  • answers my question ..hahha

  • Prism died on Dec 25th, 1984 when the Vancouver Police Department Killed Ron Tabak.

  • This must be the original singer? Is this Ron Tabak?

  • On Sunday, March 6, 2011, Prism's Spaceship Superstar was chosen as the wakeup song for the Space Shuttle Discovery crew members.

    R.I.P Ron Tabak

  • @6h967

Id like to see you jump up on that stage and do better.

  • @BrahnTheHandyMan

All those bands are Canadian, why hate on Nickleback? I like both but since these guys do not play anymore, its nice to know that Canada is still at the top on the music industry. Dont you think?

  • @iiTzMrMcBaggin Nickleback is a bunch of faggots...

  • @BrahnTheHandyMan Lol, kid your a retard, picking fights with everyone for no reason. Just because your stuck in the 80's and wishing 80 year old people could still make new music and play, doesn't mean you have to hate on newer bands that put out generally the same kind of music. Your lucky that there are bands like Nickleback, or you'd be listening to Bieber and Nikki Minaj on the radio all the time. Just shut up and enjoy the music faggot.

  • @iiTzMrMcBaggin Are you fucking with me bro? Goddamn you're fucking stupid...

  • @BrahnTheHandyMan No I'm not kidding. How am I stupid? Please explain to me your genius knowledge.

  • saw these guys with cheap trick in canada..with grahm parker and the rumors///lol dam i'm old.

  • @MrNugatory me2.....

  • winnipeg wuz here

  • VPD murdered Ron

  • 66,666 view's..How cool is that and it's a like!Great classic!

  • this band couldve blown all the other 80s bands out of the water if they had been promoted and marketed right (its too late now) back in the day...

  • Great to play while the shuttle just took off, eh?

  • ron fell off his bike just outside my apartment on kingsway, burnaby, b.c., then got thrown in the drunk tank and died later that day. sad story....

  • @thedogduncan who's ron?

  • @freereigns1 You're a fucking dumbass, I never said I was. Fucking retard.

  • This is a great video, as it has recorded a great piece of musical history that makes up our world. Nice job on posting this & peace be with Ron's family, cuz we miss him, too...

  • where was this show?

  • @6h967 Ooooooooooo...must be a disgruntled YANK....who couldn't organize a fight in a wet paper bag with both ends open!

  • @6h967 Justin and Gag Gag are waiting for you hurry along

  • sweet

  • his voice is really quite amazing. sounds like the album which I would not expect. wonderful.

  • Wow. Glad I came across this. A great band that I haven't heard in ages.

  • Absolutely sublime! A really great song with a great melody ! Those synths are so COOL and that synth solo at the end of the song is awesome!

  • MAN I LOVED THESE GUYS GROWING UP IN THE 80'S AS A KID. I SAW THEM LIVE BUT WITH OUT RON. STILL ROCKED.

  • i want a solar powered laser beam guitar

  • Met and partied with Ron in Edmonton many years ago! Really sad and unfortunate as to the tragedy that occured to him. R.I.P my friend!

  • I need more cowbell!

but seriously, this is the soundtrack to being a Canadian teenager in the '70s.

Still a great song for hitting the open road.

  • Ron Tabak was truly an amazing performer and an "Amazing Friend" - right Neil? Ron is definitely rocking the angels with his 'new' music - left us clean & sober and much too soon. RIP Big Guy!

  • The Prism Revival continues!!

  • Awesome band!

  • selling out at the Martian Astro Bowl... hahaha nice

  • Saw them at Alberta Jam one, way back in the late 70's or early 80's...headlining too, they were big and prooved it...great show

  • Hi Racefan. Yes Darcy was the singer with Simon Kaos. Actually he is a very good singer....he is, how do I say it? A bit of a jerk. I have been in the bussiness for 40 years and have worked with far better singers than him that don't have his attitude. I live in the same city (Abbotsford) as him. Last I heard he is a vocal coach or something. There is a saying. Those who can...Do. Those who can't...teach know what I mean? Cheers. Oh ya I think he was in the band poker face as well.

  • Ronnie was bar none the best singer Prism ever had. Darcy Dueshbag was the worst. Ronnie was my friend. So Roadhouse...go fuck your hat

  • @drumheadthe1st Darcy Dueshbag was that the guy they hired from Simon Kaos?, never saw him with Prism

  • @racefan32 i saw them with Darcy he was excellent,no Ron Tabak mind you but still a great singer, its sad now that the bass player is going around calling his band prism, they suck ass and shouldnt be allowed to call themselves prism,R.I.P Ron.

