im from southampton she was a cruise ship but now shes had her last voyage she has been brought i cant remember by who but shes now a floating hotel n i no so fay they have taken off the chimley witch has now ruined the ships look:( i might b able to find at more in the net
I was begining to think I was the only one fed up with Carnival's annoying prostitution of the class of vessel. Not to mention the boring, seen-before interiors. An absolute disappointment on every level. Catch the fake teak decks? If she were to sink today there's nothing that makes her distinct. She's be batter as an artificial reef on the ocean floor.
Costa? I may be wrong, but wasn't the QV modeled after the Vista class ships from HAL? She looks strikingly similar to Holland America's Oosterdam, and Noordam.
Cunard is managed and designed by Princess out of California. Cunard is owned by Carnival in Miami. Like Costa and Holland America under Carnival ownership they are nothing more than replicated ships with replicated interiors and destinations. What made them distinct is long gone and as Carnival still grows that "sameness" quality found everywhere within the company is starting to show. The competition is starting to catch up too. Disney ships are more ocean liners than Cunard will ever be.
Carnival apparently has decided to make Cunard more British. I understand Cunard's headquarters will now be in England and not in California. But the "British" appearance is only on the surface. It is very easy (and typical for Carnival) to market Cunard as the "Queen" brand. Don't forget all the design decisions for the Vicky and QE will be made in California, Cunard will still be managed by P&O in California. Final decisions are in Miami..British in appearance only.
There goes the Vicky! Personally, I think she looks top-heavy but I'm not really crazy about her exterior in anyway but her interiors, they seem to be nice.
I'm going to Southampton today so I'll get some information sbout Victoria.

Was she built as a cruise ship or an ocean liner as QM2? Looks like a cruise ship.

just the same design as all the Costa/ Carnival ships. Doesn't look like Carnival wants to hire new people to design new ships...stupid.
They all come out from an assembly line with different funnels and colors
