  • She was waiting to use that frying pan throughout the whole scene

  • eastenders went down hill when stacey left this christmas episode with yusef was so dissapointing

  • If only he hadn't tried to grab her shoulders at 3:15 ...

  • this was the first ever eppisode of eastenders that i watched im now 21 and i think that after this eppsode the whole think went down hill, this was a clasic moment :D

  • Whoops! Inappropriate behavior or comical behavior? In reality, it is inappropriate behavior. In entertainment, comical behavior. This reminds of a Sylvester & Tweety Cartoon, "Tom-Tom Cat," in which Granny hits Sylvester in the head with the frying pan for snatching Tweety Pie from her.

  • she sure uesd some force. most wives wood have eather just slaped him across the face or not eaven raised the hand just been so upset and angery. good thing people know better then hit hit some one aross the head with a frying pan in real life other wise crime of passon wood go up through the roof mind you atleast she didnt kill him. they were a great couple. they will sure be missed. pity they were killed off i wood love to have seen them grow old to getter.

  • Wendy Richards was kind enough back in 2000 to send me (in America) an autographed photo what a great woman she was.

  • It was absolutely fantastic :)

  • worst acting ever

  • @cadrino20978 Too fucking right! These overpaid bastards get acting awards for this! Shouting and ranting and smashing the dishes and everyone thinks it's marvellous! Tsk....

  • @cadrino20978 Y u watching this then, smh hater cn go :l

  • @cadrino20978 because i thought it might be good duh i'm not psychic your just a fan boy who needs to go outside and get a grip of himself.

  • Bad ass granneh!

  • Have wanted to see this again since 1993! fabulous, I like how after Arthur died the actrss Wendy Richard thought the character shouldn't remarry, so they married her off, and both died, love you Wendy x Wendy left the show before she died, a wonderful EE lady

  • DONG! stay away from me arthur.

  • Ouch......

  • How did I end up watching this??

  • HAHAHAAHAHAHAHA!!! "Stay away from me Arthur" - PING!

  • lol critical hit

  • i loved this very good

  • How come the living room got bigger when Ian moved in??

  • @richardsweden they knocked the wall out to the front room

  • How I would love this soap opera more if it was aired over here. Better than the others that we watch.

  • From 9/9/93.

  • hahahaha!

    "Stop it, Pauline!"

  • Arthur Fowler was scum.

  • RAWR WENDY SMASHHHHHHHHHHHH!

  • LOL

  • LOL CLASSIC!!

  • Except your body - God she must have been desperate. Love it!!

  • well that was a bit uncall for 3:53

  • this is ten times better then the crap on here in America

  • I've been watching this off and on since 1988. It was on PBS in New York. I watch it now through a friend, and it is still great. Right now, they have some of the best storylines going since the 80s.

  • one of my fav enders' moments - the frying pan!

  • old cow !!!!

  • Horny old man

  • Arthur got bonked in more ways than one.

  • r.i.p

  • I'll bet arthur got a lump on his head after that

  • LMAO, Pauline going dark on Arthur. Classic Eastenders right there

  • LMAO!

    Arthur got pwnd.

  • Pauline came hard in that scene.

Cuss him off, sending Arthur a box, then licking him down with a frying pan.

  • I heard that she really hit him by accident, and he couldn't speak English for a month. In the meantime, he only spoke Welsh.

  • I miss Pauline :)

    RIP Wendy

  • Wendy Richard was a class act. We miss ya, Wendy, and we also miss ya, Pauline.

  • I'm sure I remember her throwing a very large TV during this argument. Didn't Christine Hewitt buy it for Arthur and Pauline realizes where ''he got the money'' from to buy it?

  • THat Frying pan smack was real - not special effects ie rubber pan!

  • @Jayke1981 It was fake wasn't it? They should it on slow motion on EE Greatest Cliffhangers and it was clearly sound effect.

  • It was real. but its possible that a sound effect may have been used to embelish the smack!

  • Bill Treacher/Wendy Richard were great in Eastenders, in my view great acting

  • When I was growing up, our local PBS station aired an episode of Eastenders every weeknight. I would watch in rapt attention, on my tiny, black-and-white portable television. Michelle's pregnancy, Arthur's incarceration, and Angie Watts' alcoholism, were practically as real to me as my own family's little melodramas, and infinitely more interesting. Thank God we Americans, at least in my region, had a chance to see this show.

  • classic enders!!!!!!!!!!!

  • shit. that's why u never trust a lady in the kitchen.....

  • Bad acting wenndy could never act god bless her but this seen is so funny and she did get better years later ian is the worse acter in Eastenders thats why he is still there because is he left he would never act again.

  • @martymart140

To be honest I always thought she wasn't acting but just playing herself.

  • Are you saying Wendy's acting is as bad as your spelling and punctuation?

