  • I saw the Frost at an Allen Park tennis courts. I forget the year, but I remember they had to shut the lights off to get them to stop playing. My ears rang for about a week after. They were great.

  • i saw the frost in the late 60s. twice. they sucked both times. they tried to cover up their lack of talent with volumn. didn't work. dick wagner sucked.

  • For the tune! I'd give that tape a #2 !

    D. Wagner was even great on "Billion Dollar Babies"! !!! Seen them on a double bill at local HS with SRC...

  • Anyone know what Pete Woodman is doing now?

  • Still drumming away in the Detroit area. Never was in the Frost though.

  • @stumblemouth Pete has a band called The Hips in the metro Detroit area.

  • IS THIS THE SAME BAND that released a tune..... Baby Once You Got It?

  • Yes, this would be The Frost. Same Band.

  • I was traveling through Canada up from Detroit where my cousin lived..I heard "Baby Once You Got It" all over the radio stations back then..I remember at the time I couldn't hear it enough..I got back to Indiana..I haven't heard it since...late 1960's

  • When I grew up in Saginaw Michigan, Dick Wagner and the frost lived right across the street from me. I bought the 45 Mystery Man and took it over and they signed it! Wish I still had that :(

Those were the good ole days!!! They will always have a special place it my heart...

  • I remember the time when The Frost played Mystery Man as their finally song at Aquanis High School in the late 60's and people rushed the stage including me and Dick looked really scared for his own safety. Dick inspired the dream to be a rock musician in those great moments of music ecstacy. Thanks to all for the ongoing memories

  • I'll never forget when i saved up enough money to buy the first FROST album from GRINNELLS in Detroit

  • Dick Wagner-I hope you understand, you SHOULD be knighted, and in the hearts of thousands you are highly admired.Stay positive, enjoy life and please get well -rest assured your one of greatest musicians in world history.

  • Thank you to all you crazy rockers who made these comments on my guitar work. I love you all

    Dick Wagner

  • ditto what tutone said from a guy who grew up in the midwest listening to your standout guitar work .Your sound is not forgotten. Wishing the best for you DW!

  • great song

  • Follow-up ... There was a rift between Riggs and Donny, and they split. Right around the same time, Riggs' folks bought The Hideaway, north of Alpena on US-23. Riggs and Wayne Kendziorski(sp?) and a couple of others became the "house" band there and called themselves "Windjammer". Wayne played sax & guitar.

  • dd2112 - The bar was Club 32, then renamed Bojangles - about 1973-4

  • Alpena Mich

    Cottages on Long Lake

    Twin Acres bar

    Jimmy's Part store

    What a town!

  • Dick Wagner great guitar player and song writer.

Heard that he wrote a song for Barbara Streisand. Also heard he was blackballed for a while.

  • wish they had more videos. I believe Dick Wagner sat in with Don Hartman in Alpena in the early 80's.

  • I saw alice Cooper when he he released "...Goes To Hell" Dick Wagner was his guitarist.

Frost Music was one of the albums i inherited from older siblings. I remember this tune.

  • THIS BAND IS FROM MY HOMETOWN ALPENA,MICHIGAN!! And we had Bob Rigg (drummer) Play with the Jr. High Band here. It awesome they from Alpena.

  • had to reply, my brother Paul played bass with Riggs Hartman in the early 80's. Trying to remember the name of the bar. What a great town.

  • Is your brother Jack.. Cause Jack (Something Polish ending in ski ?) played Bass.. I'm from Saginaw and was in the Cherry Slush. I knew all the Bass Players back then.. Wagner was doing a bunch of stuff for us back then..

  • Smolinski

  • That's the one... Thks...

  • Bojangles, later to become club 32,before the the drinking and driving crackdown the place was packed for a decade, cars on each side of the road for a half mile each way. Other bars were the friendly, twin acres, and the hideaway

  • Does anyone knows where can I find this song or the album for Download?

  • Frost Music is the name of the CD. You can get it online.

  • It's on Ebay all the time

  • This is a little more like it. Dick Wagner: tour!

  • I bought the "Frost Music" album in '69 after hearing "Mystery Man" on the radio. Still one of my favorite albums and I wish they had more success. I'd love to see them play live.

  • grew up in detroit in the 60's..saw frost several times..mc5, seger, nugent, ryder..it was the gest place to be!

  • sorry..best place to be!

  • My heart cant take this -- this is so awesome- - thanks tons and tons!

  • The Frost rocked saw them the very first time in a little known place in 1970 in Hastings, Michigan called THE COBRA smashing GOOD !!

  • The Frost were the first real band I saw live

in 1969. Dick Wagner was one of my early influences. Wasn't the drummer Bobby Riggs?

    Was that him?

  • Yes that is Bobby Riggs playing drums!

  • @randallcaster i saw them in 69 too.they were fresh energetic, and tight.i might add that at that time wagner was flat lightening fast, and spot on accurate.he was then the best player i'd ever seen seen easily.his vocals were real strong tenor and falsetto, near perfect pitch.

  • @randallcaster I wish someone had some quality video of the Frost back in the day. Its gotta be out there somewhere. i still have the 8 track copy of Frost Music. One of the almost forgotton bands of the sixties.

  • were these guys from Detroit or did they just play here every weekend?

  • Donny and Riggs are from Alpena, not sure about Garris, I think Dick was from Saginaw. They played alot, they clocked over 100,000 miles on the van one year and never left Michigan! true story direct from Hartman!

  • I love The Frost and almost everything Dick Wagner has done over the years. I was at both of these shows at Harpo's back in '83. I would love to see the whole concert again.

  • Love the Frost-Love Dick Wagner-Love the Bossmen-Wagner Forever!!! My favoirtie song by the Frost!!!

  • I am assuming this is Leo? I am correct? Please email me at designer (at) wagnermusic (dot) com

It will not let me post an email address here.

Dick's new business partner has been trying to get ahold of you!

  • Dick's a great guitarist, no doubt about that. He's also a great composer and a fine producer. I had the honor of working on his "Remember The Child Concert" in 1994-writing the orchestrations for 20 of his songs. As a classical musician, I can honestly say he deserves the name WAGNER.

  • Damn, the guitar right at the end is the Wagner I know and love. Brilliant, scalding, and always unpredictable.

  • Dick Wagner is a Personal Friend.. He had a Heart attack 2 weeks ago and had a triple bi-pass. I'm told by Donny Hartman that they almost lost him... this clip brings back memories.. (check out our stuff- Dick wrote and produced for us)

  • I hope that Dick now feels a bit better:I'll pray for him

  • Amazing. One of my favoritest bands from '68 to '72. What a delight to see and hear this clip.
