  • that is awesome, I was unaware how they taught dividing polynomials overseas, I hope this helps and you are allowed to use this method because it is a great shortcut for certain problems!

  • Wow this is awesome. It helps me divide polynomials a lot easier. They don't teach this in singapore, the only division method taught to us is the universal one that can be used to divide everything/anything though it is extremely tedious and very easy to make careless errors.

  • Do you teach at a public school? You seem like a great teacher! I could easily understand things by the way you teach. I go to a public school and my teachers have never ever told me how to do a problem in such detail as your video. I'm moving to a new school soon and I hope they have a teacher like you. Thank you so much!

  • @InvolvingSoup Yes I do work at a public school, I hope your transition to your new school goes well. Thank you for the nice comments. I hope I can continue to help you and your friends with math!

  • I completely agree with you. We have spent a lot of time in my class understanding factors, zeros in regards to polynomials. I offer another video where I discuss these points. This video is simply the process. As teachers we always have to remember that we are not teaching just teaching how to do something but also why we are doing something

  • Learning to do synthetic division without learning why synthetic division is not learning anything at all.

If someone makes the mistake of (x - k) = (x - 6) and getting k = -6, they don't need to be doing any synthetic division. They need to go back to the basics...

Teaching kids to memorize obscure techniques that they are not ready for is one of the big reasons why kids hate math and suck at it today.

  • yes that is correct

  • Ohhh I see it's only possible to do it synthetic division with the divisor as a binomial???

  • OMG that's the friggin answer! I soooo wish I would've seen this video before my test today......much simpler I'm not too good at the long division polynomials but this I could easily do thanks

  • omg....so after I wrote that comment I paused the video now im at exactly four minutes my teacher does it totally different with the division bar facing the regular way and you just divide the first term of the divisor into the first term of the dividend and then multiply that by the second term of the divisor. Bring it down under the dividend change signs....very important........im very curious about this way though and I think i like it better btw im in college

  • wow......my teacher completely omits like the first 4 minutes of the video lesson when teaching us this stuff.

  • need to know how to match trig functions with their graphs

  • I teach this for pre-calc 10th-12th grade

  • woah what grade do you teach this to?

  • I would say this is excellent maths, however... I cannot. You see, he has invisible hair.

  • I will try to show a slower version of the problem

  • i dont understand any of this. My brain just exploded. XD

  • trying to divide polynomials?

  • wath are yuo doing

  • what's up

  • good morning

  • hi tacha

  • dude your so smart really smart if your this smart you will become a teacher

  • this works great!!!

    thanks! much more simple