  • Ah, bloody old bad acting! DAWNT KEEP SAYING YAW SORRY!

Shit shit shit shit crap crap crap crap crap crap very poor and then she hit him with a frying pan, that was quite good...

  • oooohh! that man got owned by A pauline fowler

  • Badly acted rubbish

  • Eastenders is a lot of depressing rubbish

  • what a load of old shit. i love it.

  • he got poned

  • CHATEAU NERF DE PAPP!!!

  • Fkin PWNED!

  • God I hate eastenders makes me ashamed to be English =( I hope people know most of us aren't like that

  • dont watch it then u muppet

  • omg if you don't like it don't watch it

  • Hell, I'm American and I wish this show was aired over here! Even the EastEnders from the 80's is something I'd want to see!

Compared to the UTTER CRAP "RUBBISH" we Americans have on TV, the shows in England are AMAZING!

Shows like Dream Team, Footballers Wive$, Waterloo Road, and Teachers, are some of my most favorite shows. EastEnders is a show I'd DEFINITELY watch. Consider yourself lucky to have such great television. The US is so stuck up on content on TV, your shows go there!

  • north carolina has a big fanbase they raise 50,000 usd a year to keep it on tv

  • @Robin360 Lol you are right wit that, I'm glad I'm British XDD

  • @MapleAndAnimeCrazy LMAO! I don't know whether to say thank you or smack you in the head with a frying pan because I'm so freaking jealous! LOL!

  • @Robin360 In some parts of the country, (notably, where I lived in Syracuse, New York) they had EastEnders. I got to watch it, and I fell in love with it. :D

    AlbieGray

  • @Robin360 My local PBS affiliate airs EastEnders three days a week.

  • @Robin360 We do tend to think its crap Easteneders but I dont think its that bad, its a bit unbelievable at times.

Considered crap TV by some, Coronation St's a bit more realistic somewhat, though I do think it has much more to do with an entertainment factor to be fair to it though.

Yea waterloo road is a favourite of mine, its a shame you dont have good quality TV though, the BBC and ITV I think tend to pride themselves on good TV some crap though but its all a good mixture.

  • @Robin360 yer teachers is epic...it was loosely based on the school i went to. some of the characters are very similar to some of the teachers i had...was like being back at school lol. though season 3 onwards got a tad surreal lmao

  • @Robin360

Robin, I'm sure you've already realised this but if you google BBCiplayer you can watch all the latest espisodes of eastenders, they keep them online for a week after we've had them on TV and there is also an omnibus episode on there each week where all the weeks worth are aired at once. There are lots of BBC shows on there, but if you type in the search on there for eastenders it's there. :-)

  • @Robin360

But just so you know, Wendy Richard who is playing Pauline Fowler on here was not only killed off in the show in about 2006, unfortunately the acress, Wendy Richard has also since passed away.

  • @Robin360

I'm British and all the TV you described there is utter shite, including Eastenders.

  • @ihavekankles Whaaat!? See, now you understand... what you consider utter shite, is actually good to me!

How can you hate Dream Team!? LOL!

  • @Robin360 Surely HBO is pretty good though?

  • masive LOL!

  • Oh man that was priceless! She threw a plate at him she slapped him and then she bonged him with the pan. Classic!

  • I love that sound the saucepan makes when it meets Arthur's head, it's like a perfect "BODONG"- priceless.

  • is that why he got a brain hemorraghe?

cant spell it but you know what i mean.

  • i daht sum kind of sick joke ??

  • omg thats so sad not lame i meen!!!!

  • owned 3:54

  • hahahaha lmao at 3:54

And to the person who classed this as domestic violence I think you are looking far to deep into it.

  • No it *is* domestic violence by definition. 'Classed as' is usually a meaningless phrase when used in that way. For some reason abuse against men is seen as funny or acceptable, even against someone who is clearly confused and vulnerable as seen here. Presenting it in fiction as funny just furthers that cultural belief.

  • Comment removed

  • It's funny the way she hit him with the frying pan, then she dropped it on him. It was kind of rubbish acting, because he jerked as he fell, he didn't just fall.

  • dont be so over sensitive. Its not somebody being bullied or repeatedly beaten about like the "little mo" story.

  • I Find It Funny The Way She Says "I Hate You, I Hate You, I Hate You, I Hate You!" :L

    Classic

  • I just started watching this show, do they use alot of props this way LOL?

  • not all the time but sonia hits pauline with her fruit bowel, and her husbands stalker with the same fruit bowel. and den watts gets killed with a dog shaped door stand haha

  • LOL haha

  • the only thing is.. if she REALY had hit him, it would have made more of a clanging noise...

  • good thing it wasnt cast iron, my husband knows ALL our frying pans are cast iron, hehehe...

  • She has been largely associated with household objects!

