  • oh if classical latin sound as many of you commented, italian language is exactly the same (except from C and G before vowels that we read as "ch" and "J") !! just 4 information, at school we study ecclesiastic latin.. about V and U sounds in classical latin I know that they are quite the same sound.. a sort of "hard" W

  • THANKYOU SO MUCH! I am a new Catholic...was searching for the meanings of these Latin words..Thank God...

  • Classic Latin Sound -> Nostrae -> ae -> ai

    Ecclesiastical Latin Sound -> Nostrae -> ae -> e

  • I thought it would be Nostri, pronounce like the letter i, not pronounce ay. I could be wrong, but thats what I learned.

  • i speak spanish soo is waaaayy too easy for me xD AND THIS IS EXACTLY AS SPANISH

  • "Benedictus", not "Beneductus"!

  • @katerpudy

    This song seems to use the ecclesaistic pronunciation - almost like Italian.

    Properly spoken, he should not say "Ave" as if the "v" was a french or an english "v"; he should say it as if it was "oo". But, this is a classical pronunciation and, if one has to be pointed as right, it shoudl the one which is the nearest to the spoken latin of the ancient world.

  • Thanks for this!

  • gratia *is* pronounced "gratseea" in ecclesiastical Latin.

  • Not in Classical.

  • sorry but gratia isnt gratseea . its gra te a (without s)

  • so terrific!

  • Wow, that was beautiful.
