  • does anybody know is where any difference between session dd506 and medeli dd506???

  • the only difference is the brand name. There are quite a few brands that make the dd506: black mamba, session pro, medeli and few other. They all are the same have the same options and sounds. I don't know about the quality of build but other than that, it's the same. Even if i connect my session pro dd506 to the pc it is recognized as a medeli module. Hope that helps.

  • Hi DomberDziku!

Thanks so much for the comment! It's very useful. Now i understand that i don't need to order it abroad and can simply buy it in Russia at the same price (actually, it's quite strange, because usually in Russia we have higher prices)

  • wsio haroszo, paka!

  • =))))) paka! ))

  • hi, domberdziku ! one more question ))) do u think that millenium mps 400 is also dd506 cause it also looks the same )

  • hi! i did not know that this existed until now haha, looks the same tough.. and probably is...

  • Hey i got the drumset now its very good to play on! It's cheap and a pretty good drumset!

  • which one is better the dd505 or the dd506

  • dd506

  • its is i bought the drum kit and it sound amazing (i'm workingt cash moey and guys were amazed at the drum kit, they said this is as good a roland)

  • I have the drumset to it's very good, but i'm going to work so i can buy the roland drumset much better looks like a real drumset ;)

  • @Techvlogs wooot? haha impossible bro, trust me

  • Hey is the drumset good im 15 years old and i'm going to buy it is it good? ;P

  • YEs. :P

  • Yes yes ;] XD dunno what being 15 has to do with it but go get it if u want cheap and working E-drumkit. Unless u shit with money than go get a better one

  • hey man, nice video.. i have the dd506 but i don't know how i can record a video without an amblifier... can u make a video like this one without any amb?

  • hello, both my videos are made without an amp. I just connected the drumms directly to the line in on my PC. Just use a stereo audio cable with jacks on both sides.

  • HA HA yes man im all stoned, and this video kicks ass. i love coal chamber(miss the fuck out of em) you kick some gnarly scrotum on the electro drums bro.

  • cheers ya, haha thanks, im glad u enjoyed it. be good man.

  • hey dude nice cover! i wanna buy headphones for my 506... any sugestions?

  • buy best headphones u can affort. Good headphones make this kit sound a lot better.

  • yes i know, could you suggest me something ?

  • A question?

Since you connect the module of the battery directly to PC or to an interface as(like) m audio

I me am for buying yours the equal one but I have the doubt since(as,like) record it to do a demo of my band

    Regards from Argentine

    Very good your video

  • Im not on about the pads i no they will work im want to know if the cable you plug into the pad will then fit into the module are the roland cables going to fit into the brain module x

  • dd506 has "big" jacks connectors - stereo on cymbals and snare and mono on toms and bass. I don't know about the roland connectors, but as i said couple of times allready - you can usa a transsaver or make a cable yourself.. or even buy one, or ask a friend to make one for you. I can't see really any problem here.

  • Im sorry if you took it personal, just realized that you may have..

  • I have heard them in real life and tried them out. My personal oppinion is just that they are not worth the money they cost. And also fails 40% of the snare and tom hits. over and out

  • fair enough. btw. As about those missed hits - you are right, it's not that grate but it is as well because u need to learn how to play it. It's simply differend than accoustic kit and no pad will ever feel like accoustic drum skin.

  • The default settings of this drum kit have very low sensitivity levels in the pads. You can increase that. I can do gost notes on them so, no problem there. The real problems of sensitivity are in the hi-hat. It does not register buzz rolls, and at higher speeds can miss some hits. Doing swells on the cymbal pads is also not very good. All of these problems are do to poor quality in the cymbals. I phisically twiked my hi-hat cymbal and I can do buzz rolls and it picks all the hits.

  • damn those drums suck imo. not worth the money... o.O

  • FYI - the sound is ment to be like that, i've choosen those sinthetic samples to suit that song.

See my other vid where i am using normal sounds.

As well, wait till u hear our demo recorded using this kit. If after that u still think it sucks - i will say OK cuz you will have the full image. Until than u can be quiet.

  • ....so in other words it will work lol i dont get any of the piezzo stuff

  • ok, type in google : "Piezoelectric buzzer" - that's what's inside a pad.

    Nothing else.

And if shortcircuit the jack cable which is connected to the brain it wil send signal as well so it will make sound. All i am saying is that there is NO difference between cheaper and expensive pads other than build quality and u can change the connector to any other that u need and EVERYTHING will work.

