  • you don't have to use a tripod when you use a flash. the flash helps to bring more dynamic into your shot and also, importantly, helps to freeze the moment and allows you to use faster shutter speed.

  • use a tripod with only one leg extended (eg. a monopod) for things that move, you can still move around but have good stability

  • @DavidHeatonPhoto yep good idea

  • Blah, I don't use a tripod at all and shoot bugs all the time. A tripod is almost impossible for bugs, they move too fast.

  • @wallmartkiller good point

  • @wallmartkiller hahaha i can't see my self moving the tripod and chasing the bug all over the place

  • also shoot at highest or smallest ie biggest number f-stop

  • if you use a ring flash, you then have the speed and the light, and almost all your pictures are gonna be yousfull

  • Can you please make a video showing the 100 mm macro mounted on a camera?

    thankx ;D

  • Thanks for the tip!
