dude.. i know you guys dont have the guitars turned up very loud, but the sound joe gets out of that guitar is not human given the room conditions. gah! if only i had enough time on my hands to practice 24/7 and play with the genres best artists.. if only.. lucky mike.
People says that shredders don't have spirit, feeling in theyr play, this video can demostrate the opposite, great job, very very cool ur both skilled hope one day can play like that :D
These duble jam-shred performance with background music are simply great!!
Cara dois monstros arpegistas uehauheuaheah massa mano xD Demais o seu professor é animal mesmo e você ta seguindo os passos certinho! Demaiss o duelo ai, bem rock mesmo xD
its all about feel, if you want it more aggressive switch to the treble PU, if you want it more warm switch to the neck PU, they mostly use the neck pickup because you cant hear the picking as much through the amp, also during sweep picking because it sounds cleaner. plus when your on the neck pickup you cant here any major mess ups because it blends it so well. try it out!
I'm going to order some of his DVD's. I've been looking at his stuff at Shred Academy. It never hurts to learn something new from a teacher who clearly is a good teacher. A lot of guys can play but can't teach. Joe is great at both.
Feel free to delete this if it offends you Mike, but I would hope you might use it as intended. You have all the technique required etc etc, but when you do blazing runs... make sure they go somewhere every single time. Wether it's a high bend or a low booming thunderous crash. Make sure they go somewhere. Thats the only fault I can find with your playing style. Otherwise totally ripping indeed.
Oh and I agree that you seem to have numerous more ideas that your good friend Mr Stump. Im a big Malmsteen nut so I have always looked down at Joe but in fairness hes brilliant at what he does. Also seems like a nice bloke. :) cool stuff dude.
Mike, the bit where Joe stuffs up the simplest thing he tried to play... did he say "Whoops" afterwards or was that you or the camerman ?. lolol. Rippin shred for sure, even if it was a bit too much lol. :)
both awesome guitarists, but i thought the dude on the right (you, i think) had more melodic ideas...85% shred as opposed to stump's 95% shred (that's not to say that stump can't play melodically but you know)
Hey Mike... Great jam with the great shredlord himself, Mr Stump. :) You can certainly hold your own. Love your playing. Keep up the great work. Cheers...
how much did you pay him for that jam session o.O

The only people who say that are the ones who can't do it. Otherwise, they wouldn't say something stupid like that.

hairlessdog101 4 years ago
Got some clips to back that up?
With that kind of attitude you won't have any success at Berklee. Or in life for that matter.
ZOct21 4 years ago 3
shut up, he is 1000 better than you you can barely play trilogy.
Andoni666 3 years ago 2
I'm at the berklee 5 week program, Stump's my private instructor. I very much doubt you've got ANYTHING on this dude.

They are both doing far too much switching. They sound great, but they are SLAMMING that switch, aren't they?