    Arghh... X]

  • ok thanks mate, I'm going to get a roland mesh head its a 1"4 standard jack will this fit the brain module?

  • listen - the pad is nothing else than just a piezzo electric trigger. There is nothing more inside. Everything else is inside the brain module. That means u can connect anything piezzo or even a normal microphone in there and it will work. If there is difference in the connectors - i still can't see any problem. Use a transsaver (or whatever it is called in english) or simply make a cable yourself if you can.

    Good luck and enjoy.

  • hay i just got this kit. Overall it's good. The hi-hat is poor and so is the snare it doesn't pick up alot of things. Ino u can't add to the kit but can you replace the snare to a mesh head and the cymbals to better quality ones??? if so which ones wil work.

  • Hi, You can change those pads to any other ones really. You can also modify those ones so you will have mesh pads. There is a vid on yt somewhere, search for dd505 mesh head.

  • Hey there, I take it your using the stock brain in this video? Are you using a custom brain in the lamb of god video?

    Awesome kit btw :D

  • HI man, i am using stock brain in both vids and all the time basically.

In this clip i choosed that kind of sounds on purpose - so it will be more "industrial" ya know. Anyway, dd506 has good sounds and there is quite few to choose from + u can tune them up and down, add reverb and change velocity curve.

  • What "mods" did you do to the kit in the LoG video because, tbh, it sounds absolutely beast.

Your drumming in the other vid is awesome too...is the double kick pedal you use a longboard?

  • no " mods" here mate ;] stock stuff - only the double pedal is from my acoustic kit and it is a Pearl PowerShifter P-122TW

  • awosome, if you can remember, what kit number was the other video using?

Would you say the P-122 is a good double kick pedal? Never used one before :)

  • uhhmm... naa man i can't remember right now which setting i've been using but it is one of the built-in ones.. 18? or somewhere like that.

As about the pedal - it's gooood ;] it's just those soft endings on the beater that wear out quite fast but beside that - it kicks well.

  • Thanks for your help :P I'm buying a ekit as my acoustic set is too loud now as the people nextdoor just had a baby. I was gonna go with the dd505 but I think after watching you vid I'll go with the dd506, thanks a lot dude =D

  • ya man, the dd506 is the only option for that money u can go for if you want to use "normal" double pedal.

Not many edrumkits offer that. dd505 simply didn't have enough large bassdrum pad for exapmle. Good luck man, keep rockin! no excuse ;]

  • Thasnk for your help in answering my questions on this kit, Ive bought one , its wicked and certainly gives the Rowland and yamaha models a run for its money and its cheaper . with its extra features and the fact the drum kick comes with this kit . the hi hat cymbal plastic tap noise is a bit annoying . but just turn the sound up .... im going to record a proper review at some point , so watch out

  • ;] excelent man! we are waiting for that review! glad that i could help!

  • Hey - What cable did you use to link yours up, I have the same kit, but mine didnt come with a midi cable or usb. What do you use and what software did you record it with? cheers

  • Hi, i used just a simple stereo audio cable with small jack on both sides and with a transsaver to a big jack on the drumkit side(audio output). What Software? i recorded that with crappy soft from the webcam. You can buy a USB cable in any computer shop i'ts the same as for a printer. USB works in this case same as MIDI would. U don't get midi, audio or usb cables in standard when u buy it. If using USB get EZdrummer with Cubase.

  • whats better this or the alesis dm5 pro im stuck ????///

  • dunno to be honest. Didn't try the dm5. I'm happy with this kit it does it;s job.

  • Can you plug ur ipod into the kit so that u can play with the songs from ur ipod?

Also can u use headphones with the drum kit?

Im just askin cause im gettiin a electric kit.

  • 1 - Yes! you can connect anything to the audio IN, u just need a cable with a small jack on each end.

2 - It;s got headphones OUT and AUX OUT and most sellers include some headphones with it, but i would sugest to buy proper ones cuz it really makes the difference.

  • The tool kit on the table is better than that drummer...

  • yeah.. true.

  • the dd 506 have good sound? becouse in the video de sound is not very good. maybe i buy one dd 506 give me your opinion about dd 506 please

  • posting the same thing on every vid is called SPAM. Don't u know that? ;P the sound is good. When u record it with a band it sounds good. If u can't play drumms - no drumkit will sound good. On this vid i've choosen that sound especially for the song. U saw the other vid(u posted d same comment) and it has normal sound there and i wouldn't say it sounds "not very good" mate... Truth is - using proper quality headphones with the dd506 makes a lot of difference. PEACE.

