If only the world leaders could listen truly listen to this song..... and promise to be and vote and do all in their power to take this to the next level... Our world would be such a perfect place and we ALL could live learn and love together and the world would truly be a better place................
i prefer the version on "jacque brel is alive and well and living in paris" but this is just as beautiful in its own right. too bad we don't have love... :*(
Oh what an enchanting song of peace, love anfd of hope .I love to listen to different versions from different stars and Olivia Newton-John did this one back in the 70's and her rendition is like hearing a song from heaven being sung to us.And to hear THE Johnny Mathis sing this one just made my entire day.I like to pick songs and practice them them myself and this is one i will learn from the master. If we only have love ,we would not be in our war with those Afghanistans.
The pure angelic voice of Johnny Mathis is an inspiration and brings so much peace to a wreay soul in these trying times. I love the music he brings. Thank you Johnny for your talent and the joy you have brought to so many of us over the years..
Great song with great lyrics written by a genius and sung by an equally great performer. I am fortunate to have this album (LP) which is quite good. This song is by far the feature tune on the album.
Pas mal non plus la voix chaude ensoleillée et profonde de Johnny ! J'ai envoyé le message sur Youtube par erreur. Heureusement que je disais pas de conner... oh pardon, de bêtises. Trop speed quelquefois ! hi hi
all correct. Johnny Mathis Live In Las Vegas is the album. Rolling Stone rates it as one of his best. My father, Mike Lucas, is the pianist backing up Johnny, so this is a rather special album to me. SO glad Johnny still has fans out there!
Hello my name is Type555 I am a Johnny mathis Fan. Thanks for posting the video of johnny mathis if we only have love What album is this on? And could you show more clips of him on that concert thanks an happy holiday P.s Can you tell me the name of that concert? From Type555. .
I think this is from his live album "In Person". I may be mistaken though. Currently I don't have anything else from that particular album. I do have one other video posted, and am still trying to find other songs to post. At least one's that aren't so common. Thanks for the comment, I think he's great too.
@Audriene This is indeed from the Live In Las Vegas LP. My dad is the pianist on this album - I think I know every song backwards and forwards! No one like Johnny in the business.
@niamhorourke You are SO lucky to have a dad who played with the great JM - and his riffs on this track at the beginning are lovely. I can't remember whether Ro yRogosin was the conductor or arranger on this: it's a while since I read the sleeve notes I think the strings are just stunning and this is a far more emotional performance than Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris. Hope you never tire of hearing JM-he's a true gent.
You are in luck. This song appears on the album "Live In Las Vegas" which is available on Amazon, vinyl only. It was recorded at Caesar's Palace in 1972, with my father at the piano. Special album for me. Good luck!

Beautiful song, beautiful rendition. Dionne Warwick's version is beautiful, as well.

I am not a big Johnny Mathis fan however, I adore this song, and of all the artists who do renditions of this song, Johnny Mathis does it best!

I saw it at the Village Gate (NYC) in the 60's or 70's with the original cast - fabulous.

JM has a following that has become legendary, as is his music. HIs music will never die as it's passed down from generation to generation.
