The Torah and the Old Testament are not identical, if you consider the Old Testament to be what is read today in English, or the King James Bible. The Hebrew Bible is very different in areas, as translated directly from the Hebrew, or in Hebrew itself, that what is read in the Old Testamanet. There are, of course, major similarities.

@DConS81 The Romans were the ones who did the actual crucifying, but Pilate himself washed his hands of it, he gave Jesus back over to the Jews to be crucified. He didn't want anything to do with it. He gave his blessing but that was it. Pilate found no fault in him at all.

In the Bible, the Israelites went into slavery on cargo boats into a land that was strange to them. They also, LOST their heritage and would NOT know who they were until latter times. Of course, by saying that, one must actually mean that people who HAPPENED TO BE JEWISH orgistrated the death of Christ in order to maintain power in a Roman-dominated Judea.
