Wow. I remember when you first posted this and seeing it again brings chills for me. I can only imagine what it does for you, Jill. How incredible to be honored with being there at that time and place.

I'm happy so say that I was there that night and experienced the thrill of my life, but unfortunately had no way to take a single photo and have to rely on the beautiful images imbedded in my brain...I'm glad you captured those moments for all to see...thank you, Jill
I'm glad you enjoyed the images. I can't take credit for them, however. I have many friends who shared them with me, so I could create this slide show.
John performed at The Sheila Witkin Memorial with his friends from South Florida, Joey Malone, Bill Hanti and Bruce Witkin in "The Kids". It was a generous show of his love and support for Sheila Witkin (Bruce's mother) who had passes away recently. She was a driving force and "band mom" to John and other south Florida musicians in the 70's and 80's.
Yes, I was there and it was wonderful! The bands all did a fabulous job. I didn't know Sheila, but I learned at the concert that she was a special person to many people. My friends and I were commenting on how wonderful Johnny's priorities are in that he didn't fly back from London for an awards show in Hollywood but he did come back for his friends. He's an amazing person who we can all learn from.
Great work Jill. I was there as a former member of Critical Mass. I am indeed old enough to remember those days. John wouldn't be a "Kid" if he weren't a stand up guy. Bruce, Bill (Beano) and Joey are among the best there is both as musicians and especially as human beings. those of lesser character would not last long in their "family".
Thank, you! I really enjoyed Critical Mass that evening as well. The lead singer was hysterical. And, the way you describe The Kids is just the impression I had of them. I hope they'll perform some more. It really was an enjoyable evening.
Great work Jill! Couldn't have said it better. He touches us in so many ways. How could we not love this man? Thanks for all your hard work. See you on list! ~thea
Am SO sorry I couldn't be there-will never get that close, but a BIG thank-you for sharing. Not to sound sacrilegious but I'm getting pretty close to worshiping this man.
Oh Jill.... it was perfect! Every word you wrote is true. I'm so happy that you have chosen to share your life-changing experience with us all! he is truly my joy, and I'm coming undone! Thank you! Barb
