Yes, he's still in the band. Don't be thick. He records vocals, so he isn't there for alot of the recording, because the musicians have to spend alot more time in the studio. He doesn't really contribute anything to the albums, musically speaking.

but just because you can shred 16th notes at 280 bpm doesnt impress me...granted that its only my opinion but i think that there is alot more to music than being able to play fast...the making of a song should have a profound impact on you...in the sense that it is something you created and that it will reflect you...and i'd personally rather have a multi layered pesonality...now dont get me wrong i love death metal but i think that music is just being dumbed sown to much by flash and speed.

I never mentioned speed specifically but I understand what you are saying...in fact I don't like most early death metal works because the bands were trying to play ultra fast, simplistic beats over & over again & the music sounded boring after a while..plus the production of most early death metal albums are terrible so that didn't help!

although thats not entirely true...its more prevalent now that peopl just wanna go fast becuase if you listen to early death and morbid angel the tempos aren't completely insane (especially death its actually kinda slow by todays standards) but they still play fairly fast but with bands like dying fetus and beneath the masacre metal is losing creativityy that death and morbid angel era bands had for mere speed.
