  • my grandfather served in WW II in the Navy he passed away a couple years back now. I will never forget when those in uniform performed taps at his funeral. I got to talk to him before he passed. I was ready for him to go. Until Taps. WE all where ready for him to pass. But when Taps was played there wasn't a dry eye to be seen. I give you the up most respect to be able to do this at a funeral of a loved one. Even in heaven I bet you're pa cried knowing you followed his last wish out.I know I did

  • I got a lump in my throat just reading the description, and went into full blown tears when you played. This was beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

  • good job, that must have been hard. There was no way I could have done that at my grandpas funeral. I couldnt imagine trying to do that at your fathers.

  • God bless you.

  • i could never do what you did. you were very strong to do that for your father.

  • Remember him as a father, remember him as a mentor, remember him as a hero, remember him as he always protect you and the country!

  • God Bless you! A great tribute, I'm sure your Dad would be proud of you. I had played the trumpet, but don't think I could be emotionally strong enough to do it, I commend you...

    May he rest in peace..

  • Jeremy, you have been blessed to have a father who has you for a son. Your Dad is hero (although he would probably blush and deny this) and he will never be forgotten. Peace my brother!

  • yes, i also cried when i watched this and died a little on the inside too

  • The most emotional and passionate I have ever heard ...

  • I'm a semi-professional trumpet player, have been playing for 15 years (I'm 24) and have had a few college courses in music and I've always been very passionate about music. In 2006 my grandmother passed away and in 2011 my grandfather (her husband) passed away as well. Both were WWII veterans and I played taps at both of their funerals.

I just wanted to say from some who has at least an idea as to what you were going through that YOU ARE THE MAN. May your father proudly rest in peace.

  • Your rendition of Taps sent a powerful jolt down my spine.

    Powerful scene and song.

  • I was all ready to critique this but I can't. You did a fine job! I played taps quite a few times when I was younger and it's hard enough when it's someone you don't know but when it's family it has to be incredibly hard. Job well done young man!

  • I cried at the end when i read his words to his dad ... rip sir

  • I love this video!!! i feel sorry that families have to go through this all the time.

  • GOD REST IN PEACE of your father......... i used to have a grandpa who used to be in the military and he died on christmas eve and the military people played taps for 5 mins and i was trying to hold my tears, but i wanted to salute my grandpa and i didn't. god rest in peace for your dad and................. my grandpa. also i want to die trying to save AMERICA so i could see my grandpa in heaven and bring the soldiers home

  • Your TAPS was emotional and beautiful. You can hear the emotion from your trumpet. I am very sorry for your loss, but what an Honor it must had felt to be able to play for your father. I had to stand up and walk away from the computer before I had started crying like a baby.

God bless you, your family, and your father, who know resides in Heaven. Thank you for sharing this.

  • WOW.....

  • I cannot imagine the great pain you felt as you said your good-bye, but I can beleive, that your Father was, is and will foerver be a HERO! My sincere condolences.

  • I bet that he was proud of you! Thanks for sharing this. God bless America! God bless our brothers and sisters who gave it all and the ones who have gave their health and bodies for us and our country!!

  • MY GOD I KNOW HOW YOU MUST FEEL....RIP

  • R.I.P. to your Papa....you made me cry.

  • GREAT JOB! may he RIP

  • That was absolutely GORGEOUS. Join the Navy band and you'll do that every night. You'll be your base's official taps player. Trust me, you'd love it. I wish I had pursued music in the Navy. Instead I'm combat systems.

    God bless you.

  • Oh sweetheart, If your father was ANYthing like you your are a living example of what a great man he had to have been. Remember God is the father of the fatherless

  • God Bless you sir ! R.I.P. God Bless America !

  • I am so touched, and so grateful that I was able to watch you watching your dad honored in such a way...peace be with you.

  • I've played taps many times and every time it is so emotional. I can truly sympathize with you and I salute you for the tribute you gave your father. My father too was in the Air Force. I lost him in 1999 and when they played taps, I couldn't stop crying. Watching your video brought back those emotions and as I type this I am wiping tears from my eyes. As many times as I have played taps on my trumpet, I don't think I could have done what you did. That was beautiful.

  • You are a very honorable man and I can tell you honestly that I know how hard it is to do something like that during a funeral for a loved one because before my great grandfather passed away he made me promise him that no matter what happened that I would remain strong and be there for my family to love and support them so during his funeral I was a paulbearer and silently comforted my family members while fighting back tears and I was only 14 at the time

    God has his soul

  • I am so sorry for your loss. That was a spectacular tribute to your father and im sure he'd be so proud of you if he heard that

  • God Bless You!

  • Thank you

  • So sorry to hear about your father. It is so nice to see though. So many lose their father without a chance to say good bye. Families are torn apart over unimportant arguments and don't even see their loss until it's too late. I lost my father not speaking to him and it is the one thing I've ever done I wish I could take back. Don't ever lose sight of what's important. I'm sure he's still proud of you.

  • Brother, thank you for posting this. You are one strong soul. My heart goes out to you and your family. Our nation owes an eternal debt of gratitude to him, and the loved ones he left behind.

  • Thank you for posting this moving clip. I'm grateful for your father's service to our country and very sorry for your loss. Sad as it is, it is still uplifting to see a fine father being honored this way by a fine son. God's peace to you and your family.

  • Having heard Taps at my own father's Air Force funeral, at military funerals throughout my life, and sometimes while playing bagpipes at a service, I draw more of a personal tie with this bugle call than I'd like, however your rendition is simply amazing. It gave me goosebumps to hear it. From a Naval Officer, I thank you for the support you've provided. Well done. Your father would be proud.

  • i salute you man. alot of my family is prior military. i could say i feel your pain but it would be a lie. God bless you and your family.
