i live in a family of hunters, & outdoorsmen, there are reasons for hunting in places such as Utah, Montana, and Wyoming. Overpopulation. certain species need to be hunted or else they will overpopulate an area,& ultimately die of starvation or stress. men like him don't deserve to be called hunters. he is killing that deer for sheer sport. the men & women in my family don't kill just for the hell of it. but for a purpose-- the meat, AND they do it legally.& don't celebrate killing the animal.
When Jesus returns, those who love Him (per God) will live with Him and amongst the animals in peace. Just as it was in the beginning. I do not believe that God had intended for any of his creations to kill one another. But, when Adam and Eve sinned, they passed it on for generations to come...they cursed us. Peace WILL be restored for those who have chosen to love God and his blessed son. Personally, I can't wait for the day...so much hatred and violence in this world. I identify with Powder.

Nature is more living and mysterious than what science and religion teaches us. No one really knows what the real answers are in life, just have to guess and hope we are right in someway possible. This movie has taught more than what school and church has in the past. We are what life is about, and life is about us. In other words, we are the world in which we create.

The "meat in freezer" excuses don't even fly with us today because today we don't have to kill in order to survive, we can live in vegetarian diet and be very healthy. The only time killing excuse would work is for pure survival.
Pretty much everyone contributes to some creatures death. Wether your a hunter, you eat meat, or you buy your veggies from a store. Most people dont know if you buy any food products from a store you have contributed to some creatures death. The farmer kills any creature that threatens to destroy their crop before its harvested. The facilities that process these products poison rodents that threaten the product before its shipped out. Your just as responsible for the killing as the one killing.

Typical flare for articulation that one would expect from someone with your point of view. The scene is a comment on the cruelty of killing for sport. If one believes in God, one should have more respect for his creations.

Look, I really do have respect for Gods creations. And this scene is a powerful idea. I could never kill an animal just for the sport! I just wish this strong statement had been made in a better film. Powder is still an unententionaly cheasy,and creapy movie. Looking at it again too many scenes seem to derive from the directors pedophile past.
