  • United Broke Dave Carroll's guitar.

    R.I.P Dave Carroll's Taylor guitar.

    We will miss you.

  • I wore that uniform for several years and on the 10th anniversary I work for the competitor that was also used horrifically. "Together We are United" means so much to me still.

  • I want to say thank you for my coworkers who made life there great. As the day of the 10th year of 9/11 Incident comes up, I can say enough how much I will miss friends in remembering life with United Airlines. The people, the workers on the front line, make United make it what it is today. I am proud to have my wings from United Airlines. God Bless to my former coworkers and present friends of United Airlines. Peace be on to you.

  • Air Travel was much more fun and cool before 9/11 united Airlines was awesome now they suck classic aircraft too like the 727 747-200

  • At 00:53, I always cry!!!

  • way better than air canada!!!

  • It makes one want to work for United.

  • Things are still good...... I love seeing some of my former coworkers.....

  • I want to say God Bless Lorraine Bay.....she was a great friend, always got a hallmark card on my b'day, she remembered birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and always shopped at Hall Mark. Everyone who knew her called her "MOM", and she was such a super lady! She is sadly missed, and the Halll Mark Store has not been the same!!

  • @luxfly Racist!!! This was a commercial after 9/11 How dare you!?! Many lives were lost from this horrible event yet u say "so american and so boring" Has you country ever been attacked by terrorist who crashed planes into building NO!!! then if you dont have anything nice to say then dont say it at ALL!!!

  • @superdan2010 Shut up!

  • @DASW7 Excuse ME!?! Oh u must be another Terrorist. I posted that comment a month ago you're not even in this! If you have nothing nice to say dont say it at all. By the way did you even see what luxfly wrote!

  • WE ARE UNITED

  • "we are united", this ad is amazing..proves you can achieve to what you want in life....and never let go.

  • United rocked in the 90s and 80s but after 9/11 they really suck

  • @RickMakesGoodVideos It is strange. I was flying during the week of 9/11. But I had a great time with United Airlines..

  • @MarcusLeepapi Yes it is but trust me I flew united in the 80s happy awesome people and service then i flew in 2004 with united the flight attedent did not welcome me on the plane she was mean

  • @RickMakesGoodVideos Well, I am glad you had a great begining in the 80's with United. Take care

  • @MarcusLeepapi I miss that

  • @RickMakesGoodVideos Thanks.... Yes, I miss my 747s and my 777s. But I am glad I have survived through 9/11 and many years after that. There was another strange guy over the weekend who thought he could harm New York and leave on another nice airline. I am glad he was stopped and caught.

  • @MarcusLeepapi So do I united was great I miss the 737 to Newmark and the flight attendents but I really dont fly united anymore I fly Southwest

  • @RickMakesGoodVideos I hope Southwest is good for you... Take care... Fly safe..

  • Yes, the best.......

  • Yes, the company..... It is a good one......

  • Proud to be a flight attendant with United!!!! the best!!!!

  • @norcalman415 So do you

  • I do believe that the pilot at 0:15 is Dennis Fitch, who was a passenger on Flight 232 in 1989 and attempted to help the pilots land with no flight controls.

  • Yes i believe it is too, he did an exelent job that day back in 89

  • @TheGoldenArcher Yeah! That is him! I knew I recognized that face.

  • @TheGoldenArcher The dc-10 or md-11? that he had to control the throttle? sorry if im mistaken

  • @TheGoldenArcher Yeah!!! That's him!!!!

  • @TheGoldenArcher Confirmed, it is him. I won't go into details, but I can say with absolute certainty it is him :-)

  • @TheGoldenArcher It is indeed

  • im sorry, the truth hurts sometimes.. but thats life ;o)

  • I assume you lost a guitar through baggage. Broke apparantly.

I don't know if anyone's told you, but shit happens.

Cope with it, instead of venting on youtube. Understand that today over 500 guitars will be shipped with United around the world and NOT 1 will break.

So, you got unlucky. Now you chose who you are. Bitch about it or fix it.

