Great dog you have there- I grew up with them too- you need to teach your princess not to poke, pinch and stuff like that though. She has to be as calm to the dog as the dog is to her :) Just because they don´t bite, they can still be annoyed. But beautiful dog!
GREAT dog. Responsible Am. Bully owners can appreciate this video. They adore children and would give their lives to protect them. Good training, reminds me alot of my 3 yr old boy "Cash" who is the family pet but also our guardian.
Active and playful, the American Bulldog loves people and craves constant attention, (though he may not be fond of other dogs and should be kept away from cats).
holy crap seriously! that dog is amazing! The "child" because thats what she is a child us going to poke and prod at things and if you have a torlerant dog trained right they won't attack! morons! I have a 1 1/2 yr old american bull female who looks almost identical and shes the same way kids throw themselves at her and she just takes it plays alittle back and loves it! Best breed ever!
These comments blow my mind. Some people are so ignorant. It's somewhat funny. They judge and criticize something they know NOTHING about. Some people should really get a life. This dog clearly doesn't mind being PLAYED with. Otherwise, I'm sure it would have gotten up and walked away. Hahaha... Entertaining idiots, gotta love them.
I have an American bulldog and a baby. Some of their videos on here are just like this one. The first thing that comes to mind is, "wow, someone has a well trained dog." Be proud of this video. I bet the people being negative about this video have never owned an AMBD and don't understand how much these dogs love the rough attention. I think its precious.
She not hurting the dog accept when she pokes its eye she should have had those little hands slapped. I mean not hard but enough to make her not do it.
All of you can get over yourselves. It is not your dog nor your child so if you don't like it, don't watch or comment it. That girl is older now and nows how to treat a dog. Your opinions aren't needed at all, so keep them to yourselves.
Very patient dog, bad behaving child (why does she bite the dogs paw and hurt his eye?) and horrible, stupid parent (why do u let ur daughter treat the dog so bad?). You can be lucky, that the dog is so patient!Cuddles and physical contact between child and dog is fine, but not like that!
The climbing over and hugging the dog is entirely fine. But you should have stopped her from poking its eye. Even if that dog loved her with all its heart, it could have reacted before it had a chance to think about it and hurt her.
Sorry but I have to agree with majority of other comments...beautiful, patient + intelligent dog and absolutely horrible parenting. Why would anyone allow/teach their child to mistreat a dog....laughing when the child bit the dog, allowing the child to repeatedly poke its eye. Even the most loyal and loving dog might strike out in defense if tormented enough. Please think of the child even if you have no respect for that beautiful animal.
Clearly the jackass taking the video is some white trash faggot or just has no fucking common sense. Granted it's just a baby, but that dog is an animal. The cameraboy should have known better and corrected the baby who was being instigated by some little half dick twerp.
baby is what; 15 ish pounds? that dog is an easy 80-100 and could have done some damage. Jackass filming this needs to get tied down and have someone jump all over him pull and bite his arms and poke him in the eye.
This dog is wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. But all it takes is the baby to poke or pull something that hurts the dog for the dog to snap a warning snap. With a puppy it would be nothing because puppies have fur. With humans, it would probably break skin and the dog would be treated as a vicious animal. HEADS UP! ANIMALS DON'T REALIZE WE DON'T HAVE FUR AND OUR SKIN IS AS THIN AS IT IS. THE ONLY WAY THEY WILL KNOW IS IF THEY DO BITE. I'm just thankful that dog is as gentle as she is.
dont like the eye poking but great dog. very gentil with her because thats what dogs who are treated well do. she could do what ever she wants and he would not care. you know more people get shot every year than bit by dogs.
well that was a bit scary when the child piked the dog in the eye . Im sorry but in germany i think those are the reasons why dogs atack chlidren, and at the end the dog is the bad one . So plz people let your kids treath dogs with more respect .
@idkk24 yes sure, but Kingrairu was referring to the attacks in germany. we've heard of those "dog attacked kid" stories pretty often lately. and often they say: "this dog is dangerous and has to be put to sleep" or even worse, they shoot it. but mostly, the dog wasn't treated properly and sometimes even hungry. and people shpuld always remember, dogs can bite when they're scared. that doesn't mean the dog is aggressive, of course. but many people unfortunately believe this. :(
I love this video because it shows just how great American Bulldogs can be. I have an American Bulldog that looks almost exactly like this one and she is an awesome affectionate loving dog as well. Dogs like people are not a stereotype. Each individual has a personality and it's upbringing and training also play a role on whether it's aggresive or gentle. This video just shows a beautiful bond between a dog and a baby. Love it.
American bulldogs can take ALOT. This kid is not causing any harm (other then poking it in the eye or pulling it's ears). Large breeds can be easily trusted around children because they have huge paintolerances, patience and understand the difference between a child and an adult. This is why small dogs can never be trusted around children.
The guy holding the camera must be the biggest idiot on the planet, who the hell lets his daughter do that kind of stuff to a dog? Even if it´s a nice dog, it could still end up with her getting bitten badly.. and I would hate to see the dog get punished for your lack of IQ
@CAROLMRAMOS actually your wrong because my dog has never bit anyone and she gets poked in the eye all the time . shes been through so much school & is very well trained .
@idkk24 Idk24 I don't think you read what this person said. They are right, you shoud never poke a dog in the eye. Why would that behavior be ok? Larger breed won't attack because they have huge paintolerance and patience, however, poking a dog in the eye does damage to their eye...
@tjopojken Have you ever seen dogs play? They are far more rough on each other then this little girl. Also, large breed dogs are unlikely to bite children. They know the difference and have a lot of patience. Only badly trained/raised large breed might attack... but even then the chances are slim.
awesome video !! it show's the real characteristics of a American Bull dog's love and respect for kiddos :) I have two gargoyles they are lovers of people and very loyal.
If Rosie ever bites that little girl, you have this video to prove why...
That dog is one of the best, but you need to teach your little girl some things about animals, because it would be a shame to see that dog beeing put to sleep because it did something to your daughter...
But the best of luck in the future :o) And take good care of Rosie..
What a fantastic dog, so tolerant and gentle, a great example of the true character of the breed :-)
