  • they contact with the magnets ... cool mini robot .. but if you try to not stuck then in the base with magnets and release them free that will be cool

  • wut.... thats amazing

  • Is it alive?

  • Its not really replicating now is it?

  • Von Neumann has arrived.

  • yeh cool but whats the point???

  • Yes, but will they be in the stores in time for Christmas ?

  • MAGNETS!!!

  • So THIS is how tetris pieces are made.

  • Hello, and welcome to the Enrichment Center....

  • That's was intelligently clever!

  • and what is this exactly made for?

  • Nice

  • If this was on a MUCH larger scale (like a midsize car) it would literally scare the shit outta me.

  • cool video, I'm just wondering how many the inventor spent before he perfectly finished this wonderful creation...

  • great another things to make humans obselete

  • If this thing becomes self-aware, WE'RE FUCKED.

  • Looks like this robot

    *Puts sunglasses on*

    is all boxed up.

    YYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

  • soon there will be self solving rubics cubes

  • @DayDreamAfterDark Cubes that solve themselves??!?!? The day that happens is the day the human race is no longer needed.

  • It plays 3-dimensional snake all by itself, defying all rules of the game.

  • i want a house made of those

  • .......... nice..... cuz we all need a self repairing box thingy O.o

  • This is interesting but not really what I had in mind when I read "self-replicating repairing robot"

  • Wow.. now make it a 100 times smaller! :D

  • @DPAMULTIMEDIA phew, thats nothing, how about one million times smaller.

  • to make them 100 times smaller, scale the cube's side by by 1/100^(1/3), which is only around 1/5!

  • ...but will it blend

  • wtf; i see neither repair nor replication here; you are exxagerrating everything; repairing means it had some physical damage for example kick it with baseball bat it turnt to pieces and then it can repair itself

  • ITS HAPPENING!!!!!!!!! O.o

  • this is not Self-Replicating , Self-Replicating means they make more of them self, not a humen comes along and adds more and it puts itself together

  • @imatelly that is not in fact true, it is self replicating, it just cannot survive on its own and produce more of its parts, it is by definition, given sufficient and correct parts, able to build another individual bot.

  • @jaked122 true.

Else humans couldn't be called self replicating, as they also consume only very specific parts -> food.

  • this is so awesome

    and soooo creapy!

  • The next big worm virus that feeds on giant magnetic sugar cubes.

  • Where do they get the resources from?

  • but can it blend?..

  • i want one!!

  • nice

  • Wall-E!

  • The Ancestor of the ....Matrix

  • hey! that could work as a puzzle game.

  • that robot had that down, like a model on a runway.

  • the cake is a l- ooh tetris!

  • so theoretically... these things can build entire buildings all by themselves??? thats amazing

  • @leralon No, no they cannot. All they do is replace missing modules in an overly complex looking way.

  • where is the factory that spits out glass on that thing? or the part of it that is going to assemble the toilet?

Its just a block that connects to other blocks.

  • HOLY SHIT! the quarians didnt make the GETH... it was the HUMANS!!! -sorry im a mass effect junkie

  • so...what? one day a guy just decided "you know what we need? Magnetic penis things."

  • I can move my cock like that.

  • This is how Transformers came to be

  • MY COUSIN GOES TO CORNELL UNIVERSITY!!! yay! hes in New York tho...love you Dylan!

  • Made by: Skynet.

  • this is soooooooo so soo sos oooooosooo SOOOOOOOOOOOOO KICK ASS

  • SNAKE 3D !!!! XD

  • Under the words self replicating i imagine a group of robots using raw materials to produce another one like themselves. Not this shuffling around...

  • i bet the pyramids were built the same way too..

  • how is this self-replicating?

  • The rotation is a great thing. They move SO slowly without that.

  • Replicators v0.01

  • This is like slow motion TRANSFORMERS

  • It's like a puzzle game!

  • Dear santa...

  • slow ass if its sped up by 4 times

  • nice looking but not really "Self-Replicating"...

    still very interesting design

  • まあすごい。。

  • a house the trasforms by software made of these... speak of modular housing!

  • Ahaa, so THIS is what robot cum would be like if it had intelligence? o_o

  • @Faust013 ...

  • wow like a worm

  • Its 2011, why isnt this in the stores?

  • @demon6228 , To be honest, That'd be cool if they were able to draw in solar power to move, and some blocks had outlets, and the house would build itself according to a building plan. Then the whole house would generate and store electricity in a central unit, and energy can be passed through all blocks.

  • Thats a very good idea actualy it can be used for many things

  • Let's call them 'Xenon' :D

  • Cool, can it detach blocks without a post?

  • this is how minecraft generates random levels, also how GLados rebuilds her labs.

  • ohhh so its you guys who invented tetris

i hated tetris, bet when your robot tetris shines my eye's (tune of rudolph the RNR)

Robot the robot tetris, had very tetriiis arrrrmmmms....YEAH!

  • why not make buildings out of this

  • While the robot (or rather, robot colony, arguably) is neat, the real question is why it's housed in flesh-look rubber.

  • Its a simple assembly arm, which can move itself? Doesnt replicate, though, you gave it all the sections it needed!

  • Tetris 3D?

  • Meh, its cool but its hardly replicating never mind repairing itself lol

  • That's interesting. I haven't seen it repair or rebuild itself in this video. I wonder how it will respond when one of those internal servos gives out...

  • looks like a newer variation of the M tran

  • hogwarts??!?!?!?!

  • Autoblocks! roll out!

  • I don't see it replicating or repairing itself here.

All I see is it assimilating and transfering blocks from one group to another.

Not exactly impressive when everything is exactly grided.

  • looks like moving cheese!!!

