I think you don't know much about software development if you don't know that most developers prefer working from the command line for "glue" operations.
@TRaddcliff copyright infringement only applies when the infringer is branding the same kind of product as the infringed. EG, if I was a bakery and I called myself "Fubar Bakery" and some other baker came along and called himself "Fubar Bakery" that would be grounds for infringement. If a butcher came along and called himself "Fubar Butcher", although we both work with food, as long as he doesn't imply any association, he should be in the clear.
@TRaddcliff a) it's not my vid, b) it doesn't matter how they feel about it, it's not copyright infringement; that said, they probably don't care about a 27,000 view vid on youtube using the same acronym to describe something completely different. So go ahead, forward the video, I'd actually like to see a proper corporate response to the video rather than some wannabe copyright lawyer making accusations based on his/her complete misunderstanding of the law.
This is great i always wanted to know how to get to do this i have been programming alot for ages now and now i want to contribute and bug fix so much! :)
This helps clear up so many questions. I'd really like to join the dev team for Ubuntu - and I had no clue where to actually start. Thanks for posting these video tuts!
Very nice video, and also thank you for the excellent lesson on Packaging 101 from UbDevWeek. I'll definitely attend to the other sessions; and then I'll try to become a MOTU contributor.
how come when he used sudo it did not ask for his password and it's aloes asking me for my password is there a way to turn it off seeing how i'm the only one using the computer
From the sudo(8) manpage: "Once a user has been authenticated, a timestamp is updated and the user may then use sudo without a password for a short period of time (15 minutes unless overridden in sudoers)."
cool dude thanx i think i now i know why when i open a program and it asked for my password it don't ask me again if i want to open it again for some time
Very cool tutorial. Thanks

For the love of God, get rid of the command line in linux.
If you want developers to port their apps then you must do all VISUALLY.
Please, create a simple program like Giftwrap or Ubucompilator to create a .deb package. As simple as that.