  • @wojovox On Top of this Wonderful comment i would alos like to state with a clear fact. I have seen more actually -famous- Musical groups travel Via United to get where they need to go. Including but not limited to ZZ Top, Goldfinger, Saves the Day, Greenday, REO Speedwagon Flew into Kansas City on UA, met Aerosmith personally on a UA flight. You lost your guitar I'm so sad, shit happens, pack it right, in a hard-sided case like a proper musician.

  • Stupid like you

  • I'm sure glad I don't play a guitar!!

  • LHR - LAX on United next week.!

  • well then you won't be on the new interior... such a shame

  • I miss my former job there at United... Yes, I miss being a Purser (Chief Flight Attendant) there..... Yes, I miss flying....

Good luck to all of my former coworkers who are still at United.........

  • This is so sad, to all the ppl killed in 9/11

  • quite agree all its doin is trying to get United more money again its not in anyway paying respects to the victims.

  • no my dad works for united airlines and they are still doing a lot of things to respect the victims but they are trying to not go into Bankruptcy

  • hummm yeh i see their point. I love United i am gonna work for them when im older, at least try, FLY UNITED keep them goin :)

  • I'm flying united next week ;) CDG-ORD-PHX :)

  • WOOP WOOP!!!! :)

  • United in my mind and America view reflected a pionner aviation, hight quality services and attention for passengers, but the not see to past has caused it.

Return, United for your work line!

  • I just saw this ad for the first time today and it gave me chills. I grew up in San Francisco and United was my "hometown airline". I still remember the SFO checkin area as a kid and just being in awe of the whole operation. I'm now a pilot for another US airline, but I hold a special place in my heart for United and all the employees and I wish you all nothing but the best. I hope someday to work for/with you all. I hope someday we can return to that sense of class.

  • I am not a big UA fan because they are un relaible to me. But I still like to see them at the airport. I hope they stay around.

  • This commercial still gives me goose pimples. United is such an amazing airline, despite its problems, we are a company of truly dedicated people with a passion for our industry, a passion for our company, and a passion our guests!

  • I dont like to fly UA due to them being unreliable but I dont hate them. I hope to keep seeing them around.

  • OMG I LOVE UNITED!!!! i am English and often fly to LAX to see family and its £396 on British Airways, £422 on Virgin Atlantic and £580 on United but I really couldn't care less I love United airlines!

  • same here! LHR-LAX on United 935! (L)

  • That's the kind of people that make a name for an airline, I am a DL person, but I can see the same amount of dedication and love for the airline from everyone. The bad apples that treat it just like another job make a bad name for an airline, these people make you proud to fly whatever airline you might be in, AA, DL, UA, CO, NW.... Whatever... Just love your job just like these people!

  • The slogan at the end is meaningful

  • Thinking of all of you...9/11/08...from a BA flight attendant. It will be a date never forgotten.

  • ....I am so proud all my co-workes and friends bless you all on this 0911....for I will never forget the cost you have paid...I am thankful each day...for I remember you.

    My wings are your wings....

    blessings,

    x

Suziestew (Pan American and Untied Airlines)

  • Lets just hope United will survive this industry downturn and become a great world class airline again, after turning from best to worst in 5 years thanks to 9/11, Glenn Tilton, and the divided emplyees. United really needs it's empoyees and management UNITED, working to save the once great airline and return to its former self like in the glory days of the 80s and 90s. United is fighting for survival now, and I just hope it can become the world class airlines that United Airlines once was.

  • ,,,bless you for your words of hope for United...

    so much appreciated...

    blessing,

    x

  • Powerful!

  • wow they have Denis Fitch in this commercial?! (He helped out the pilots on United 232)

  • I was happy to that as well, actually it is my belief that he saved that flight from disaster.

  • such a powerful commercial, really makes you forget about all the negative aspects of flying of american carriers.

  • This was a very powerful ad when it aired in the weeks following 9/11 and its message still rings true today. I think that this was the best possible attitude the airline could have taken following such a tragedy. I began flying with them just before 9/11 and still do today. Now that they're out of bankruptcy I believe that they'll continue to be an industry leader.

  • Love United! Great commercial, very effective and strong. Hope they stay United through everything. I also love seeing their beaut. 747s at Sydney.

  • These were truly great commercials--a tribute to the people of United Airlines, to Errol Morris (the great documentary film maker responsible for directing this series of ads), and--and this is what really packs the wallop--to the best of what Americans in general can be. If anything good came of 9/11, it was that indescribable feeling of awareness and love for fellow citizens. These commercials reawaken that feeling instantly. They're little works of genius.

