I don't understand your title forgotten anne boleyn is one of the least forgotten wives of henry 8th she is most talk about one in books, movies and shows. Good example is the tudors from all henry wives she the one that got most on screen scenes then all them. She is the only wife I know that there is a movie just about her rise and fall Anne of the Thousand Days. If u know any other movies just about any of henry other wives like katherine or jane i would like 2 know.
Anne definitely did not deserve her fate. Katherine on the other hand was extremely stupid honestly it was the Tudor times did she really think she could get away with adultery?
is it just me or do most of the pictures look like Katheryn is older than Anne? It looks as though the pictures of Anne should be Katheryn and v.v. Of course, it's not but Katheryn really does look older than Anne. apart from the one at 0:55 but the others...wow. And you know the pictures at 1:00 which ones who and is that at they're death?
The Boleyn family had no luck. George and Anne, both executed. Thomas Boleyn died some years later. Nobody standing at his grave exept from the ghosts of his children. Then Katherine Howard executed and forgotten.
They were both the victims of greedy for power, money and high positions. The only thing that counted was the reputation and the money.
Katherine was not part of the Boleyn family, it was Anne who was part of the Howard family. So it should really be the Howards had no luck (if what you say about Thomas Boleyn is true then IMO he deserved what he got considering he apparently showed no love and provided no help to his children when they were sentenced to death)
Anne and Katherine both did not deserve the fates that met them, particularly Anne who truly loved Henry, and was never unfaithful to him.
@chigsee You can see it that way too. I agree that Anne did not deserve her punishment. Katherine was just to young to know what she was doing and did not know how high the risk was.
Alison Weir's book, based on the fall of Anne Boleyn, is shortly going to be followed by a book about the fall of Catherine Howard. Where Anne's fall was political, trumped up and downright scandalous, Catherine's was heartbreaking and extremely final - at least Anne could stick up for herself in court.
Yes, I always feel so sorry for Catherine Howard...to go to the block at the age of 20 or so, for a crime which today is completely understandable.
It just makes me admire and wonder a little at Katherine Parr...what did she think to herself as she mused on the fates of her 5 predecessors? Surely as strong a character as Anne Boleyn herself !
Goodness-when did I ever say I did not like Anne? I care for all of Henry's Queens even if I may not approve of some things they may have done individually. For one thing I have a real problem with marital infidelity-but that's just me. I'm old-fashioned that way.
Morally and theologically, of course not, politically, he was the King, and could do what he wanted. I noticed you use "Bathory" in your You Tube name. I assume this is after the Countess Elizabeth Bathory of Hungary, who got away with quite a bit of bloodletting (literally) before she finally was walled up in a cell. Had she been a reigning queen in her own right, she would have gotten away completely. This is not about gender, it is about power.
It's so sad that he could behead a woman he loved for 10 years with heart and soul, and discard her just like that, and then execute a pretty 16-year old child who should not have been queen in the first place. A confused man, to say the least.
henry was never confused durin the time he was married 2 anne he had a accident while joustin and damaged his front temperal tobe whivh is the part of the brain that has ur personality in it was after that he became known as a tirant as he would go frm bein really nice 2 bein nasty in a heart beat
i think the real forgotten queen here is katherine howard who was forced by her family to marry a man she did not like and worse they never prepared her for what she would face unlike anne boleyn who spearheaded the reformation process, was mother to one of the most suceessful monarchs and a woman for that matter.Katherine is hardly remembered in fact i did not know much about her until recently after rigorous research on her unlike anne. But they both paid for their families ambitious politics.
u are right analia, they did not deserve to die, it was awful how Henry thought so little, then agian kings often thought themselves as Gods so in their minds they were doing God's work, but Henry was just awful. Anne loved him so much and went to such lengths to the impossible to be with him and he returned her love with his spite, really horrible
I agree with LNor19. I think that is one of the most accurate portraits. Her daughter had a ring with the portrait of her mother and it looks really made after this image or the most known portrait of Anne.
I like to think that many who knew her and lived to old age could verify at least the likeness of posthumous portraits of Anne. I think most artists have it right. So many are similar to the sitter in appearance. And Elizabeth's ring especially, and also coins of Queen Anne that survived show a strong resemblance to the most known portraits. :)
Nie zgadzam się że zapomniane !!! Wręcz przeciwnie:) W dalszym ciągu budzą ciekawość nie tylko historyków , badaczy ale i zwykłych ludzi.

Both Anne and Kathryn were forgotten by Henry VIII. After their executions Henry made sure neither would be spoken of again in his presence.

It's called 'Rush', I forget who it's sang by, but it's off the Dreamfall Longest Journey soundtrack.

Anne Boleyn is my favourite Tudor queen, a great spirit misunderstood by many - now and then.
What is that beautiful song called?

As for Howard I think 0:57 is really her.

Well, for Anne, I'm guessing all of them could be most like her, since no painting from her time as even been considered her, but I'd go with 0:46.
For Kathryn, it's gonna be the miniature at 0:55.
