  • great film!!

  • I saw this movie and I wanted to smack those people for the hell they put their kids. I see that this movie has been a showcase for a bunch of left wing comtards who wouldn't knew reality was if it hit them on the head.

Inequality is great, and guess what. It will always be with us. Without inequality we wouldn't be able to find the capital to build things and fund new businesses.

  • @taycottam I long for the day right wingers and fascists will be considered like royalists or monarchists in the US: creatures in the verge of extinction. Anarchy FTW!!!!

  • @taycottam This movie wasn't supposed to be strictly about politics. It's a shame you missed that. (At least "left wing comtards" understand the usage of basic grammar and sentence structure.)

  • viva la revolución cubana

  • @gealoa VIVA!!!!

  • I mean, 1:07 :P

  • Which is the name of the song that starts on 1:09 ?

  • What a film, amazing.

  • This film was very good and I agree with 'tiagothefrog'. Nina Kervel was wonderful in this film, so let's hope she is offered more roles in future, as she puts many adult actors to shame.

  • fidel did drive people from their homes, but with good reason. why should 1 family have all the luxuries when thousands more have almost nothing!

  • I love this movie!

  • aahhhhhh, fuck Fidel

  • @goPistons06 Fuck Fidel, communism and socialism

  • I. Loved. This.

    Just saying.

The girl who plays Anna is amazing.

  • This film was great! I saw it on the Sundance channel. I really want the soundtrack or music from this film. Really good stuff. haha

  • great movie! nina is a great actress, and she is only a little girl. bet she's gonna be in big movies soon.

  • Whether communism/marxism is morally right or wrong is irrelevant because it's just not the way things work in the real world.

Why would anyone put any more than the bare minimum amount of effort into their work if it was just going to be given away?

  • @SpecialFester read about why Linus Torvalds gave away Linux.

  • Nina did a amazing job! i saw this movie on the sundance channel!

  • Brilliant movie I managed to watch it free here THECINEMA {.} tv

  • Lovely music in this film. Can one describe a 9 year old's performance as masterful? I'd like to. Tear jerker even for a middle age male. Tears for Chile and for youth. Julia Gavras carries forth the great tradition of Costa Gavras' Missing' with Jack Lemmon and Susie Spacek. Extraordinary.

  • the little girl is beauty

  • @lesteralex83

Makes it difficult to concentrate on the subtitles, eh?

  • anyone know where I can find the soundtrack to this movie? I know who did the music for it, but I can't seem to find it anywhere, and it's not on any of his soundtracks :/

  • have just watched this movie.

the little actress is superb. the movie is quite above average...if you have the chance, see it!

    very moving and thought provoking.

  • Thanks, but if I earn my money I want to keep it or give it away to charity. You work for your money, you have that right. Communism sucks. You wouldn't know - you're from the US, where it was "cool" to like communism once. My family had to live it. It is the most terrible political system in the world, and communists are no better than Nazis.

There's a REASON conservatives give 30% more to charity than lefties of equivalent wealth - we don't need the government to make us do things.

  • I think what you meant to say was "my family had to live under an authoritarian dictator who further class differences rather than abolish them".

Stalinism was no better than Nazism, this is true, but Marxism (a political, social, and economic system) is the exact opposite of it.

As for your 30% statistic, you should have just said nothing. Unless of course you have a legitimate source.

Keep in mind that I am not trying to argue for communism, but merely point out flaws in what you have said.

  • No, I didn't mean to say that. And yes, that 30% statistic has been reported in the Washington Post, a quick Google will fix that up for you.

Communism, in practice, is as bad as Nazism. It certainly killed more people. They are both evil systems, and if you would deign to read The Communist Manifesto, it isn't exactly nice.

  • im supposing that your family lived in the USSR

    and so did mine

it wasn't actually based on the ideals described by marx, the government only used that political system to gain power

true communists are better than nazis because their beleif is that everyone should be equal, and in equal oppotunties -unlike nazis who beleive in extreme inequality (for instance jews and gypsies were not deemed to live amounst society)

stalin, however, was no better than a nazi

  • And how did the communists believe that everyone should become equal? Yes, the Soviet Union was BASED upon the ideas described by Marx, and no, Marx is by no means the only communist philosopher, and the USSR was communist as it followed some ideas of Marx and some ideas of other communists. What you're saying is like saying that Hitler was the only fascist, even though Mussolini was also fascist and had a very different way of running a country.

  • cont.

The sad fact may be that the ideals described by marx are not possible to the greed of human nature. and as for your conservatives gives more than liberals- you're simply forgetting that the very act of giving to charity is lowering your wealth to increase others -a liberal idea!

your argument just dosn't make any sence!

next time think before you comment.

  • I really don't think you understand liberalism or conservatism, you may want to improve your knowledge of political theory. I'll just leave it there and let you do your own research, because I can't be bothered to do it for you.

  • I just saw the movie in Cinemax (latinoamerica) One of the best films ever!!!!

  • ahmm Does anyone know where can I get this film in México?

  • Yeah, I have also been looking for it, but I cannot find it anywhere.

  • ni idea, yo tambien la ando buscando. =/

  • i LOVE this movie. the parents are asses for putting them through that.

  • my brother, genjal, wanted me to let it be known that I wrote that comment using his name. I'm the one who loves this movie not him.

  • the parents aren't really asses thet did what they felt was best. They didn't intentionally harm anyone, and they obviously felt bad about forcing sucg drastuc change on their children, as evident by the mother thanking ana when she compares changing nannies to changing schools. the kids, especially ana grew from the experience, and children who grow up like that usually grow up to be successful and better for those experiences, rivers cuomo grew up on an ashram. Oscar Wilde as well.

  • Great vid, btw, I'm raising awareness about the Chinese Communist Party persecution of 70 million Falun Gong spiritual practitioners for 10 years in China. They are put in slave-labor camps, forced to make stuff sold here. A 2009 UN report said vital organs are even taken from them and sold on the black market. Falun Gong practitioners are peaceful, not terrorists. China is where all the jobs are going, and the media doesn't cover it. It must stop. Thanks.

  • It made me laugh.

    It made me cry.

It reminded me of what it's like to be a child.

    This is the best film!

  • juste magnifique! il ressemble a un film drole

  • You are mistaken, the film is superb! One of the best films I've ever seen. The girl is just marvelous. C'est vraiment magnifique, On peut rire beaucoup et aussi on peut réfléchir sur la situation de la petite fille qui a une vie différente.

  • Wow, maybe I'll see this tonight.

  • beautiful film

  • 'La faute a Fidel' is perceptive, funny and witty.Marvellous movie!

  • Does anyone know the name of the piano song that plans in the beginning of this trailer? It plays in the movie, itself, as well... beautiful.

  • The music is from Armand Amar and the album you can find it in is most probably called Moving Music. The exact name of the song however is unknown to me as well. Hope this narrowed your search down a little.

  • Maravilhoso!!

    Um belo, belo filme.
