i'm gonna get a lot of shit for this but i feel like they had so much more creativity with kurt than jonny. dtbm was good but it wasn't as epic as so many people made out to be. personally i like deathstar and happiness better. and don't call me a "fake" dgd fan cuz i've loved them even with jonny. i just feel kurt brought more to the table in terms of creativity. jonny should just stick with emarosa. they're where he sounds the best

@thadeuce114 I couldn't agree more. Deathstar is my favorite DGD album, and I do appreciate Happiness quite a bit. There are some amazing songs on DBM 1 and 2, but I feel like those albums consist of a lot of "noise" while the Kurt albums have more creativity and structure, but this is just one man's opinion. Jonny is definitley better live I must add though.

I'm glad they finally kicked him out... even though the new singer has like a half inch gap between his teeth haha

If he werent preceded by Jonny everyone would love him. When Happiness came out we saw them moving even further out there with their songwriting, though overall i think the self-tiltled is best. As far as post-hardcore goes, DBM is an amazing album but DGD is better than their genre & they've improved

In my opinion Happiness is a much better record than the Untitled/Death star record. Will's screams go better with Kurt's vocals. No doubt Downtown Battle Mountain is their best record and will be known as one of the premiere progressive/screamo album of my generation. Obviously Jonny/Jon is a better mix than Kurt/Will but i really love what dance gavin dance has become.

"Happiness" by Dance Gavin Dance is easily...easily, the best release of 2009.

Emery's "...in Shallow Seas We Sail," Tides of Man's "Empire Theory," and Jonnie Craig's "A Dream Is a Question You Don't Know How to Answer" are close behind. I'm looking forward to new Pierce the Veil, Misery Signals, and Circa Survive.
