I heard this for the first at a resturant in Belize back in 1998 when I was in 7th grade on vacation, I FINALLY tracked the song down after all these years lol
a nice classic remix; i remember being at being at Fort Gordon in Augusta, GA when I first heard this tune. Thank you for having this remix dreampopgirl
I take it this the US version. too fast unlike the UK version but still not too bad. Why can't the US leave all the brilliant UK songs alone after all we make the best music and they make shite like Tamella Motown and Crap with the missing C. I mean why fuck up a perfect song when you can't improve anything that is perfect. They've not actually killed this song but they haven't done it any justice either.
@alecahauf This was absolutely a UK remix, by Motiv8 (a guy from Cambridge who also remixed other overly-English bands like Pulp and Saint Etienne *and* produced our Eurovision entry one year - Gina G.) There were four remixes on the original UK single and three more on the reissue, so it's definitely not an American thing. You might like the Mother Dub, as it's quite slow and dark. But the others are ridiculously cheesy and jolly.
@alecahauf Oh dear, no. Not at all. This is the Motiv 8 remix, and he's English.
It's a bit harsh to call Tamla Motown "shite", by the way. Of course you're entitled to your opinion, but that's an entire genre of multi-generation inspiring music you're dismissing there.
And not all Rap is "crap". Public Enemy for a start are one of the best bands ever.
I couldn´t quite remember exactly who sang this song originally, I first heard the cover done by Lacuna Coil, and it is really good, but this definitively shows me that pop has great songs, words from a full mind rocker !
Can someone please tell me where i can find this song to download for free??? I can't find it anywhere on the internet(not even through limewire) =( Any help would be really appreciated. Message my inbox...

to me this is the best version of this track, uplifting the original well. it's not a classic, but the simple keyboard work goes really well with the original vocals and is very catchy. it feels better than the calmer version, but it is all a matter of personal taste!
also brings back fond memories of 90s dance music.
I love this song, especially the remix. Here's a bit of useless info, I went for a drink once, back in 1995 or '96, with one of Sarah Blackwood's former housemates, a man called Charlie. It was a very random 'date.' When I hear this song, I think of him. Nice man. Sadly, not my type and probably vice versa!
Classic top tune,,,Simon Mayo on his Radio 1 days used to play an excellent extended version.....never been able to find it though...anyone have any ideas...its not he Way out West mix unfortunately....
A remix designed to blend in with all the other nightclub remixes, which is fine in it's place but not a scratch on the calmer drive and surge of the original which
A/ was more appropriate to the meaning of the song and
Both of you are imbeciles , you can't compare two different genre's of music. The original and mix are both incredible in there own style and should be given credit where its due
It is also on the Stars: The Best of Dubstar cd. It is a hidden track found at the end of the CD after the song "self same thing." You can't find it by going to it so you have to go to the end of the song. That is where it begins. Its a nice "easter egg".
I directed this for the band in Death Valley CA years and years ago.. it was a simple but poweful concept and we had a fkn blast in the furnace.. The band are mad-cool people and the idea was to make an Epic cinematic clip for this classic song. The huge wideshots in the desert add a spatial scale/dimension to the imagery that is unseen in music videos, especially back in the day..
Great song/remix. Brings me back to senior year; college of course. Yes, the mid-90s, when you could get away w/ so-so videos for great tunes. 3 minutes of the same scenes played back; over, and over...Annoying, in retrospect.

Good 90s style mix, simple, compliments the song well, doesn't sabbotage the song at all.
Why cant music be as good as this anymore...

It says a lot about a song when you like all of the mixes.
For me its
1- Original
2 Way out west
3 Motiv-8 (this one)
That order changes depending on state of mind.......
