Auto is a green robot who first appeared in... Mega Man 7, I think. He made you items from screws. He helps you out in the air stages in Mega Man 8 (and might be working the shop again? I'm not sure), works the shop in Mega Man and Bass, and appears in the shop and certain cutscenes of Mega Man 9.

I don't exactly agree with you saying this is a really hard game. The only hard part for me is the final boss. Also, Tunnel Rhino is definitely the easiest maverick as he has a very simple pattern.

Well, at least they remedied the Zero situation in Mega Man X4, where you can play the entire game as Zero, boss battles and all. I actually think it's a bit more fun than playing through as Mega Man X.