  • What is the name of this music?

  • Rhapsody In Blue. It's United's theme song.

  • Ok thanks a lot! :D

  • My father served the USA via his Military service, which began when he was drafted at the age of 18 and spent his 18th Birthday in Paris, France. He was a member of the USAF for 20+ years—the military has changed and so has flying. However, for me—no matter the cost I always fly UNITED. As UAL has been so accommodating to me as a passenger that has flown since 1974 to current. Thank you Friendly Skies.

  • G O U N I T E D ! ! !

  • I just love this comercial, it really touches me.... it really makes me think about all of us who love flying. My best wishes to all of you at United!!

  • WOW!! Good on Ya United..Im cabin crew with BA and I jus wish we were as patriotic as you guys..9/11 hurt everyone in the airline industry and I still become emotional thinking of that day..thinking of the poor crew and passengers of both UA and AA...But we move on. At this time, during our terminal 5 fiasco, there is finger pointing and blaming amongst all BA management and staff, I wish as a company instead of being divided,we could be...well..United.

  • I <3 it. :)

  • this commercial came out just after 9/11

  • OH MY GOD, WHAT A BEAUTIFUL VIDEO, IT ALMOST MADE ME CRY...seriously, i bet anyone who is somewhat related to the airline industry felt something great while watching this. Just loved it. Big hug to all of you at united.

  • I think its a tribute to the staff that they've managed to re-organise out of CH11 and back into the black. Good on you guys - keep in mind your loyal customers down here in Australia!

  • tears come to my eyes everytime i see this video, i love working for the airlines an no one will ever take that away from me, i am united!!!!

  • I have worked as a flight attendant for more than 35 years. I still get a rush every time the wheels go into the well on the 400. Off to Beijing Friday...

  • United. The best airline and my place of work for 2 years... i promise to come back again!!!

  • I worked two years at united and recently i change of work... now what i want the most is to come again UNITED AIRLINES THE BEST

  • HUUAAA!

  • Cook1993 I totaly agree with you im 13 and i soooo want to fly commercial aircraft like the Boeing 737-200 or the Airbus a300-B4 or even the DC-10,and yes that advertisement is really quite inspiring

  • NEVER!! THEY ARE UNITED AIRLINES

  • Well, they are bankrupt united airlines. Some good friends of mine who work there say it is going down just like Pan Am, and they were there and experienced it.

  • the 4th person that appears on the video is one of the survivors of flight 232 (1989).. i knew i saw him somewhere!

  • yeah! he was the one who helped the pilots handle the engines! wow! he's still a pilot!

  • Actually, he retired a few years ago. If I recall correctly, he retired off of the 777-200 in 2002, I think.

  • great advert. Makes ppl inspired to fly. I do like United and fly them occasionally. Great airline.

  • Put any airline name in that commercial, and you'd have a universal sentiment. People always ask why I choose to fly for a living. The answer is simple: There's nothing else I'd rather do.

Hat's off to UAL and all the pilots and flight attendants that keep the skies safe and comfortable.

  • its people like u folks who make traveling safe and possible. You are United, America's choice, my choice.

  • The best Airlines in the world ;)

    GOD BLESS UNITED AIRLINES

Hope you get a better management ;-P

  • God Bles United Airlines! I love United

  • "I've never wanted to do anything but fly planes" Me too!

  • me three

  • juju fourrr :D

  • soooooooooooooooo geeat

i wish i am a part of them

    i love united airlines

  • The captain at 0.14, is that the guy who's on board United Flight 232 that helped the crew in the cockpit? Kinda look like him.

  • that does not look like dennis fitch

  • That's the guy...Denny Fitch.

  • dennis fitch's voice is not like that

  • "There's no freedom like that"

  • Indeed God Bless United Airlines. In a few years I hope to be running UAL and bring it back to the proud airline it was.

  • god bless all the united team and the pilots on their way to their destinantions

  • mm, well.... ok...

  • This is by far my favorite United Airlines commercial. I remember this airing soon after the events on 9/11.

  • god bless united airlines!

  • Amen brother
