  • nohsarrer2 - only partially if at all. without cigarettes, drugs booze and with some proper on stage pacing and shows limited to 90 minutes, his voice could have gone on for years.

  • Actually this is an infamous show where Plant recovering from laryngitis (his "high range being shot was another story) and the show being so bad, reviewers said it was "no where near adequate." As indeed the case.

  • SRTH footage shot entirely in 1973, not 75'

  • plant voice is in awful shape but jones makes up for it. Listen to Jones party on the bass.

  • He sounds like Rod Stewart here. lol

  • 0:29 Plant sings "Voice is sore from shouting".

Couldn't have put it better myself. RIP the old pre-73 Plant.

  • They always sucked after the fourth tour in 69 by the time they hit Chicago. I saw the worst one ever, Jimmy passed out in through the third song. Never got my money back. Although, seeing the third show of Plant and Page in Little Rock 16 years ago made up for it! Got on the front page 'no pun intended' so we are cool! :)

  • Ricohhhhhhh-la

  • Percy could have sure used a spot of nice black tea,but was probably drinking some of Jimmy's Jack Daniels and smoking a lot cowboy killers------------Marlboros.

  • This recording is just terrrible! It sounds just like a worn out cassette tape that's been played too many times or has been sitting around too long or is just a plain f'd up cassette tape. PLEASE, if you have any respect for Zep, don't even post this awful, disgracefull recording of them on the net, when it's not a true example of the awesome music they made.

  • @Bill1122 Zep fans can see past recording quality. We understand this is a bootleg recording and that boots diminish true sound. That said, I can see where you're coming from too.

  • @Bill1122 dont think so, the musicianship here is pure magic!! even plant without voice has more magic than all new bands career, please post more

  • Plant is so good in slaming, why does he try to sing ? ahahahahaha

  • henri cherrie' loves zepp?

  • Thanks for uploading. I was actually at this show...............had one more year of high school ahead!

  • Live footage would'a been kewl.

  • I'm thinkin' Percy's voice is a little soar from shouting.

  • wow this is really funky...and Bonham was the greatest...

  • bottom line drugs destroyed zeppelin in the very late 70s

  • @TruthAxe you must be mentally impaired...jimmy page is one of the most innovative guitarist of his time...and of all time for that matter..the blues based hard rock was all him...so go munch a fat one

  • @mymymymarski You amuse.

Mere words set you off to attack me. So who's mentally impaired?

  • dont forget he smoked cigarettes

  • i do hate weed im not a drugie idoit. and i know alot about zeppelin i read there bio books

  • your no scholar either

  • @NateageIV Haha all one 1 of them

  • Plant is sounding like louis Armstrong here.

  • -3 why? his poor vocal cords was from the weed thats why his voice crahsed in the later years he had a great voice early then it crashed when he continued the weed page was on fire till 77 and bonzo and joneszy never crashed

  • actually plants voice had its demise from over use.

Listen to any 69-71 bootleg and you can tell why plants voice was lost.

When you're hitting a G5 vocal note using nothing but head voice 20 times a night every night for 3 years....

  • gotta remember whitney houston hits G5's for anyone who doesnt know what that is. robert could nail them to

  • But She doesnt and cant hit them in Head Voice. Head voice strains your vocals. Women dont really have head voice too, so it comes easier i presume, i dont know that for sure though... Considering im not a woman. aha.

  • very true lol

  • @sharrer2 lighten up

  • @bluu999 I am aha. But Plant's voice is strained, and it's saddening. He should of tried to make it last longer. But then again... We wouldn't of had the same Zeppelin. :]

  • Damn you're a noob. Don't hate on the weed. Plant also smoked cigarettes. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think Plant actually got vocal surgery in 1973 and that's likely the reason for the vocal deterioration.

  • how in hell would you know that ? you wouldn't .

  • YOU ARe A FUCKING MORON

  • ok drums bass guitar on fire PLANT STOP WITH THE WEED LOL

  • FUCKING MORON

  • One of the best live versions I've ever heard. Thank you riky......

  • Oh, poor vocal cords.

  • Talk about a man who knows how to tune his drums!!

  • ROCK N ROLL WORLDS BEST EVER!~

  • Doesn't get any better than this. Yes, Plants voice is shot, but the band is on FIRE!!!

  • Plant's voice is shot here. I had this SB, but traded it for the audience boot, which is more forgiving to Plant's troubled throat. Great bass work here by Jonesy.

  • THAT'S music!~

  • This was a concert with a lot of fist fights in the audience (hence the boot's name, "Second City Showdown")... Percy had to plead for peace several times in-between songs ... crowd may also have been a little upset at the raw condition of Plant's voice, otherwise the band is in excellent form at this show.

  • I was there!!

  • Great guitar work! Give Plant some Ricola and honeyed tea.

  • lol!thank you for comment...well not the best Percy...but a rare gig!thank you for comment.G.o.R.L.Z.

  • you've could have been there personal doc or somethin'!

  • Sweet but Plants voice sounds a bit "worn" here. I actually like the Celebration '75 clip from the Song Remains The Same better but this is nice man thanks!

  • well it's a rare file...I pick up everything i find of '73 tour,because i love it and I want to share it with the world!well robby isn't at the top,but still a kickin'asses performance!G.o.R.L.Z.

  • Thanks rikyhendrixx for bringing out the many greatest tracks recorded EVER live from the legends of rock and groove riffers!

  • @rikyhendrixx I feel as though their live show was never as good after '73. Plant's voice is really strained by '77 and Jimmy's playing at times was lackluster. Ego's, Drugs and booze will always take down the best rock bands, it's sad.

  • @Ixtee1979 im agree, i'd add sex also, look at Freddie Mercury, from Queen.

  • @rikyhendrixx The 73 tour was great but the 77 beats all

  • Yeah Plant lost his good high pitched voice after the U.S. 72 Tour, from there it went to Japan where he could still sing high but he couldn't belt it with his voice cracking, then on the U.K. 72 tour his voice was still high but a far step down from Japan and on the first show of 73 his voice was gone, he didn't even sing high on Stairway. Although it sounds like he is sick here his voice seems particularly rough.

  • At the Jun 73 San Fran Kezar show he sounds like the old Plant! He's belting it out full range..
