nice post, sunshinetunes67!! i had never heard of the castell's and don't remember hearing this song, but thanks to angel - angelofbebop - i have now!!
@angelofbebop all of a sudden the ones that are into doowoop and others as well have finally discovered this song i've had it on here for one year. and i couldn't understand the lack of response for this much underrated and yet superb tune. it's deserves more recognition than its' gotten and now finally the word is getting around. it took awhile.
The original song was waxed by Hal Miller and the Rays. The Four Seasons also released track of this song on their "Rag Doll" album. The song was written by Bob Gaudio, of the Four Seasons. Thanks, Angel and Sunshine tunes
This has Four seasons all over it. If they recorded this i think it would had a lot more punch and dynamics, not to take anything away from the Castells version.
I don't remember this group, but they sound an awful lot like The Four Seasons with a touch of Roy Orbison. Very nice.

Actually The Rays that backed Hal Miller were The Four Seasons.

"Lets Hang On" was released in 1965.The "Rag Doll "album, along with the blockbuster single release occurred in 1964.

Yes, you're right angelofbebop! Does the music have to bop people on the nose for them to realize top-notch music????!!!!!

WHAT EVER BECAME OF CHUCK GIRARD AND THE REST OF THE GROUP.

@JIMMYAD46 I think Chuck Girard became a Christian artist and released a ton of albums.

But it appears
An angel's tears
Can mend all broken hearts
And given time,
Along with rhyme,
Can break into the charts.

Sorry, but I must correct your commentary. The Four Seasons DID record this. It's on their Rag Doll album from the previous year.