  • not bad for a dead guy....wear a helmut....

  • @roadhouse150 what a tacky comment !! ron was a friend of mine,he did alot for canadian rock i think you could have come up with something better that ..have some respect

  • I just feel fortunate to have seen these guys twice in their heyday and even opened for them in '88 when they reformed. Very cool !!!!

  • A true shame Ron died. This band would have gone much further with him.

    Cheers!!

  • I had not heard this song in many years. I have this old album somewhere and never did hear much about the group since the late 70's. I bought this album only because I loved this song and had forgotten about them until recently. Thanks for posting this. :)

  • f ya! thanks for uploading this!!!!!

  • great song they've been playing this song on the radio quite often recently

  • @xDi3hardx15 GOOD, better then that fucking bieber shit that they market now

  • Seeing Prism was my first concert ever. They were phenomenal live and came across more as a hard, rock and roll band. The media referred to them as a pop or bubblegum band and I think it had to do with the arrangements on the records which made them sound a lot tamer than they were live. Ron Tabak had a terrific voice.

  • that dude has a huge rack

  • I grew up in the states near Vancouver in he 70's and 80's and I use to listen to these Canadian bands liked Trooper, Prism etc. on the Vancouver radio stations. They were part of my childhood.

  • RIP Ron

  • RIP Ron.. we miss you. PRiSM was one of the greatest bands of all time!

  • ....Im a Spaceship Superstar, got a solar-power laser beam guitar.

  • dorn2100... in records alway the gonna have better voice than in a live enviroment...much better

  • The most talented singer on planet earth!

  • His voice was not like this when the song was recorded or in the ensuing years. It was higher and tighter. I don't know what year this video was done...but yeah it does sound like Axl.

  • prism is in my top 4 favorite bands of all time-boston, prism, april wine, the cars ( no particular order) :D

  • One of the most underated bands of all time.

  • does anyone know where this show was it looks like the 1983 USb festival!! i have the triumph dvd!

  • They're always playing that song on the radio, and I don't mind it!

  • RIP ...Ron , Sept.25,1953-Dec.25,1984.....I can't believe its been 25 years.....miss ya

  • This singer sounds alot like Axel Rose from Guns N Roses. I'll bet that Axel was inspired by this dude's voice. Prism rock!

  • Finally! Someone else agrees with me that Axl Rose sounds like Ron Tabak! (In this song anyway).

  • I was talking to John Hall (the keyboard player you see there) the other day and he said the band took their life in their hands at these big festival concerts during the late 70's and 80's... People would fling quarters on the stage and hit people in the head and empty beer bottles. They would collect all the change at the end of the night and have a huge container full! I remember Phil Mogg of UFO got fed up with it, as well.

  • I wish I had a Solar Powered Lazer Beam Guitar...

  • I have one. You can borrow it if you'd like.

  • Prism were the first band I saw in concert here in Montreal (1977)

    They were opening for Styx.

Thanks for the nice "souvenir" !!!

  • my band openned for them a month ago

  • I've been listening to Prism since I was ten...thirty years ago. I was only 13 when Ron Tabak passed away and realized what a tragedy for Canadian music that was. He may be gone but his music and incredible voice will always remain.

  • i saw them live in stonewall maitoba

  • Darcy (lead singer of prism) is really nice he was my singing teacher until we ran out of money to pay for it itwas so much fun i also got guitar lessons from the lead guitaristof damian marshall he is really nice al well his name is steve

  • i met that guy!!!!! 0:07 with the crazy hair playing the guitar!!!!!!!!!!

  • i think thats allen

  • Another great CDN Band.

  • @bj616 Hell Yeah! I find rock was best done by Canadians like Prism, Chilliwack Helix, Honeymoon suite, Rush.. If you liked this kind of music then give this site a shot 80sfantasy.webs.com

  • @bladekiller990 You know it man! Bill Henderson and Randy Bachman live on our island. Bill is a Hell of a nice guy while Randy really keeps to himself. I drive past his place every day.

  • No idea they were CDN, Amazing!

  • man our band slots this one in every once in awhile..and people just go nuts..great fuckin tune

  • Thanks so much for posting. I remember cruisin in buddies Datsun B210 blasting this. Cheers.

