omg, i was on that boat last year. I remember it takes about 4 days to get to the dam. And one hour bus to Yibin. The gorges were beautiful and really peaceful. It's so funny see you guys jumping into the river. I wonder how did it end up? Did you guys get kicked out from the boat? Just kidding^^.

Excuse me? Have you done your homework? Yangtze is the spelling given by Xinhua, or China's main news agency. Maybe you should complain to them about the spelling. Granted, there are several different spellings, which include others like "Yangzi." However, Yangtze is the most common spelling. Anyway, read more. Good luck on your quest for accuracy.
