Damn it, I love that opening. Sends chills down my spine. The whole fucking song does, actually. I love it.
'Identifying bodies which are decomposed, dismembered, skeletalized poses a very serious problem. We've had many cases in this department where a body has been found in pieces, or decomposed and we've been able to put things together.'
The dialogue might be from one of the "Faces of Death" documentary movies, many of the dialogues used by The Berzerker in their songs are taken from there. I'm not sure about this particular song tho.
the guy (is his name luke?) is very much influenced by a style of electronic music called speedcore, which based almost completely around massive dirty kickdrums at ridiculous tempos. look it up, you may like :)
saw them live a few months ago, was amazing, but my mate and i tried to get a smash pit going and i mean fucking tried, but everyone spaced themselves from us and all we succeded in doing was coping a couple of punches to the face, dissapointed in the melbourne crowd that night :(
Seen them last night w/ Obituary and Goatwhore. It was like a nuke bomb going off for an hour. Great show and very intense. No One Wins live is bad ass.
Dunno what everyone is arguing about, its a tribute to show respect, not a fucking competition. Both versions are brutal in their own way and both are great.
I have to say The Berzerker's version is better. Not that Carcass is bad, but when I listen to the original version, I don't get much of an urge to destroy shit as I do with The Berzerker's version.
I don't hate genres as a whole, just as a majority. Metalcore as a majority sucks, but there is some alright stuff, same with glam, deathcore and other types of music.
They're both good. I prefer Carcass's original version, but the electronic drumming adds an interesting element to the song. It's hard to say which one is necessarily better - they're just different.
some of the drums are programmed and some the drummer plays on an electric kit. at least live, not sure about studio. he also drums over programmed stuff to make a harmony, if you can call it that.
dude in my opinion the carcass version sounded like those fucking aliens in resistance dude but i still give them credit for inventing those badass riffs
Obviously your egos are too high to ever do this but ffs listen to the god damn song and stfu or go listen to some other shit. You people are trying to etiquette this music like some kind of idealistic elitists.
Industrial death metal. Why the fuck would you be disgraced about this when METALcore is running loose. That has metal in its title and it fucking blows! Also glam metal is shit.
What a rape. Seriously some dumb fucks ruining metal. If you make this kind of music, at least get a name for it. Don't just steal a name, this is what scares people of if they hear the word metal.
I've been into The Berzerker for some years now. If it wasn't for this posting, I might not be into Carcass. I saw these comments, looked up the live version of this song (and few others) then I ran out and bought Necroticism. I love it!
As for whose version is better... I think that Carcass' version is inherently better because its their song, but the Berzerker definately made it their own.
i love how well the drummer has mastered blasting and following the rythm guitar with double kick, it sounds fuckin awesome is some of the band's faster songs like "No One Wins"
you do kno that carcass was one of the bands that inspired these guys and i guess they just wanted to do a tribute? i dont mind it but i prefer some of there other songs (please dont bother arguing i wont reply)
and or because luke kenny when it was just him he did alot of remix type things from bands like deicide and morbid angel (i think) he just wanted to do one of carcass but with his type of style (again please dont bother starting a argument i wont reply)
both have their ups and downs IMO. in general i prefer the original, but depending on what mood i'm in i often prefer the cover up to the point with the stupidly fast double bass. while that kind of speed is amazing it gets a bit much after there IMO. carcass' version wins for overall listenabilty IMO.
BTW, i'm a big berzerker fan, its not like i can't handle this degree of heavyness, its just something about this cover.
agreed! the berzerker needs to be played with absolute precision, and if someone is brave enough to take on the task, editing is allowed to correct what didn't go quite right.
i actually don't know what gary does nowadays.. could try googling!
there is no doubt that the drums for dissimulate weren't pro-tools'd a lot.

well unlike u, its obvious to keep an open mind, Carcass may hold claim to the original version but this version is cleverly done in that they can convert the synthesizer to match the opening drums from the original and that it is heavier then the original in double bass and snare abuse
