Isn't that composite-specific tooling? There is a company close to where I live (Superior Tool Service) which has a patent for a high-performance solid carbide drill specifically made for composite use.
I am using the same router from Makita but having trouble finding 6mm (1/4") shank bits, what are you using and is there an collet adapter for 3mm od 8mm shanks, Good work on router

I'd like to see a Bosch router. They are very precise, often having a runout of less than 0.0001.

Since you are very persistent, I will tell you exactly what the layup is.
carbon, carbon, core, carbon, core, carbon, carbon. for a total of about 5 mm.
