If you like this, check out early sos. I.E. Dirty Money, Taxi Town, Spirit Moves, Masquerade, Fever, etc., you'll find that sos made a career out of auditioning for a BOND film that has yet to see the light of day. Shame!
It's SO clear that Andy wasn't part of this... I even doubt if she or he is really Crinne... YES is like a Day another day sample... and the same as alomost boring...

this is actually an earlier version of Secret Love...its from a Japanese Shampoo commercial...album track is a later recording...also,Andy wasn't on this, just Corinne
The album version is without doubt stronger and considerably deeper in terms of arrangement, but this one is catchy dance pop, it's got its' charm. I've grown to like it.
I think SOS keep getting better with time...love this song as much as the 80's "Breakout" and "Twilight"...keep on keeping on...Hey Stacey listen to this one more time...My new favorite since they wrote this one for me....
Check out "Paris Match" they sound so much like "Swing Out Sister", songs are; Rainbow Puzzle, With The Kiss Of The Sun, Coffee Machine, Saturday. Videos are by "Stereodeluxe" check it out on their youtube site.
Swingoutstevie is right on the mark. Just heard the official SOS version of this, as well as the title cut "Beautiful Mess." Any fan will be relieved and thrilled when they hear these tracks to find that SOS have not lost their way after all. The gimmicky "Die Another Day" mix heard here gives way to a much fuller, more lush arrangement with the cinematic quality that's become their hallmark. I'll be hunting down my copy of Beautiful Mess. (Thank God there's a Virgin Megastore in my area...)
The original you can hear on MySpace and meets all the expactions that a Swing Out Sister fan could have. That is also the version that can be heard on their new album 'Beautiful Mess'.
As this is still the most underestimated soul band in the world (and Corinne Drewery the most underestimated singer) I would like to take this chance to advise and encourage everyone to take good listen to it and get it!!
Thank You for posting this, finally I get to here this song! SWING OUT SISTER RULES!!! I LOVE CORRINE & ANDY THEY ARE THE GREATEST!!, love everything they do, including this funky little ditty...OF COURSE WE ALL KNOW VINYL SOUNDS BETTER THAN CD!!!
Well, this proves that SOS can sound completely in the moment. Whether they SHOULD go in this direction is another story. While the production is dense and imaginative, I just don't think it shows them at their best. Hoping this is a one-off, and not a sign of things to come...especially coming off their exquisite set Where Our Love Grows. But who knows? I was totally put off at first by Filth and Dreams, til I put the CD in the car and let it grow on me. Today I rank it among their best.
This new single is so off the mark. I hope this is not a permanent musical direction change for Corrine and Andy. The arrangement reminds me of a cheaper Madonna ( die another day) Bondsong-version, pretty boring.
I'll be crossing my fingers and hope their new release is a return to what they do best. Cool, modern, breezy bossa nova tunes.
I agree with your comment! I am a HUGE S.O.S. fan and find this song to be really bland. This sounds very quickly put together and yes, very James Bondish!
OK-OK-OK, let's get something straight here, this tune was recorded for a Japanese TV commercial, it is not really a "Swing Out Sister" effort, since Andy had nothing to do with it. Corinne was hired to do the TV commercial and this is the material that was supplied to her.
Swing Out Sister's new album, "Beautiful Mess" will be released on Feb. 27, 2008.
Sounds just as generic as all the rest of today's music. What I love about Swing Out Sister is they go against the grain. Hopefully the rest of the album will be different from this.
Well said, this is complete garbage. Less pop , more jazz, this is just whoring out your talent. There's so much more talent in the voice, and music for this trash!
Ironically I have listened to them as long, and their jazz sound is great. This is absolute garbage. Don't descend to the level of every other pop band with a drum machine. There is so much more talent especially vocally but musically as well. This is just like every other bit of pop garbage out there today
This is great, but not really representative of SOS. Corinne sings great as usual, but her partner Andy Connell did NOT write or participate on this song at all. It's written by a Japanese composer, it's really a song for a Japanese commercial for a beauty cream...
But a new album is coming in February 2008: "Beautiful Mess"! :-)
WOW!!!!.....Have they changed their style or what?!!! Seriously though, it's great to hear something COMPLEATLY different from that amazing musical chamelion that is....the one and only S.O.S!! long may they live!!
This song was actually written for a Japanese Shampoo/Conditioner "Segreta" commercial. I like this song very much!

I like this song.... but.. does anyone notice the similarities to Madonna's song Die another Day?

My wife thinks they sampled parts of Madonna's song in this one.
Don't know for sure.

It sounds a bit like Die Another Day, but they just used similar "sample chopping" I think
