Saw Baryshnikov dancing live only couple of years ago when he was 60+, when he was younger - only recorded of course. I obviously should not argue with you because everyone is entitled 2 his own opinion. Also I obviously compare them at a certain age as Misha is older. I prob prefer Carlos bcse he is sexier. Well without refering to this specific role, I've seen others dance more cleanly than this, meaning that the movement is more seamless and without awkwardness of timing and pauses. Obviously he is terrific but I don't believe he deserves some of the hyperbole posted above.

Well merluzasfritas, I'm not in the beginning, I'm rather at the end, and as I've said previously, he's just not my type of dancer. I've never said anything about his technique- it's obviously at a high level. The idea of him dancing Albrecht makes me cringe, and besides, we have so many other suitable dancers for the role- Corella, Ganio, Bolle, etc. This is reality, it's personal taste, and it's subjective. I don't like his dancing.

Not possible to compare him to Baryshnikov, that's absurd. Misha owned alot of roles, and I saw most of them live. He ate the stage, his presence was hypnotic, it was subtle perfection, not flash and gymnastics like this guy. He's also not attractive in my opinion- he looks more like a street dancer, than a classical one.

and OHH! if you would see Baryshnikov's performance in Le Corsaire, you would see the same jump that Acosta did... only, not once, but several times in the variation! so before you go on and say that what he is doing is gymnastics, know that the same guy you are praising did the same jump... and both do it fantastic!
