well, i know altairs. as you can see on his left hand, his pinkey is covered up. he flicks his pinkey once to draw out the blade, and another time to retract. but im pretty shure they have the same designs.

because , its just like a knife ( in ac 1 ) it is stealthy , and it makes alot of noise , but used mostly on rooftops because no one is there , you can also buy knives , ( 15 ) wich is even more stealthy, does that awnswer your question
