What angers me is when this was reviewed back in the day it was said to be too similar to R-Type, yet the use and mastery of the Dragon made it not only different to R-Type, but also unique to any other shoot-em-up(save for Saint Dragon & Syvalion). This game is just as original as R-Type was two years earlier. I think IREM should be proud of this classic and re-release it in some way.
Gameplay, music and visuals earns this a place as one of the greaters shooters ever made.

yes i agree..i think its time to relive those beautifull days...and get a nice collection of olad arcade classics to show your future kids whats gaming was like in the olde days ;)

One day, someone on rec.games.video.arcade.collecting posted his Dragon Breed PCB for $35, and in those pre-eBay days, you had to be the first one to email the buyer. It came down to me & another guy who emailed within five minutes of me, and it was decided by a coin toss. I still consider it a lucky find to this day.
That`s just how the yellow and blue power ups work,they are more powerfull than the white and red power-ups,and you can use the dragon as a shield around you as well but just in the yellow and blue ones.
yes,just put the joystick or directional button "up and down" and the tail of the dragon will cover you like a shield but it will only last for few seconds and you have to redo it again.

I tested MAME again and it started to work. I was playing M72 version of this game. Almost as if I was 8 years old again and playing with coin-up. :) Last time I got so frustrated because so many of the ROM-packages are inadequate. Always files missing or the directory should be named differently.

How to do canthat both yellow and blue dragon can get entangled (say around) and pull-rays more powerful than the common?

That`s just how the yellow and blue power ups work,they are more powerfull than the white and red power-ups,and you can use the dragon as a shield around you as well but just in the yellow and blue ones.
