Yeah - you're right about the tab. I was born in the mid 1950's, so I know about dropping the needle and wearing out vinyl record grooves. My old guitar teacher used to tell me about driving 50 miles to a dance to hear a guitar player, then comming back home to try to play the licks. Maybe kids in the future will just have it downloaded directly into their brains - no practicing or listening at all!! Thanks!

Thanks for the comment! I am a bit older, so I grew up HAVING to learn stuff before online tab was available, and it was probably the best thing ever for ear development. So, in short, I did it the old fashioned way...by ear. I do try to "shortcut" songs sometimes and look up the tab but (and no offense to any tab writers out there) but they are at least partly wrong about 98% of the time and I usually revert to just sitting down and figuring out myself.