  • they should send one of this on mars

  • See the table and you will know its static, not Mobilized.......

  • Those things are kinda scary.

  • This will haunt me tonight

  • These will take over the world, very slowly.

  • @Diddleshot Don't worry, just give them an odd number of blocks and they destroy will each other for the extra block!

  • @Diddleshot Yeah as long as someone keeps posting new blocks on the right and left locations for they to multiply LOL

  • @Diddleshot id laugh if that happened

  • @Diddleshot we can burn it, shut it down, take away electricity, etc...

  • I like this video.

  • Good video.

  • This video is very fun.

  • Wow!

  • But will it blend?

  • That is the coolest thing ever!

  • Note the video of origional "self-replicating machine" that will reproduce all of its smallest parts and that this device is a cheap knock-off off at:

    leadman22 site (The Infinity Device).

  • Was an employee working the account. You seem more concerned about that

than that my technology was stolen? Why is that? Are you Hod Lipson,

Frietas or Merkle? Or possibly Zykov or Chan? Maybe the Wikipedia troll

    (s) who deleted all traces of my technology from Wikipedia?

  • Did it have to be flesh coloured?

  • It's funny though because it makes like 30 pointless moves before it gets another piece.

  • its ALIVE!!!

  • SO weird!

  • The "Engineers at Cornell University" did not desigjnh this... they stole the idea from Charles Michael collins's complete and more advanced actual self replicating machine (paten 5,764,518. See the vid at his channell (leadman22).

  • @leadman22

Why are you talking about yourself in the 3rd person?

  • test

  • do want

  • Wow

  • What kind of engineering is it

  • it sounds oddly borg.

  • cool

  • YouTube is crazy i came here from the Wii2HD "Projekt Café"

  • Tetris!

  • epic!

  • really it not the geth yet but add a light bulb and u got it

  • Trigonometry gone MAAAAAADDDD!!!!!

  • so its a baby Transformer?

  • Attack of the fuzzy squares!!!

  • I just shat my pants. :/

  • Basically the comments are comprised of "fuck this waste of time/money" and "fuck this the end of the world is coming!" Which are both responses to fear of the unknown. Very few people seeing great applications for this. Add in some other robotics and genetic algorithm A.I. and we have an awesome combo (which I admit may kill us, but fuck it, who wants to go out in a nursing home anyway, I'd defo prefer going out in the robotic revolution).

  • it a fucking badass rubix cube!

  • it kinda reminded me of one of those "rubix snakes" except it can solve itself >:D

  • pretty creepy

  • Any color besides "flesh" would have made this robot less quirky and strange... and a tad creepy.

  • I want em!!!

  • awesome

  • creepy.

  • Guess it plays Tetris at level 10 with no problem!

  • now make my house turn into a car

  • Can you say Transformers?

  • that was so amazing!

  • id like to see any youtube trolls make something like this

  • we are doomed, skynet is already starting D:<

  • WOOOOOOOOOT

  • without the the robot attatched to teh table it would be moar imprecive

  • transformers!

  • @cooolway if it were u would be it's twin

  • pretty gay

  • Freaking epic so can it multiply it's kinda hard keeping track when they always add new cubes lol

  • SIENCE!!!

  • Just as i predicted! Soon the earth would be taken over by this robots! AND THEN HUMAN-KIND WILL ALL PERISH!

  • Interesting, could lead to greater things!

  • I like! That is pretty cool. Great job!

  • Well, I guess this is it. Judgement Day by way of killer cyborgs ain't that far off.

  • HAHAHAHA JUST LIKE SEP 11 2001

  • the way those joints are constructed is already quite ingenious :0

  • Terminator times are coming.......

  • WAIT, they keep forming 2 towers, fuck next time they build the twin towers make them out of those.

  • Stunning

  • Thats hypnotic...I really wish I had studied robotics and not art.

  • So how exactly does it fix itself? Or make more? To me it just seemed like it's playing with magnets. I dunno, anyone mind helping me out on this?

  • so THIS is where our taxes go...

  • @lowproductions92 so the government can create new stuff like robots and spaceships and flying cars, and sex robots ect. ect.

  • Why does it look like its made of tofu?

  • Burn it, Burn it, self replicating and self repairin... Holy shit, didn't you fuckers watch terminator. It has begun.

  • Did anyone think: make this in the nano size,

& 'cause in the nano and connect eithe other, a massive robot'll hav the forme of liquide metal just like quicksilver.

Have a trillion trillion nano robot, Self-Replicating,

They little bastard can self-connect and can be in many forme (but the volume of object must be equivalent with the volume of massive nano robot)

    Programming : "assasinate Jonh Connor"

and a last, we'll get the prototype of T-1000 terminator :P

    Awesome!

    sorry my bad english :(

  • *.* omg this is so .... LOL

  • HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?

  • STOP MOTIOn

  • OMG creeeeepppppyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!! Q.Q

  • Hi check what we've done with a NXT and other devices. Have fun! /watch?v=AA1DMef4cwI

  • These things will destroy us all! Or at least distract us until the other robots take over.

  • it's like bloxorz

  • companion cube evolved!!

  • MY DICK CAN DO THAT!!!

  • Can't wait for the combat applications.

  • ()_() MOVING COOKIE DOE WOOT WOOT thumbs up :D plz

  • Its fecking creepy

  • I'd like to see it repair itself if someone smashed it with a sledge hammer.

  • I see robots that will wipe out the human race without even having a chance to kill em.

  • it aint really "Self-Replicating Repairing" it is just assembling/disasebling....

But i know, new inventions got lead to something greater than their current state.

  • @CaitSithDK grammar failure

  • Awesome companion cube, bro.

  • cool