  • yeah thats well help full dude! thanksss x

  • hey there! awesome drumming! ive got some questions if you dont mind? ok, can u add bits to this drum set? Does it come with all the wires neeed to play? and can you play the song The Pretender by the Foo Fighters, with the pads/cymbals you get with the kit?

  • ehmm.. ok: 1-you can't add anything unless using other device connected via midi. 2-It comes with all connecting cables needed to work and u get the bassdrum pedal in standard, some of the sellers add headphones a stool and a pair of sticks as well. 3-it's a 5 piece kit with 2 cymbals but each one can have 2 sounds (depending on where u hit it so that makes 4 cymbals + hihat ofcourse) , so u can play allmost everything i guess. Does that help?

  • Come to think of it i have another question if you don't mind, what amp are you using, is it a dedicated drum amp, thanks.

  • no i don't mind ;P well, i don't have my own amp, and i just play on the headphones.

I've plaid it couple of times on a guitar amp borrowed from my friend. They are selling some "dedicated" drum amps but to be honest.. those are bass guitar amps. Anyway it doesn't sound that good on those amps, i think the best way is to use some PA system + a small monitor to hear yourself. I reccomend to buy best quality headphones you can affort - it really does matter. Good luck.

  • Ok i'll give that a go, thanks for answering.

  • What settings are you using, because mine sounds like shit, especially the hi hat.

  • can't remember right now which setting that was.. but anyways, i've made some own kits from differend sounds, and most of all, i've changed the velocity curve and some other settings so it sounds better and feels better - at least for me. The built in kits are not that good but if u spend some time on setting your own you should be more happy with it.

  • I've got a dd505

    PREETY GOOD!!

  • is the kit agustable?

  • if you mean "adjustable" - than yes, it is. In way of adjusting the height and position of the pads as well as in way of adjusting the voices. you can tune the sounds up and down and there is lots of them too. You can set it up in any way u want really. The pads have adjustable velocity sensitivity and all that kind of stuff.

  • sweet! Thanks alot :)

  • how do you record the drums, I tried but it sounds really bad

Do you have a cable to plug it into your computer?

  • hmm.. well i don't have any special cable, this recording was made using a normal audio cable -big mono jack to small stereo jack (one channel, using a converter), connected to the left(mono) output channel in the brain and to the line in on the PC. You just need to adjust the recording volume. Now i am using a cable which i made myself - 2 big mono jacks to 1 small stereo jack. It works the same way only u got the "panoramic" stereo effect of the drums which is not that much noticable onthe rec

  • Hi, I just wanted to know how you find the DD506? Have you had and problems with it? Have you had to take it in for repairs either to the modul or heads? Ive contacted a few drum stores on the central coast and they are steering me away from it. Are they justified in their actions or as an owner would you recomend it for a begginer like me? I can get the kit for $899.

  • I find it good

I got it when I was begging drums and I have it as it is my only set

    I got it for £345

  • The drum kit is really good value - i just got it for the equivalent of $560 here in the UK. Maybe the store workers are trying to persuade you to buy a more expensive kit. The DD506 has amazing features which many of the higher priced kits don't have.

  • this song is so sik an u play well my friend and im gettin this kit very soon lol,

you've got a jazz / Rnb lover rocking to this song. legend

  • ah sweet ;)

i was got a new job and my drum kit previously which worked till i kinda played on it to hard was an ion thinkwhich was ok but shit

see i was curious because of the style of music wi wanna do coz some drum kits dont alwwo you to have double kick pedal but im happy now as sopon as i have enough money im buyin 1 :D

  • would you be able to use a double bass pedal on this kit?

  • yes, ofcourse ;] dd506 has a big trigger specially for the double pedal. Check out my other vid to see how it works. This is really a good drumkit for that price.

  • yes, you can use a double bass

  • what is the name of this song

  • sorry, i should mention that in the vid info. It's Shock the monkey by Coal Chamber (actually it's a cover of Peter Gabriel's song)

  • nie musimy zakladac picolo coro del antoniano mniejszy sklad i jakos sie wyjdzie na swoje :)

  • hmmm moze cos pograc i zarobic milion dolcow ?

  • hmmm ;] why not? ;P ale milion to mao hehehe
