it is done for is safty of windows and going out doors .I feel that Mickey got very stressed when I had his cliped the first time they grew back after I got him,He didn't talk for 3 days after so I will never do it again.That is something you need to deside on your own .for me NO WAY for mickey ever again.But some people say they Have to .

hello, i got a i think 4-5 month old budgie that is tame. i clipped his wings yesterday and he cant fly high now which is good. i would like to know how u earn their trust? i was using millet on him to keep him their and so on but how do u gain trust and how do u play with them? i play peekaboo but he gives up half the time
Aw I don't clip mickey anymore it was so hurt full the first time i had him cliped he didn't talk for 3 days never again for me.I would get him use to my hadn going in the cage when he is use to that get him on your finger work on that for a while a few weeks it could take all the while you do that say hello what ever it's name is telling him It's ok then his name is a slow child like voice.he will pick up his name and learn to get on your finger never force him or yell at him be soothing

No mickey Is My first. But I have a sister who had them for years.She had a few live like 10 years they mostly live like up 5 to 8 years some very healthy ones could live longer so I am told.Thank yu for the nice comment Kurse08
He is beautiful and so easy to understand. They are such intelligent birds--I had one and he would talk to--would say Love you Mommy, ok, pretty bird, I can do it, etc. I lost my little guy over 8 years ago and it felt like I lost my own child. I still miss him and cry over him when I think of him. He was my baby, friend, and confidant. He always knew when I was upset and he would come up and kiss my nose and chat to me to make me feel better.

Sometimes Mickey will do just the same .But this was the very first video he just went off and I got the camera all that i did was put the mpgs together in order as he did this.
somtimes ill just stit down infrount of my parakeet and she just chirps and chirps and chirps for like a half an hour! and i just say "oh very interesting" "oh realy" "oh feefee you must of had an exiting day!" :D

Oh that's not very good .Are you feeding it the same seed or foods the breeder or pet store was feeding him??They like fruit and vegies also try some with him cut it up into pieces and put it on a paper plate Show him it is food like you would show a little kid how to eat it does help .Show him the sead also and say num num NO joking this does help they are like little kids.If it doesn't eat I sure would get it to the vet!!Or talk to the breeder or pet store to see if they know why.

Yes they can not smell strong orders it can kill them .I use hair spray but not in the same room and vented well .

He was 3 months when i got him froma pet store so I got him use to my hands at the same time teaching him to say hellow then added hello mickey .He learned in a month to talk and go on my finger.

Thanks I got him at about 3 months old and talked to him every day two times a dray 20 minutes at a time training him to say hellow Mickey when he learnd that I add more words each time. But Mickey is always in the living room so he hears every one talk .I am also home with him all day and always talked to him saying do you want to go get coffee. when i was getting coffee or do you want a bath .Oh that's good coffee .He picked it up.There you have it .

You would have to play all the talking Mickey budgie videos over and over lol the draw back of that is your budgie would sound like mickey and say Mickey budgie lol There is one person that has her budgie talking like mickey and 2 other budgies from the net very cute.

He had a sudden stroke. It was 20 years ago and I'll never forget him. I'm thinking about adopting a parakeet and Mickey has really inspired me. Thanks, warboop!

SOme people do But I don't The only thing it is done for is safty of windows and going out doors .I feel that Mickey got very stressed when I had his cliped the first time they grew back after I got him,He didn't talk for 3 days after so I will never do it again.That is something you need to deside on your own .for me NO WAY for mickey ever again.But some people say they Have to .

Work with him 2 times a day say his name hello mickey talk slow and clear in a child like voice.he was about 4 months when he started to talk .

hello, i got a i think 4-5 month old budgie that is tame. i clipped his wings yesterday and he cant fly high now which is good. i would like to know how u earn their trust? i was using millet on him to keep him their and so on but how do u gain trust and how do u play with them? i play peekaboo but he gives up half the time

Aw I don't clip mickey anymore it was so hurt full the first time i had him cliped he didn't talk for 3 days never again for me.I would get him use to my hadn going in the cage when he is use to that get him on your finger work on that for a while a few weeks it could take all the while you do that say hello what ever it's name is telling him It's ok then his name is a slow child like voice.he will pick up his name and learn to get on your finger never force him or yell at him be soothing

No mickey Is My first. But I have a sister who had them for years.She had a few live like 10 years they mostly live like up 5 to 8 years some very healthy ones could live longer so I am told.Thank yu for the nice comment Kurse08

He is beautiful and so easy to understand. They are such intelligent birds--I had one and he would talk to--would say Love you Mommy, ok, pretty bird, I can do it, etc. I lost my little guy over 8 years ago and it felt like I lost my own child. I still miss him and cry over him when I think of him. He was my baby, friend, and confidant. He always knew when I was upset and he would come up and kiss my nose and chat to me to make me feel better.

somtimes ill just stit down infrount of my parakeet and she just chirps and chirps and chirps for like a half an hour! and i just say "oh very interesting" "oh realy" "oh feefee you must of had an exiting day!" :D

Oh that's not very good .Are you feeding it the same seed or foods the breeder or pet store was feeding him??They like fruit and vegies also try some with him cut it up into pieces and put it on a paper plate Show him it is food like you would show a little kid how to eat it does help .Show him the sead also and say num num NO joking this does help they are like little kids.If it doesn't eat I sure would get it to the vet!!Or talk to the breeder or pet store to see if they know why.

lmao I love it when my cockatiel goes off on a tanget- For a second there i thought he was like my bird.. a hand talker. But he just tucked it in his feathers.
I always say my bird is Italian since he has to raise his claw and wiggle his fingers as he rambles. Heheheeh