    Joe, Arthur and Sonia.

  • ahahahahahahahahahah....ahahahahahahahahaha lol

  • shyte she slaped the taste out his mouth!!!!!lol hahaha love British tv!!!!

  • hahahaaha just toooo funny!

  • Pauline had her Mum's chutzpah.

  • 'middle-aged lush' go pauline

  • fantastic

  • She had no family, they died when she was young. R.I.P Wendyxxxxxxxxxxx

  • her acting could of been better but then again its old

  • 1?1?1?1 your a fucktard

  • R.I.P. Wendy Richard.

Only original character left now in EastEnders is Ian Beale. (also known as one Mr Adam Woodyatt)

  • Pauline: "STAY AWAY FROM ME, ARFUR!"

    WHAM!!!

    Brilliant!

  • Jolly good!

  • good on ya paulline fecking sleeping tom!

  • Never mess with Pauline lol

  • lol

  • No wonder why Arthur later died of brain hemorrhage lol, but what a coincidence Pauline also later died of the same thing.

  • yeah, cos didn't sonia or someone hit her on the head with an ashtray?

  • Sonia and Pauline had an argument which made Sonia slap her with some force that Pauline hit her head on the ashtray on the way down.

  • it's was Pauline's sacred fruitbowl. who knew - symbolism in EastEnders.

  • wata violent bitch LOOL

slap punch and hit wiv a pan

    she needz anger management

    oh yeh and R.I.P.

  • i think this was from 1995 i can rememebr this episode funny 'stay away from me aurthur' he he

  • loved it hit him again.

  • she was a wonderful actress never to be forgotten

  • R.I.P Wendy x god rest

  • R.I.P Wendy x

  • wat a hit

  • innit i agree his head must of been hollow though that noise made me laugh ha ha donk lol

  • That frying pan,Pauline battered Arthur with,it would fetch some money at a frying pan auction, with the dent in it,priceless, lol.

  • She's crazy

  • Why do ye al;ways cut the credits????

  • this wasnt the end of the ep.....before the end credits she throws a tv at him!!!

  • wud love to see the full episode!!

  • To me this is how Pauline Fowler will always be remembered before the writers turned her into an evil sour cow. U can tell Wendy enjoyed playing her during this era, back in the 90's. Pauline is and was EastEnders...it took Wendy's death to make me realise this. You will be sadly missed x

  • Thats why Wendy left Eastenders, because she hated how her character had changed!!!

  • RIP Wendy

  • Hilarious! X

  • He should never have followed her into the kitchen.

  • I love it! First throws crockery...then "oops upside the head" with a frying pan! RIP Wendy RIchards love you!

  • SWEETNESS XD

  • How pre PC arguments got sorted. Quality. God bless you Wendy. Pray for us all back here. X

  • I had me first wank lookin at Wendy.

  • RIP Wendy

  • RIP Wendy. You were one of the greats.

  • R.I.P Wendy Richards

  • That was viscious attack on Arthur

  • RIP WENDY x

  • mrs hewitt was hot...well hotter than anything Arfar could dig up beneath the alottment.....

  • Nothing like true love! Great acting perfomance by both. Farewell Wendy. You made a difference.

  • Is it just me or does the bit when she throws the cup look REALLY like they edited it in after?

"Oh hang on a minute, we can't just have them talking all episode?"

"I've got an idea right. See that cup..."

  • The Beale/Fowler family are the best family in EE

  • I reckon she did accidentally hit him for real, she says "arthur" more in shock than anger and then looks down at him to see if he's alright

  • Arthur went down like a ton of bricks when Pauline knocked his brains out with that skillet! But the kitchen is the most dangerous room in which to argue, as Arthur found out.

  • One thing i found odd is Arthur and Pauline died of the same thing, a brain hemorrhage.

  • what the hell is wrong wid u you stupid old women... LOL.

Great show though. Glad it wasnt real.

  • oooooh bet that bloody hurt!!

  • don't keep saying you'er sorry

  • PMSLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!

  • aww the good old times when people didnt have ofcom on speeddial

  • It is such a shame that Arthur, Pauline and Mark Fowler are now dead. This was easily my favourite era of Eastenders (the 90s).

  • Wahey! :-D A Classic moment

  • frying pan moments are great,

there is a good one from oz called taking out the trash, where a jehovas witness gets the treatment

  • I think that Madea (played by Tyler Perry) would have been very proud of Pauline for doing what she did.

  • lol I remember crying out in hysterics when this first aired

I also cried when Arthur died in the allotment

  • Great days... I love Arthur

  • Love the comedy "CLANG!" When she belts him with the pan!

  • wow

  • Great one from 93.

  • September 1993, the month i was born =]

  • she accidently hit him.......she really hit him it wasnt fake

  • Classic 'Enders