  • Soo cool!! Brings me way gack. Remember getting the single ' Take me Away", then actually winning the Armageddon album @ the CNE. What a voice.

  • This takes me back stellar rocknroll...yeahhhhh

  • His mother lived right next door to my cousin ...he's probably my biggest musical influence...I met him a number of times. He gave my cousin Michelle all his copies of the albums they released until his tragic death in 84....one of the nicest guy's I have ever met. I was all of 9 years old and to this day he is still the reason I sing.

  • Can anyone tell me where I can find a video of the Prism song "You Walked Away Again"?

  • these guys were so good tabak's voice was great this takes me back to high school in the 70's

  • Damn! That was a great performance, and AGAIN of a great 70's tune that I had never heard of before! Too bad about the lead singer, though...damn.

  • wow, this music was passionate..but: (did he really die in police custody)? there's always been so much misinformation about this band..

  • Go to wikipedia and enter: Prism (band)

    All will be revealed!

  • Right now I am a 13 year old eating foot long hot dogs and riding a shitload of rides at the PNE. Takes me back.

  • :Prism was one of the first bands I saw in concert. Hearing this and seeing Ron sing live brings me back. Ron was truly an icon. God bless you

  • when I first heard GnR, Rose reminded me of Tabak. I was a big fan of Prism.

good to hear this one again!

  • These guy were huge in Canada! Sadly the singer died in police custody in Vancouver!

  • He died? I didn't know. Why? what did he do?

  • On Christmas Eve, 1984, Ron was cycling across Vancouver to visit band member Al Harlow. He was struck on the head by a passing vehicle and brought to hospital by ambulance but told there was nothing wrong with him. He strongly insisted something was wrong and was arrested by police at the hospital. On Christmas Day, Tabak's mother was told he had been found unconscious in the police cells. His condition was grave: a blood clot on his brain. He died without regaining consciousness December 26.

  • WOW! Did not know that.

  • I wouldn't put it past the Vancouver cops to have made his condition worse. :(

  • Did these guys open for Loverboy on their Get Lucky tour in 82? That was my first concert (Colorado State Fair Grounds) and I remember liking the opening band but never really knew who it was.

  • Yes it was them

  • From their self-titled 1977 album "Prism". Outstanding keyboard/synthesizer work by John Hall and vocals by Ron Tabak (RIP) - a great live performance......

  • damn, I wish I had a solar-powered laser beam guitar :(

  • I had one, but I sold it on Ebay

  • looks like Tom Lavin of the Powder Blues on guitar .. haha .. I played the other night at a club with lindsey mitchell and am good friends with Tom and had no idea Tom played with Prism .. what a great band!!

  • yaa! prism ftw

  • k, could someone please tell me, where is Night to remember? can't seem to find it here?

  • Man they don't make music like this anymore!

    What a GREAT TUNE !

  • Open soul sugery!

  • Awesome Band. RIP Ron

  • RIP, Ron Tabak. Listen to how good he was even live. No faltering in his voice whatsoever.

  • Great song, great band. Check out John Hall on keyboards at "Joe Fortes" restaurant, Vancouver, B.C. every Sun. Mon. Tue. evenings. He's the best. What an honor it is to sing along to these great tunes! Kingsway Street, Dec. 1984 was indeed a blemish on Vancouver Police in the loss of such a great singer. We believe he went home to be with the Lord having received Christ as savior RIP

  • This is so cool. Brings back many memories. What a voice!! Cool tune - thx for posting!!

  • man this is so cool thanks for sharing this..i didn't expect to find live footage..man watchen Ron Strut belten out the notes..i gotta believe Sebastian Bach was heavily influenced..awesome thanks again

  • Imagine how good ron would sound with todays technology...he rocked hard and left a lifetime of great tunes...

  • I listened to a radio show in Vancouver a year or so ago.. and one of the producer/engineer types who worked on recording this song said that the band wanted to do a song in the style of "Teenage Wasteland" by The Who.... check out the intro keyboards and the middle section... interesting and cool.... I love the early keyboard synth gizmo.... looks like the controls of the space-shuttle....

  • I miss hearing new tunes from Ron. Tragic. But wow, the music he left us...

  • These guys ruled in Canada way back in the late 70's. I saw them at Ontario Place and they brought the place down. RIP Ron Tabak.

  • can someone post 'a night to remember' by prism

  • this brings back a flood of great memories!!!!!!!!

  • Another VPD victim
