@1977wallace We are sorry to hear that! Did you know that we have more resident balloonists here in Albuquerque than any other city or state in the country? There are balloonists that fly nearly everyday – however, if you are a late sleeper, this may account for your missed sightings. Our suggestion would be to grab a cup of coffee and head outside around 7:00am in the next few days to witness some of our beautiful balloons. If you don't catch any that way, try the Balloon Fiesta in October!
@kixter141 Baskets are made to be very safe. Basket frames are made of welded stainless steel, floors are made of plywood, and there are uprights that hold the sides. The basket walls are made of cane which are softened a bit by soaking overnight in water to allow them to be woven to create the frame of the basket. Handles are created inside of the basket for riders to hold onto when the balloon is landing. Just be sure not to let go until the pilot tells you it’s okay.
My wife and I took a balloon ride in 2007 with that same grew. It was the best! The crew did a wounderful job. Did You set up nert to the Village Inn on Coors..We would love to do it again but with fewer people in the basket. Our 1st time out the it was to windy so we had to do it the next day.But well worth the 2 trips to that side of Albuquerque. Thanks tracker7
You can not steer a balloon, but the pilots are extremely skilled at gauging the wind patterns at different elevations to be able to change directions.
We went on vacation to the rocky mounatains we flew into denver co and then drove down to santa fe then drove down to albuquerque and it was the day of the big races so we woke up and ballons where everywhere I would love to go
i love this Video plus I was living there When they Took this Video. I used to wake up Early in am and Get in my car and Chase Some of the balloons that were near mE on the westside of town. I loved Seeing them Float over My apartments. And I thank you For this Video. Signed "ArtistiChicana." I am on youtube

I have lived in New Mexico my whole life, and the balloons are still just as amazing as they were 30 years ago. I have never been up. Maybe someday. thanks for the video!

Awesome video. This has to be the best balloon video on youtube. Rainbow Ryders has some really nice hot air balloons. Ballooning rules.

Also, is it very loud?
ccoasterdesigner 2 years ago
Riding in a balloon is extremely peaceful and gentle. The only somewhat loud noise is when the burner fires every few minutes.

How do you control a hot air balloon? Or do you?

Dear All,
I have some question on psychology:
Why do we love flying? What do we enjoy being in the sky?
Thank You in Advance for your creative ideas and brainstorms :)

From the ABQ Balloon Expert Tom Rutherford - co-founder of the Balloon Fiesta:
It's like seeing a magic show:
to feel the earth falling away from you,
to see things that are usually quite large, passing beneath in a tiny storybook setting, and upon landing, laughing and laughing, because the spell is
broken and you are back to reality.
That's the joy i feel

Another attraction I like it and i want to be inside those hot air ballons to lift up to the sky and feel the wind on my face.
