Personally, I have played both, but I think WoW would get their asses handed to them if the worlds were to clash.... I mean, Lich king is fine and all, I also love the story behind WAR and WoW, but well, Chaos is Batshit Insane and the Orcs are just out for clobbering. Seriously, Grom Hellscream would get smashed and spit out by an Orc Warlord from WAR. just put the two orcs in stature next to each other. Not to mention the High VS Night Elves... o.o
Well, I'd say that World of Warcraft is much better. I think their graphics are much better and that there are so many more realms, players, and a wider choice of customization of your character. I'm pretty sure that WoW has better gear than Warhammer and raids are more enjoyably on WoW. WoW's end game content is hard to beat. That's my opinion.

WoW for PVE and War for PVP/RVR and for those who dont know Warhammer and there ideas came before Warcraft as a board game and most of the races in Warcraft you will be able to find in Warhammers board game armies... but overall both are great games and gave me different expieriences.

@Zinoram ROFLMAO PLEASE PLAY A GAME BEFORE YOU CRY ABOUT IT! 1a) Warhammer "Shit" PvP Is the most balance of any game I have ever played. 1b) They barely ever nerf because it balanced and when they do its not that bad... 2) There accually is PvE, Dungeons, accually two near the starting area, and alot at end game where you can aquire some of the best gear in the game (tovl) and 3) It depends. You dont have to but most players do because they came to the game FOR PVP.
I like both War and Wow, but when i tried War trial i found it was....missing something. I liked the races and classes but i felt it lacked the exploration that i was hoping for, I for one wanted to explore the War world but i found i was limited to about 4-5 zones a race. I also found the RvR, which everyone loves, was completely unbalanced. But there where good things the lore was good and you had clear ideas of all the races.
Warhammer even by the name it shows that if you dislike it, the emperor will shove it up your ass !

WoW = 9 classes, WAR = 20 classes
WoW = 4 Battlegrounds, War = 20-22 scenarios (battlegrounds)
WAR has city sieging (actually taking over the other factions cities) WoW does not
WAR has a working achievement system and the ToK, WoW is working on putting it in in the expansion, might not even work, we'll see
P.S. I do not LOVE WAR, or HATE WoW, i am currently playing WAR, but played WOW for 4 years, U do not have it out for WoW.

2.) So what if War didnt have mmorpg before WoW they took the models almost the same.
Now you can say orcs for example were also in Lord of the rings books and so on.
But Warhammer was the only thing where orcs had viking helmes, were green, had red colored armor etc...
In LOTR books orcs were infact changed elfs.

If you want friendly PVE then go for WOW, if you want serious hardcore PVP then go for WAR.
So they both good at stuffs, but to be honest after many months with WAR, PVE very fun too, i love public quest events.
The only gay part is WAR instance has level cap, so it "now or never" kind of thing. Even worse, there only 1 reward vs. 6 players, good luck on that.

WoW for PVE and War for PVP/RVR and for those who dont know Warhammer and there ideas came before Warcraft as a board game and most of the races in Warcraft you will be able to find in Warhammers board game armies... but overall both are great games and gave me different expieriences.

@fafafak6 I know that WoW was based from the Warcraft series. But many people agree that the WoW-lore is strongly borrowed. And that D&D and Warhammer has been the first precursors for almost ALL fantasy universes. ( Dont forget Tolkien though). And YES, WAR might seem a little ''Cliche'' but they started alot of it, and warhammer is just so much deeper than what u see in the game. But in the end it all comes down to Gameplay, and there I think WAR is superior, That's just my opinion.

The only reason why WoW is so good is because it is a game made by Blizzard and hype.

Blood bowl is sports game
Dark omen is RTT
Shadow of the horned rat is RTT
Chaos gate is TBS (turn based strategy) so is final liberation and numerous others.

I started of with wow, for like 4 years, played all 3 games, and i think wow is a awsome game. But it dosent make you fell like... you are a hero, i mean you need 25 man to do a hard raid, that sucks, cause if you are a hero, you can beat them. But in warhammer, they realy make you fell like you are some one, you go to war, get beter gear, and fight mobs with ranks (campion) (Hero) (Lord) i mean, if you then kill a lvl 40 hero when u lvl 40, you realy fell like.... you are a hero. thats cool

While history does add to a game's popularity and social aspect, there is absolutely no way you can base whether a game is good or not just on that. Superman started off as a comic, and went through a lot of movies/TV shows/games/etc. before the example I gave. It's a concept significantly older than Warhammer, and it turned out disastrous. You dont have to but most players do because they came to the game FOR PVP.

I like both War and Wow, but when i tried War trial i found it was....missing something. I liked the races and classes but i felt it lacked the exploration that i was hoping for, I for one wanted to explore the War world but i found i was limited to about 4-5 zones a race. I also found the RvR, which everyone loves, was completely unbalanced. But there where good things the lore was good and you had clear ideas of all the races.
